FYI.. Ron Harper signed (I think) two cards only.. Upper Deck 98-99 Sign of the Times.. and is wearing a Laker uniform.. Mas gusto ng collectors yung naka-Bulls siya.. so yung Autographics ang mas mahal.. at mas hard to find.. Saw one in e-bay and is already at $40 with 15 hours to go.. Here is the pic of the card from the bay.. My card is the same as this..

Thanks dude.. Collect ka ulit.. Its nice to go back nowadays and pick a player you want to collect.. Especially the next two years.. Coz high school phenoms Greg Oden and OJ Mayo are being drafted in the next two years respectively..

 

I have heard of Beckett online and have been looking (reading) the posts there for months now.. Meron din akong friend who does trades there but delikado daw.. But maybe if I have ever find the guts baka mag-trade din ako dun.. Kasi ang mga Kano weird eh, some collect really "cheap" players like Derek Fisher, Jalen Rose, etc.. who are cheap here.. so mura mo lang makukuha and then trade in bulk for certain rare cards..

 

Speaking of the old Autographics.. they are now "hot.." Kasi mayroong mga pumirma dun na hindi na umilit.. so yung iba dun full book or minsan lampas pa ng dollar price pagnakita mo sa e-bay.. examples would be Charles Oakley, Joe Dumars, Grant Hill, Ron Harper.. Ron Harper is at $60.. and is really off the roof dahil sobrang naging rare siya.. I was lucky to have had that card in my collection for three years now.. just got it when it was just at $20.. nakuha ko lang ng Php300 ito.. Money card ito ngayon.. Php3K minimum ito..

 

Dunno anyone named Jayson, Jigo or Jigz, dude..

Anyway, delikado nga ang trade sa Becket Online pero ako I usually trade lang sa mga well-known traders doon, yung mga kilalang tao na siguradong good traders at hindi ka lolokohin.

 

Ang systema dati, mag post ka lang ng WANT LISTS and NEED LISTS, then post mo din yung mga pang trade mo na cards. Pag may nag offer sa iyo at nagustuhan mo, you can demand na sila ang first-to-send since sila naman ang naunang nag offer. Kung gusto mo maka sigurado pwede mo gawin yan.

 

Parang gusto ko mag collect ulit kaya lang parang takot na ako gumastos. :cry: Daan nga ako minsan sa Galleria pag meron akong time para maka tingin mga bagong cards ngayon.

I checked the Beckett site, it's totally different now. During the old days puro email lang ang transactions, ngayon meron na silang message boards. Meron din mga traders from the Philippines doon.

 

BTW, madami pa ba new cards/inserts si Grant Hill? Meron din ba syang Jersey, Autograph and Numbered cards?

If you want to try Beckett, you can look for a list of good and bad traders, I notice it sa signatures ng mga users doon sa forum. Saka you can also look at their post count, big time traders are also big time posters. Good Luck.

The reason why Shaq's top RCs are much lower than that of AI, Kobe or Lebron is that his rookies are not that hard to find.. Kasi yung Topps Chrome RCs nina AI or Kobe are hard to find kasi hindi masyadong mataas ang print run nung 1996 Chrome eh.. Since the Tim Duncan rookie days.. naging hard to find na din ang rookie cards.. it is usually seeded na parang inserts and that made the new rookies much more expensive than the old ones..

 

And to add, Centers are not really the priority of a lot of collectors.. And this made Shaq's RCs not really high sellers.. Kaso alam mo, autographs of Shaq still command top money.. But right now, medyo dumadami na ang Shaq auto.. Nakakatawa nga eh dahil napapansin ko na pirma ng pirma si Shaq nowadays.. Meron na nga na Shaq auto for just $75.. Dati rati puros above $100 ang mga ito.. Si Duncan ngayon sobrang dalang..

 

Mali ako dun sa post ko about the Shaq Upper Deck RC na redemption.. Yung nakukuha sa packs yun ang mas mahal.. And yun yung akin (at yun din yung sa iyo).. Although yung redemption pareho din ng itsura iba lang ang nakasulat sa taas, imbes na #1 Draft Pick, may nakalagay na trade card.. Half ito nung totoong UD RC.. So $20 lang yung redemption.. Sorry dude for the wrong info..

 

Yep, was able to get some really nice autos (and the Arenas RC).. Kaso yung JJ Reddick ang tingin ko na panalo.. Ewan ko nga kung bakit nag-end ng under $14 ito eh.. Sa Topps lang pipirma ito so his auto cards (like Morrison's) would be much tougher to find that the other rookies.. Plus being a legend in the US NCAA might just help his cards go ballistic even though he has not played in his first NBA game yet.. :cool:

Thanks for the info, dude.. I actually know how the system works its just that I still do not have the guts to play the field.. I know someone who trades there sa Beckett Message boards.. Kaso madalas daw dahil your coming from the Philippines ay sila ang nag-de-demand ng first to send.. Americans are not too trusting sa atin.. Kasi napansin nila na madami sa mga non-paying bidders sa e-bay ay Filipino (no joke dude).. at madami nag-shi-shill.. (shilling means yung pinapataas ang value nung card sa e-bay by using another name.. example may nag-bid ng $10 dun sa isang card.. may friend ka.. you ask him to bid $20 para yung nag-bid ng ten.. subukan kunin ng mas mahal yung card)..

Grant Hill inserts? Meron pa din dre.. kaso npwadays close to zero na ang mga inserts sa mga products eh.. Jersey cards.. Eto meron (kaso hindi madami).. Yung mga bagong jersey cards mura na lang.. A Grant Hill jersey may fetch around $12-15 lang.. (Unlike yung mga nauna 97-98 and 98-99.. nasa $120 and $80 respectively - due to their rarity).. Sa autographs.. wala na pare.. Hill has not signed cards.. his last was the 97-98 Autographics.. Kaya kahit papaano mataas pa din bentahan ng Hill auto dito sa atin at sa States.. Sayang nga dahil naunahan ako dun sa Hill 96-97 Autographics for just Php3K.. Mura ito dahil X30 lang ito.. Sayang!!! Kailangan ko ang isang Hill na auto (but not really a priority) coz I am trying to complete the autographs of yung SLAM's top 75 Players of All-Time..

 

Numbered Hills? Dami ngayong parallels pare.. Kaya sigurado as long as merong Hill commons.. merong numbered..

 

Nga pala madalas injured si Hill di ba? Kaya minsan sa sets wala siya.. Hindi talaga ganung kadami ang Hill singles sa new products..

Pwede ka mag-start ng Hill collection ulit pare.. Meron pa din akong nakikitang mga Hill cards sa Galleria coz somebody do collect his cards still.. Ito yung mga collector that never said never sa Hill collections nila..

 

As I have said, hindi ganung kadami ang Jersey cards ni Hill.. kaso meron.. Even his commons in new products are not that many because of his injuries.. In this note, I recommend you to start collecting other players.. yung mga up and coming na rookies or yung medyo bago na player.. case in point, Dwight Howard, Ben Gordon, etc.. Para medyo madali pa makuha ang mga cards nila.. Kasi kay Hill baka ma-disappoint ka dahil kakaunti na ang lumalabas na Hill stuff nowadays.. But its up to you.. If I would start a collection.. I would collect Ben Gordon (if you are asking me..)..

I have been posting sa Beckett Message Boards pare.. Kaso usually only when a fellow Filipino is being stepped upon.. Naiinis kasi ako sa mga Kano minsan sa pagiging egotistic at racist nila eh.. Not all but some do treat us like s@%t.. I will take your advise into account.. Might try trading there soon.. Thanks..

Regarding Grant Hill, ok lang yun kahit kaunti na lang ang mga new cards nya para madali lang i-collect and at the same time hindi masyado magastos. Pero hindi pa din naman ako sure kung babalik ako sa pag collect at kung sino ang player na kukunin ko, parang sya lang ang top priority ko ngayon dahil sya ang collection ko dati. Pero tingin pa din ako kung sinong player ang maganadang i-collect.

 

Nga pala, ilan na ba ang multiplier ngayon? Kung yung $20 cards magkano bentahan ngayon nito sa pesos? If I'am not mistaken x20 dati tas bumaba pa sya ng x10 and even x5 during the 1998 player lockout.

 

And one more thing, magkano ang bentahan ngayon GHill RC Finest at Rack Pack? If I would collect him again yan ang 2 cards na uunahin ko kunin.

Ewan ko din kung totoo.. Ang pangit dito ay meron din naman sa kanilang namemeke ng cards eh hindi lang tayo.. Scammers are all over the world coz basketball is a global sport.. Mga engot sila dre eh.. :grr:

 

Atsaka inggit din mga yan dahil meron ditong nagbubukas ng cases and cases of Upper Deck Exquisite (and other cases of other products) at sa kanila wala ni isang makakatalo dito sa taong ito.. If you read my previous posts with kupalking you would see that Exquisites are worth $700 (approximately Php45K) per pack.. At umuubos ang Filipino na ito ng Php30M per NBA season on Exquistie alone.. E yun pang other cases of other products like SPX, SPA.. Taena luma sila.. This person sells his cards off e-bay and in his stores.. Sa Beckett forum nga lang madami ding naninira sa kaniya eh, sabi shiller daw.. Kaso hindi naman lahat dahil yung ibang mga posters dun kakampi nila kahit international pa dahil maganda naman talaga ang feedback sa kaniya..

Sinabi mo dre.. Si Penny ang retired na (sa Orlando siya nag-retire).. And no one cared.. His auto cards though still sell in the secondary market.. medyo kakaunti kasi ang pinirmahan ni Penny eh..

 

Grant Hill is (if I am not mistaken) gonna play this year.. Ewan ko lang kung tatagal siya.. His ankle injury is very severe..

 

The Magic is an exciting young team because of DHoward, Jameer Nelson, Darko Milicic and now JJ Reddick.. Although Reddick won't be playing kaagad because of that motorcycle accident that injured his back.. Still, he is considered a would be strong addition because of his shooting touch from the outside which might leave the paint open for either Howard or Milicic to dominate.. Next to the Bulls (with Gordon, Deng, Hinrich, TyThomas), the Magic is a team that has lots of potential because of the sheer upside and talent of its players..

In all honesty, Milicic's cards are not really that cheap.. But it is cheap compared to Bosh, Wade, Melo and LBJ.. But his upside is very high.. Kumbaga potential.. Some hobbyists think that Darko is a sleeping phenom waiting to happen.. Marami pang room para tumaas ang cards niya kaso syempre sugal ito.. I'd rather get Dwight Howard's cards than him.. kasi mas may ipinapakita ito kaysa kay Darko..

may halaga pa ba ung cards ng mga players na nawala agad sa NBA dhil namatay like si Petrovic of the Bullets?

 

Yup.. more expensive yung blue ink dun sa first autographics.. Sa susunod na mga autographics ang tawag dito ay century mark autos.. usually numbered to 100.. X2 ang multiplier.. so yung blue na Spree.. $60 yun..

 

I do not remember any jersey card that contains Spree's Golden State Jersey.. Usually, New York or Minessota na.. If I would sell my jersey card.. It would be at Php240.. I will try to post it pare, maybe, tomorrow..

 

Drazen Petrovic was drafted by the Blazers and then traded to the Nets.. Hindi yata siya naglaro for Washington.. Well, his rookie card did not really had much impact coz it was not rare.. I have that card.. his Hoops 1990 #248 valued at .08 cents.. Considering he is now in the Hall of Fame.. hindi pa din naging mahal cards niya.. Bobby Phills is another player who died early.. Still, his cards can be had for just a few bucks.. even the autographs are not that rare.. Therefore, death is not a guarantee for a player's cards to soar.. supply and demand pa din..

 

Astig naman yung sinasabi mong Pinoy na nagbubukas ng Exquisites worth 45k per pack! Wala na siguro mapaglagyan ng kayamanan yun. Ano ba meron sa card na yun bat ganun ang price? Me ginto ba yun? HeHe joke!

 

Tol, Meron ka ba kilala meron RC Finest at RackPack ni GHill, gusto ko bumili. :boo: Yung mint condition saka yung maganda sana ang centering. Thanks!

A pack has 5 cards yata and you are assured to have a signature, a jersey and a rookie patch autographed.. lahat numbered pati commons.. At pati commons nito are being bought top price.. Sobra, ito ang ultimate in the hobby at ito ang the best.. Kaso I don't open them pare.. I leave it to the rich guys and just get the singles that I like and I can buy.. Yung maluwag sa pocket.. Nga pala.. alam niyo ba kung magkano ang isang Lebron RC from Exquisite? $11,000..

DHoward's cards (except for Exquisite) are nice sellers but are not really that expensive compared to Ben Gordon's.. but his Exquisite RC is going above book.. $1600 ito sa ngayon.. yun ay kung may makita ka dito sa atin.. Exquisite RCs of the top 5 players are rare coz they are only numbered to 99.. Kaso yung ibang RC of Howard have still okay prices.. not cheap but okay.. and can be had for x20 to x30 depends on the rarity.. All in all, medyo madali pang makakuha ng mga DHoward ngayon.. That is what I think ha? But don't quote me on that..

 

Beckett is being sold at Courtside Galleria.. Courtside has several branches scattered.. I think they have one in Robinsons Place Manila and one in Megamall.. Ewan ko kung meron ibang branches ng Filbars dre.. kaso dun sa Filbars where I buy my comicbooks wala dun..

Just wanna share a small portion of my Tim Duncan cards.. the first card is the autographics card of TD.. It was one of his first autos outside of Press Pass and the only one outside of Topps (where he is exclusive).. $200.. The second one and the third one are #d 21 cards and are considered as 1 of 1's in the hobby..

 

The 2nd card is a UD 06-07 Mirror Images Jersey card #d 21/100 and the third card is a common card from 05-06 Ultimate Collection #d 21/750.. Yung mga bilog at stickers improvised lang yun para mas magandang tingnan yan sa display cabinet ko.. Binulugan ko at nilagyan ko ng sticker na 1 of 1 sa penny sleeve kaya hindi apektado yung cards.. For TD collectors these are unpriced cards.. Yung Mirror Images Jersey card nakuha ko lang ng Php300 ito.. di napansin nung seller yung number nung card eh.. Swerte!!! :cool:

 

The fourth card is my latest purchase.. its a 1998-99 Upper Deck Jersey.. and is one of rarest.. as these were seeded at one per case and there were tons of players, very rare.. Value at $150.. the most expensive jersey card that is listed in Beckett.. I have yearned for a card like this.. kaso naging mailap.. ngayon may biglang nag-offer.. Swak!!! Php3,500 ang damage..
