visit www.hattrick.org!! its not arcade type... its like football manager!

its fun!!

im a manutd fan. i think the defense and midfield is causing problems for united. plus the new 4-3-3 system being introduced. shakey ung defense without g.neville and g.heinze. keano is being missed in the mids.

juventus 3 - rapid 0

> the austrians were simply outclassed by the italian champs... david trezeguet scored in the 27th... followed by goals from adrian mutu and zlatan ibrahimovic in the 82nd and 85th, respectively... juve was denied the service of patrick vieira due to suspension...

Now, Capello's problem is if he should still keep Del Piero on the lineup now that Mutu seemed to have proven worthiness. Mukhang mapapalitan na ang captain ng Juventus. Tsk Tsk Tsk.

Schalke 2-2 AC Milan

very good result for schalke, the german side had a draw w/ the finalists ac milan, inconsistent pa din tlga ang milan when compared to juventus who keep their winning ways in the serie a & the CL, tuloy pa din ang criticism ng back four ng ac milan dahil matanda na daw sila (stam, nesta, maldini, cafu)..

Fenerbache 3-0 PSV

tsk tsk tsk..another disastrous game for the previous quarterfinalists, the dutch side really suffered w/ their key players leaving (van bommel, park, lee, etc.)..nice win for the turkish side proving that their attacking is in par w/ other teams in the CL..

Rosenborg 0-1 Lyon

the french league champions still are proving that they don't need essien to win in europe..

Real Madrid 2-1 Olympiakos

this game still proves that the galacticos are still leaky in the back..lucky for luxemburgo he was bailed out by soldado in the 86th minute..

Liverpool 0-0 Chelsea

Liverpool is the kryptonite to the Superstars of Chelsea..masterful coaching and tactics by Benitez to counter the Chelsea attack, if only they could break their defense as well..

Anderlecht 0-1 Real Betis

Spanish clubs are still proving that they are still to be reckoned with in Europe (Real Betis, Villareal, Real Madrid, Barcelona)

Internazional 1-0 Rangers

Inter stops the ascendancy of Rangers in the CL, hope Rangers can still bounce back & qualify for the group stages to maintain Scottish football's glory..

Porto 2-3 Artmedia Bratislava

another disaster for the previous winners of the CL, key losses to their players (deco, etc.) as well as their manager (mourinho) really weakened the side, kudos to Artmedia for the stunning win..

Any suggestions on who ManU should buy (midfielders & defenders) during the january transfer window?..

Any suggestions on who ManU should buy (midfielders & defenders) during the january transfer window?..

His really gotta find two world class midfielders to replace Scholes & Keane infuture and also for now to push so someone hitting their stride or prime, you can see from the Man U vs Benfica game their really lacking quality from the inside. Scholes again looked dead and not lively and Smith well his not the next Keane. the 4-3-3 formation there using with the two wide men up front does work but you need 3 great midfielders to make that happen like Chelsea.

Only Scholes could manage to push but Smith & Fletcher aint world beaters. Smith is nowhere near Keanes level only thing that they have in common is the red & yellow cards they get, Fletcher is a young up & coming scottish player but his not going to push people around yet and nor does he have the level of talent like Ronaldo. Park Ji-Sung is a good midfielder but as a wide player. Keane is nowhere near the fearsome player he was and his now just strolling around the park, Giggs is still a killer but clearly Fergie is not using him to an extent of his talent.

They have replaced a good player in Beckham spot but there really missig his pinpoint crosses and passes wish Fergie didnt sell him because of pride and also Jaap Stam! man Jaap was the rock of Man U he scared the bejesus out of strikers like what Pallister use to do.

Defenders they need a few more like at full back positions to backup Gary & Mikeal. A central defender wouldnt hurt too. However they should give Pique a chance and maybe get Spector back from loan and use him as a full back clearly Richardson is not a defender and he really wants to run down the wings and confuse the defenders like what he did at West Brom.

Man U has missed out on so many chances in getting Essien, Ronaldinho, Deco, Ballack, Thuram, Neved etc list goes on...

IF the Glazer can give some money for Fergie to spend then look for at least 3 top quality additions to the midfield, 3 defenders and 1 striker.

ur take??

ManU seem to have forgotten about their youth program which has produced the likes of beckham, scholes, the neville brothers, et al

maybe it's about time they invest again in developing their own youngsters.. B)

i wish for that too but now days its not about waiting to win but winning now. Man U can bring their youth in but it would mean they would fall longer behind, the trick is to be winning and bringing players along to win and bringing players from below to win. The best way now for Man U is buy some world class players to overcome their slump and bring in the youth along the way.

But for now only Fletcher, Bardsley, Richardson, Rossi, Pique came from the youth ranks theres a few there to become big stars.

yup it was gallas...well i dunno kng bkt walang tawag...siguro pambawi nlng sa goal ng liverpool sa semis last season ng CL...sana naman mas maganda laban this sunday ng two teams...

i dont know why mourinho keeps bringing that goal up. if the goal was not awarded, there would have been a penalty anyways as cech brought baros down. the ref just played the advantage...

ur take??

ManU should've bought either Essien or Ballack, tsk tsk tsk..or they should've bought more players aside from Park..News indicate that Sir Alex Ferguson is now busy searching for players to strengthen his squad specifically due to the announcement of Roy Keane that this might be his last yr in ManU..i think ManU need a new central midfielder, a legitimate left winger (left footed) and defenders to back up heinze, silvestre, ferdinand & neville to keep w/ Chelsea for the title race, any players in mind?

pele has proclaimed real madrid's brazilian prodigy robinho as the "new pele". and maradona has proclaimed barcelona's lionel messi as the "new maradona". i've heard so many youngster being proclaimed as the successors of those two greats, but after seeing robinho and messi play, this time i think its true...

messi & robinho are great players but they should try to make a name for themselves rather than labeling themselves as the new pele & the new maradona..like michael jordan, he was once labeled as the new doctor j, but he made a new for himself..

transfer news: ManU will likely sign Michael Ballack(midfielder),Will Sagnol(left back) and Didier Zakora (midfielder) on the January transfer window, any comments on these possible signings?..

check out this article - http://www.soccer365.com/EUROPEAN_NEWS/Pre...99_106890.shtml

ballack is more concerned with winning trophies... rather than cash... it seems that ballack is not contented with the domestic trophies that bayern annually wins... bayern has yet to win a major european silverware since their champions' league triumph back in 2001... and ballack is becoming more frustrated with bayern's performance in the last few champions' league seasons...

but transfer to manchester united?... it is perhaps a big gamble for ballack... imho... man united is an overachieving team relying on past laurels to sell its image of a strong team... i'm sorry to man united fans... it is just my opinion... they were just lucky back in 1999 when ole gunnar solskjaer struck the late winner... and with real and over-hyped "devils" like wayne rooney and rio ferdinand around... it is hard to predict what man united can achieve this year...

going back... with how things are going for bayern this season... it is unlikely that they'll be out of the competition early... ballack should just be more patient and be a team player...

same here, for me the favorites are juventus, chelsea, barcelona as well as lyon and bayern..

but i'm still rooting for Manchester United to win (hopefully, despite problems in their domestic form and injuries plaguing the squad, i sure hope they get players this coming january transfer window..)..

but i will not be surprised if the underdogs of europe strike again..

i like the format of the champions league (i think each team plays about 16games to win, from groups stages up to the finals)in which they give a chance for underdogs to win, it makes the tournament more exciting..

Link to comment

if artmedia does not drop a single game and advances to the knockout stages... i'm placing my bet with this team... the same goes with thun...

les douges anyone?... lille has yet to score... they have their chances... but all of it ended in futile results... however... their group is perhaps the most open... villareal and benfica also have their own shares of woe and manchester united is manchester united... :) they choke and self-destruct...

hey... have you noticed arsenal's past three games?... they have yet to suffer a defeat or draw... it seems that their renewed focus on doing their best in the chanmpions' league and staying in the hunt for a CL birth in their domestic league is paying off...

Link to comment

arsenal are running on luck..they still lack the needed tactics to win CL..they lack the key elements to win the CL, some experts say its arsene wenger's lack of european experience or arsenal's kind of play where they don't play rugged football, they always aim for beautiful passing..
