catsumhoto
we really have to improve with our height.... hehehe sad to sa we being southeast asian are of smaller built.... we are slower cannot jump high enough and are not sprinter compare to other race of the world... look at the euroean, african, yellow race..... they are more athletic than us.... our region even cannot compete at the asian level in sports of running, jumping, even team sports..... japan has recently won the world baseball league... korea and saudi arabia is consistently qualified for the world cup of soccer... as far as southeast asia is concern our pride rest on one man PACQUIAO... you can also include tiger woods being half asian.... but aside from that we don't have much representation in other fields of sports... maybe its our diet.... we should embark on a rigid research and study of our diet... hey our food is one of the best cuisine with bagoong and everything which incidentally all our asean neighbor do have.... CELTS
Jamal Sampson ... is he the right one for GILAS? I guess this is a good topic to revive discussions in this thread. The Guy is big ... plays PF/C. Strong but got limited offensive moves...mOstly close to the basket. If the Team is looking for an interior defender and one that will do the dirty job like rebounding. He could be the one. Edited December 1, 2009 by CELTS Quote Link to comment
zurcaled
gud news the fp nolia u 16 sweptits first three assignment by winning over bahrain today.... the acid test start at the next round where it awaits other qualifier in this tournament.... ang mali lng ni coach altamirano ay may pinapapasok siya sa line up na wala nman doon sa tryouts.... kung tingnan nyo ang list sa top 24 people wala si Roldan Sara dun, but naglalaro pa rin siya ngayun, kawawa nman ang iba na nag tryout pa Quote Link to comment

catsumhoto
as long as the gilas team could snag a couple of fil foreigner and a legitimate american import they might have a chance in beating china lets say one in a hundred chne in beating china.....with a complete home grown line up medyo malabo.... look at how purefoods mangle them during the tuneup game.... purefoods literally used their second and third line up in doing so.... Based on the boxscores of SG in their PBA stint at maging sa tournament sa middle east na sinalihan nila, Sampson isn't the type of a player na maasahan mo sa opensa but you can certainly rely on him to get rebounds and block shot and/or maybe intimidate the players of the opposing team/s sa shaded area. Allowed naman yata ang isang bansa to field two naturalized players so sana ang ginawa na lang ng SBP/SG pina-naturalize nila pareho sina Giles at Sampson though I think that they ought to look around for a player (other than Sampson) who can provide the much needed offensive sock para i-naturalized. Also, based sa nabasa kong article sa newspaper, Giles (who is now playing for a middle east team) has a grudge against SBP/SG for sacking him.... Quote Link to comment
