They buy it from a different company-Vario Tessar.. Only Canon, Nikon, Olympus are only makers of million dollar lenses used by NASA, TV's programs, medicine field, microscopes etc..Even Sony buys lens for their chip production from these 3 companies. Sony started labelling all their cameras with Carl Zeiss, back then Carl Zeiss lens was an exclusive item for Sony mostly for the higher end range but i guess to lure customers they just started labelling them with Vario Tesser lens even though they might not be Vario Tessar quality... frosty Posted October 11, 2006 Share Posted October 11, 2006 guys, i have a problem. i have a nikon coolpix 3100. nabiyak ung sumasalo sa hook nung battery cover. di ko na nakita ung piece na natanggal... kaya epoxy is not the solution anymore. problem is part sya nung main shell ng camera. any help? thanks most probably hindi nya nakayanan ung weight nung battery. i use the energizer 2500 http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v240/jembo/digicam_cover.jpg it was a good camera...
