guitarrero
i recently downloaded music by john dowland, the great renaissance lutenist from the british isles. what was very interesting was sax player john surman was in it, and some sections had improvisations. mind blowing! Quote Link to comment
sweeteeniah
Nice suggestion! That's where people should head next to further deepen their classical music experience. But don't give up on Baroque if you haven't sat through Bach's Unaccompanied Cello Suites. Intense! No.. you don't have to say that coz i am already into classical music.. Bach's baroque( air on the g-string) and prelude in C are my faves..I am a pianist you know.. a classical pianist.. but i am versatile or flexible I can play jazz, pop, upbeat too and etc. on the piano or keyboard.. baboyboy
just finished watching turandot on dvd and it saddens me that i can only watch them on video knowing that we have a vast amount of talent here in the philippines. we rarely see big opera productions because of budget problems etc etc. and the government of course will never set aside money for these things. also, most major talents would never take a paycut for the sake of art. in singapore there were opera productions where most members of the choruses etc are not getting paid. they agree to it so the production can afford to fly in good foreign talents for thier leads, and so they can provide beautiful sets and costumes. oh and some of the foreign singers they import are filipinos.
