lhat asar sa SMC hehehe

lets be real gentlemen... khit nman ang ROS hindi rin pinayagan si Paul Lee at Chan. i dont know bkit may go signal si Norwood.

ito nman ksing si MVP under the table kung magoffer sa player na ksama sa Gilas pool.. muntikan na nga mkuha si Paul Lee.

kya hindi mo tlaga maaalis na pigilan ng SMC ang knilang mga players to join the national team. khit pa nagcommit ang players!

and making a new league possible maghit yan good only for 2-3 years ang hirap magsupport at build ng isang team. yan ang nangyari sa MBA naghit ng panandalian then biglang nagsara!

Kung natiionalistic man sila, just like our heroes. They'll take action and play dahil nahirang silang irerpresenta ang bansa, pero takot mawala sa bakuran ng SMC, press release ng injuries at mga family emergencies.

Tell that to the marines!!

Mga bahag ang buntot sa SMC! The moment na banggitin ang pagsilbi sa bayan (playing for flag) mas matimbang yun at binding kesa sa kontrata mo sa corparation.

Pero that's the state of affairs of our country. Thank you for letting us know who's really in charge and running things.

very well said chief. pera-pera na lang ang usapan pagdating sa philippine basketball. at least the paying public knows the root cause of our decline in international basketball. reality is, this is how sad the state of philippine basketball is as now being managed by pathetic leaders.

IMHO, I think the only solution is to totally make the Gilas Team Independent.

Here are some suggestions:

> SBP Pres. MVP to resign and be replaced by someone not associated in any PBA teams (Joe Lipa, Mon Fernandez, Jawo?, Chino Trinidad, Andy Jao, etc)

> Coaching staff and management to be headed by people NOT involved/employed in any of the PBA Teams (Altamirano, Joe Lipa, Andy Jao, etc)

> Gilas selection comes BEFORE the start of the new PBA season so that affected teams can adjust since may new format ang FIBA starting 2017

> There should be a Junior/Gilas Cadets who comes from the Collegiate Ranks and pag nasama sa official list, hindi muna pwede mag PBA until matapos ang contract sa Gilas.

Basketball.

I share your thoughts, except the second point: the best coach is in the PBA, no doubt; kwidaw ka kapag ang isang coach ay wala sa PBA; he may be good, but am sure he's not the best (unless we hire a foreigner, parang Toroman and Baldwin, but Tab was pre-PBA employed as Tnt Consultant prior to being hired as National Coach)

exactly, rajko toroman was not involved in any PBA Team when he was with Gilas 1.0.. Since PBA coaches were not available, we use foreign ones

hahaha ano yan?...lokohan? nagpunta sa gym at nagpaalam kay baldwin at sa mga kasama niya "dahil di niya control". now, because of the backlash these players are getting from netizens, biglang nagbago ang desisyon? nagbago din kaya ng decision yung may control sa kanya? come on mr. pingris...you know better than that. sino naman kaya ang papalitan niya kung sakali? imo it will be a total injustice to those undergoing training. for all of pingris' skills and talent, i think it's too late in the day to be bumping off a player who had been training hard and who had shown his sincerity in wearing the national colors.

Ping is just making a fool of himself, but thank you dahil sa kanya mas nae expose yung motives ng SMC.

Let me refresh your memories, there was a time BAP ang NSA ng basketball, BAP's independent unlike todays SBP headed by MVP.

Yung national team natalo sa Boy Bawang team, we got suspended by FIBA.

Give credit where credit is due, MVP organized our national basketball program, corporate-style.

We got to FIBA worlds, now if he gets to put a brand on our national team, is that an injustice? Win-win situation in my book, fair play.

I didn't see SMC rushing to save our basketball program back when we were suspended by FIBA and when we were beat by Boy Bawang type teams.

Give credit to where credit is due.

i agree 100% on this chief. just to make matters clear, it was mvp who saved philippine basketball from the doldrums. remember, the philippines was suspended by the fiba for some time. was it because of internal rumblings? i never read nor saw the faces of cojuangco and ang save philippine basketball. it was mvp and his deep pocket that put the philippines back to international basketball. smc? forget it. what is a little consideration compared to the sacrifices and effort mvp has done for the sake of national pride.

the bidding war against china for the hosting of the 2019 fiba world...it was a david and goliath battle. it was a long shot for the philippines. but at least the pldt and meralco big boss gave it a gallant try. just to show you how mvp loves the sport. where was smc? where was cojuangco? where was ang? apparently, almost everybody here knows the answer
