Life Is Beautiful (Italian: La vita è bella) is a 1997 Italian language film which tells the story of a Jewish Italian, Guido Orefice (played by Roberto Benigni, who also directed and co-wrote the film), who must employ his fertile imagination to help his family during their internment in a Nazi concentration camp.

a clock work orange- In a futuristic Britain, a gang of teenagers go on the rampage every night, beating and raping helpless victims. After one of the boys quells an uprising in the gang, they knock him out and leave him for the police to find. He agrees to try "aversion therapy" to shorten his jail sentence. When he is eventually let out, he hates violence, but the rest of his gang members are still after him ( all hail stan kubrick)

 

cinema paradiso-Told largely in flashback to childhood years, it tells the story of the return to his native Sicilian village of a successful film director Salvatore for the funeral of his old friend Alfredo, who was the projectionist at the local "Cinema Paradiso". Ultimately, Alfredo serves as a wise father figure to his young friend who only wishes the best to see him succeed, even if it means breaking his heart in the process.

run lola run-The main part of the film is divided in three "runs". Each run starts from the same situation but develops differently and has a different outcome. Each run contains various flash-forward sequences, showing how the lives of the people that Lola bumps into develop after the encounter. In each run, those people are affected in different ways.pi

great expectations- charles dickens.. 'nuf said.. ethan hawke and paltrow make a perfect tandem..

irreversable- monica belluci of course and vince cassel

l'appartment- again belluci and cassel the french rock at cinematography

the usual suspects- there are no words.. kevin spacey.. awesome..

pi- Max Cohen (Sean Gullette), the story's main character and occasional narrator, is a number theorist who believes that everything in nature can be understood through numbers,

I just saw this movie, very cute. some scenes were a bit slow but it was something different.it's not your typical vampire love story.

Once Upon a Time n America (1984) - a crime film directed and co-written by Sergio Leone and starring Robert De Niro and James Woods. The story chronicles the lives of Jewish ghetto youths who rise to prominence in New York City's world of organized crime.

 

 

wait, these 2 movies were considered for the oscars during the years they were released? but i like the idea. how about, "sliding doors"?

Butterflies Are Free (if you will be curious to watch it, just buy the DVD and watch it and don't research or read the storyline, mas maganda). It's a love story, nuff said. Heck I just bought it because I saw Goldie Hawn in bra and panty on the cover. Surprised to find a good movie here.
