What Is Your Purpose In Life?

Recommended Posts

 My purpose in life changes from time to time, place to place…

It depends on the circumstances surrounding me…

At the moment, it is to provide a good reasonable lifestyle for my family e.g., best education possible for the children, excellent living conditions.

Long term, to be able help others improve their lives as well.

What Is Your Purpose In Life?

...hmn,, tough question to answer on the fly, but let me see.

I've always beleived that I'm here to learn and have fun.

Make a difference in whatever way I can, change things, touch

people's lives, be remembered, make a contribution..

..manggulo 'pag sobrang tahimik, umawat 'pag may nag-aaway,

mang-away 'pag walang gulo, kumain 'pag gutom, matulog

pag inaantok, maging leader pag napapaligiran ng losers,

maging loser 'pag may pumapapel, basta play different roles..

have FUN and LEARN while at it! yeah!

As a Catholic, I am asked to be fulfill God's purpose.

As a humanist, I am compelled to find meaning of life on my own terms...

In the end, I came to a conclusion that i can satisfy both without conflict. In the final analysis, it's the trip that matters, not the destination...enjoying the trip does get u where u want to be in the end.

purpose: live for everyone else. and please my Maker? parang ganun.

The goal of our life is to live with God forever.

God who loves us, gave us life.

Our own response of love allows God's life to flow into us without limit.

All the things in this world are gifts from God,

presented to us so that we can know God more easily

and make a return of love more readily.

As a result, we appreciate and use all these gifts of God

insofar as they help us develop as loving persons.

But if any of these gifts become the center of our lives,

they displace God

and so hinder our growth toward our goal.

In everyday life, then, we must hold ourselves in balance

before all of these created gifts insofar as we have a choice

and are not bound by some obligation.

We should not fix our desires on health or sickness,

wealth or poverty, success or failure, a long life or short one.

For everything has the potential of calling forth in us

a deeper response to our life in God.

Our only desire and our one choice

should be this:

I want and I choose what better

leads to the

deepening of God's life in me.

-St. Ignatius as paraphrased by David l. Fleming, S.J. from the beginning of the Spiritual Exercises.
