We are grateful to Les Moonves, Dawn Ostroff, and their entire organization for bringing "WWE SmackDown" to millions of viewers for so many years. Quote Link to comment
burgess732002
Too bad the Nacho Man burned bridges with Vince & the WWE. I think this guy still has it and can be great commentator on Smackdown (better than Coachman hehehe). kuryenteking
The reason for that is because John Cena is using the right to face the champion in No Way Out instead of Wrestlemania. You mean to say bro, that in facing orton in no way out, cena will not be in the main event in wrestlemania? Quote Link to comment
peep_tom
You mean to say bro, that in facing orton in no way out, cena will not be in the main event in wrestlemania?Correct! He used his rights for his his wrestlemania main event in no way out and in fact they have signed the contract on raw last monday. I just dont get it because cena said that he came back prematurely and risk his injury just to be in wrestlemania and then he gave it up just like that, it only means its not about wrestlemania but its about the championship and getting back at orton. It doesn't mean though that Cena won't be in the main event in wrestlemania because the winner of the elimination chamber match will face the champ in the main event in wrestlemania so if Cena wins the title in no way out then he still goes to Wrestlemania which I think is the picture in the head of Cena. Oh and by the way IMO Orton is doing very well in his role in the WWE right now. Edited February 10, 2008 by peep_tom Quote Link to comment

hitman531ph
WWE made a strong effort in trying to keep Bobby Lashley from leaving. Much like they did when Carlito tried leaving the company, WWE had negotiations with Bobby Lashley in an attempt to keep him from walking away from the company. Unlike the Carlito situation, though, WWE was unable to get an agreement worked out. There’s still no word on whether or not WWE is preventing Bobby Lashley from working with TNA or fighting in MMA. However, there were reports that Bobby Lashley signed on with an agency that represents several MMA guys. WWE has signed Angela Fong to a developmental contract. Angela Fong, who was a cheerleader for a football team in Canada, signed a developmental contract with WWE. She is expected to report to Florida Championship Wrestling soon to begin training. It’s interesting to note that she has absolutely no experience as a wrestler. She is, however, pretty easy on the eyes. Scott Hall and Ron Simmons are both in rehab. In 2007, WWE made offered to pay for rehab for any wrestler that has ever been employed by the company. Jake “the Snake” Roberts was the first person to take WWE up on that offer. In fact, he’s on week 9 of the 14 week program. Well, Scott Hall has taken up WWE’s offer now. He has entered into a rehab center in Atlanta, Georgia (Jake Roberts is at the same one). Scott Hall recently made headlines when he skipped out on Kevin Nash and TNA during a pay per view. Ron Simmons has also checked himself into a rehab center. There are reports that he may be at the center rehab center as Scott Hall and Jake Roberts, but that hasn’t been completely confirmed just yet. The Rock (Dwayne Johnson) has been nominated for a Best Actor award. The Rock is one of the nominee for the Nickelodeon Kid’s Choice Best Actor award. His competition for the awards include Eddie Murphy, Ice Cube, and Johnny Depp. The event will be hosted by comedian Jack Black. The award show will be held on March 29, 2008 in Los Angeles, California. That is the same weekend that WWE will be holding Wrestlemania in Orlando, Florida. WWE will be releasing a Randy Savage DVD in 2008. In what has to be described as quite a shock, WWE has finally decided to do something with Randy Savage. It’s a shock because WWE has refused to even acknowledge his existence for the past few years. There’s a lot of rumors as to why Vince McMahon hates Randy Savage. Some of the rumors are actually pretty far fetched and ridiculous, but we can’t totally dismiss them because it had to be something huge for Vince McMahon to absolutely cut ties. Other wrestlers have crossed Vince McMahon in the past, but he still does business with them. It’ll be interesting to see if WWE would do a DVD like the one they did for the Ultimate Warrior. In that DVD, they basically just trashed the Ultimate Warrior. Hopefully, this will be a respectable DVD because Randy Savage does have a place in wrestling history. The WWE Hall of Fame loses credibility when you have guys like Nikolai Volkov inducted but not Randy Savage, whose contributions to wrestling is far greater. Several TNA and WWE stars in attendance for Brock Lesnar’s UFC debut. Those were were spotted on camera include the Undertaker, John “Bradshaw” Layfield, Stone Cold Steve Austin, and Kurt Angle. Some interesting things were noted. Kurt Angle and the Undertaker had a pretty long conversation. Steve Austin received one of the biggest ovations of the night. John Layfield was seen sitting with the other wrestlers as opposed to his wife. For those of you that don’t know yet, Brock Lesnar submitted in the first round. However, his performance was quite impressive. It raised more than a few eyebrows. UFC promoters are said to be quite pleased with his performance and are already looking forward to his next match. loudchild
actually its not really an "ankle lock" but more of a knee bar. i do not think frank mir would be able to pull an ankle lock on lesnar considering his power. he will need a larger base to mount the pressure thus the need to lock almost the entire leg. Rey Mysterio Injured After missing much of 2007, Rey Mysterio has suffered yet another injury. It may force him to miss much of 2008 as well. 619 Sidelined Rey Mysterio has been sidelined with what appears to be a torn bicep right now. The injury occurred during a routine tag team match between Rey Mysterio & Kane against Curt Hawkins & Zack Ryder during a house show in Santiago, Chile. Rey Mysterio displayed some courage when he finished the match after the injury happened. Immediately afterwards, the WWE medical staff checked on his injury. On Wednesday, he flew back to the United States before scheduled to have the injury checked by renowned specialist, Dr James Andrew. He's the doctor that all of the WWE's top level stars go see when they get injured. Though nothing is confirmed until official word is released by WWE and the doctor, the consensus is that it is a torn bicep. If that's proven to be the case, then you can expect Rey Mysterio to miss some considerable time from the ring. Similar injuries sidelined Edge, the Undertaker, and John Cena last year. Coincidentally enough, all three suffered their injuries in the midst of a title reign. Unless John Cena has any of his magic potion left for Rey Mysterio, the masked wrestler will probably be on the shelf for a few months. A Rey of Hope Rey Mysterio fans do have a ray of hope, though. In the next few hours, we could learn from Dr James Andrews that the injury isn't as severe as it was first diagnosed. That has happened before. In fact, Mr Kennedy's major push last year was killed because he was misdiagnosed after his injury. It was first believed that Mr Kennedy had suffered a tricep tear. The thought was that he was going to miss a few months. WWE had to scramble, so they removed the Money in the Bank from him and gave it to Edge, who switched over from Raw to win the World Heavyweight Championship. It turned out that Mr Kennedy's tricep did not tear completely off the bone. Dr James Andrews should be able to give a proper diagnosis for Rey Mysterio. He's one of the most well known and respected doctors in the entire country. Sports stars from the NFL, MLB, and NBA have gone to him when they're injured. WWE also sends their top stars (Triple H, John Cena, Bobby Lashley) to Dr James Andrews. If Rey Mysterio is deemed unable to perform at this weekend's No Way Out pay per view, then you can expect WWE to choose someone to replace him in the match. In fact, if that were the case, WWE might choose to wait until the day of the event to inform fans. They'll wait just in case the Rey Mysterio fans decide against buying the pay per view. Then again, with two Elimination Chamber matches on the show, WWE shouldn't have any trouble with buyrates. Kane's name has been thrown around as a possible last minute replacement for Rey Mysterio in the title match against Edge at the No Way Out pay per view. There's also speculation that WWE could rush the return of the Big Show at No Way Out. He could replace Rey Mysterio in the title match against Edge. Another interesting name as a replacement for Rey Mysterio is Matt Hardy. Sources state that he's been healthy enough to return to the ring. Randy Orton as formed somewhat of a clique backstage. There’s been a friendship formed between WWE Heavyweight Champion Randy Orton, Umaga, Carlito, Rey Mysterio, and WWE United States Heavyweight Champion MVP. It’s been said that these five guys have been standing up for one another backstage. Sources state that Randy Orton hasn’t been shy about standing up to management and veteran wrestlers ever since winning the WWE Heavyweight Championship. Rey Mysterio also possesses quite a bit of backstage stroke as well since he’s one of the most popular acts in the entire company. Several years ago, the original Clique ruled WWE backstage. They were able to pretty much dictate their own pushes and storylines. The original Clique consisted of Shawn Michaels, Triple H, Kevin Nash, Scott Hall, and Sean Waltman. Big Show is still down in Florida training for his comeback. For the past few weeks, the Big Show has been down in Florida Championship Wrestling training for his WWE comeback. For those of you that don’t know, Florida Championship Wrestling is a developmental territory for WWE. There’s still no concrete word on when he will make his return, but there’s a good chance that he will be back either before or at Wrestlemania. Jim “the Anvil” Neidhart has also been down in Florida Championship Wrestling, but don’t expect to see him making an in-ring return for WWE. His daughter is down there training. Chris Masters is in negotiations with the new American Gladiators TV show to become a gladiator. Chris Masters (along with TNA’s Matt Morgan) will be negotiating with the producers of the show for a spot as a gladiator. The first season did well enough to get renewed for a second season. Hulk Hogan will once again be the host of the show. It wasn’t too long ago that Chris Masters’ 90 day clause with WWE ended. That means that he is now free to work with TNA or any other wrestling company in the US. Thus far, there hasn’t been much interest from TNA. A lot of people believe that Chris Masters will eventually end back up in WWE. Keeping himself in the public’s eye would do well for his chances of returning to WWE.
