Anaheim
^ thanks The difference between Manila Ocean Park (MOP) and Ocean Park Hong Kong is that Manila Cean Park contains only the oceanarium without the fun rides/cable car/Panda seen in HK counterpart. The Ocean Park Hong Kong has a short tunnel aquarium made only for sharks while the MOP has a tunnel aquarium 25 meters long (longer than Singapore's Underwater World tunnel aquarium in sentosa island). Ocean Park Hong Kong has a huge aquarium called the Atol Reef, 4 floors of a building while the aquariums at MOP are divided in numerous sections. Malaysia's Aquaria in Kuala Lumpur also contains the oceanarium without the fun rides seen in Ocean Park HK, although the KL counterpart contains snake species, miniscule monkey species. MOP will have a mall and a hotel while OP HK doesn't. You can't really compare MOP with the other ocean parks in Asia because each has its unique feature...it's like comparing between your daughter and your son. What's really important is that we finally have our own Ocean Park. I was personally dismayed before because the Philippines was the only Asian country without an Oceanarium when I saw the oceanariums in Kuala Lumpur, Singapore, Siam Ocean World in Bangkok and Ocean Park HK. Now, I'm excited than ever for the opening of MOP ! Quote Link to comment

kanski
^^^Expect it to be expensive. It won't be cheap to maintain a place like this. Hula ko it will be around P500.00 for adults and somewhat lower for children. Edited February 26, 2008 by kanski Quote Link to comment
johnlove
I hope it will open on March 1. I also hope they would open a scuba diving facility that offers refresher courses. Given today's traffic conditions, it is difficult to go all the way to Makati or San Juan just to attend scuba diving lessons if you live in Manila. Quote Link to comment
MS
Had the chance to be at the Grand Opening this morning with PGMA as the guest of honor. Pix are taken from my phone cam... I just want to share this... it has great potentials as soon as the project is completed.. just the same, it's good that we have a new theme park to explore. I like the middle part of the tour the most... when you enter the tunnel, refer to the last pic posted Quote Link to comment

Though you are not allowed to use the flash of your camera. I think this will be the best tourist attraction Manila has to offer. Quote Link to comment

Yung exterior part di pa masyadong maayos, kala mo di pa tapos when you are approaching MOP, but once you enter the hall, maganda na, upon exit feeling nyo palabas ka ng airport ..... with matching manila bay in the bakground Edited March 1, 2008 by sikret_prend Quote Link to comment
