haroots2
Just check...i think lrt is already in the positive. And guess when it started. Quote Link to comment
dos8dos
Yes that was my statement pero bakit mo inaalis sa Pnoy admin. eh during that time pa rin yung tinutukoy ko. Di ba during Pnoy time? So why are you interpreting na yung matagal na sinasabi ko eh outside Pnoys time?

MRT will never be in the positive. Simple reason. The government, up to now, is still subsidizing the riding fare rates.
New trains and maintenance for now. Plan for subway kahit EDSA lang muna. Tama yung ginagawa nila naw na separate bus para narerestrict both publoc and private vehicles. Divert jobs and infrastructures to Nuvali, Bulacan, Cavite and Subic. Quote Link to comment
camiar
Both LRT and MRT fares are subsidized. Even the PNR's commuter trains. As long as it is subsidized, it will NEVER be in the positive. Naiintindihan mo? Hindi, di ba? Ipaklita mo kung saan nanggaling ang haka-haka mong in the positive nga ang LRT from the government's point of view. Hula mo lang yan. Quote Link to comment

dos8dos
So is it better now that we got an incompetent one? nope its not better now, however the problem is not incompetence because the root cause of the problem is conflict of interest between the concessionaire (sobrepena) who wish to keep the contract to operate until 2025 & the aquino government wanting to buy it out Edited June 1, 2016 by dos8dos Quote Link to comment

dos8dos
^thats the sad part when the concessionaire doesnt have the interest of the commuters in hand take note that MRT1 is build operate transfer (BOT) scheme. its the responsibility of the concessionaire to keep up the operation but since they didnt get the price to operate PROFITABLY they resorted to compensation from the govt in terms of SUBSIDY. thats what the ramos, erap & glory admin did and yet the concessionaire failed to add NEW TRAINS in that span of the years. in fairness to the sobrepenas the subsidy they got from the 3 admins after cory may not have been enough or they are just too GREEDY to milk the filipino tax payers when the aquino admin came in thay wanted to change this by easing out sobrepenas from operating the MRT system. the sobrepenas fought back through the legal system insisting on their contract to operate until 2025 Edited June 1, 2016 by dos8dos Quote Link to comment

Don't attempt to use the "gain in foreign exchange" to cover for the operating loss. Hindi ba normal course of business yun ibang nagenerate na other income? Quote Link to comment
