A couple of weeks back, you contended that, at that point of the season, the Hornets are not playoff contenders (ergo, non-playoff contender). Now, the Rockets who, at this point of the season, are in the same situation as the Hornets then (i.e. 9th place with still a mathematical chance of getting in) are not considered non-playoff contenders but a non-playoff team. What's the difference? Mabuti na yung malinaw para maganda ang usapan. Para hindi OT (and in the spirit of March Madness) - Had Georgetown coach John Thompson not convinced Patrick Ewing to go for back-to-back NCAA titles, Ewing would have joined the 1984 draft where he would, arguably, have gone as the No. 1 pick. You're the one who's claiming there's a difference.A non-playoff team is a team that has not or will not qualify for the playoffs while it is not appropriate to use the word contender together with the word non-playoff coz, as I mentioned in my earlier post, how can you be a contender when you are not qualified for the playoffs.
