Singapore Travel - Hidden Secrets

that is quite reasonable. cheap actually.

just wished the y here in singapore (unlike the one for example in hk) had a better location as it is a bit far from the stretch of orchard that matters.

but again, that price, with breakfast, that is such a good deal. lakad nalang ng kaunti (mga 5-10 min walk, depending..) to the dhoby gaut station (tama ba spelling?) and you're connected.

i'll be flying to singapore this week and i'll be there for 5 days. wala akong itinerary. anything goes, basta i'll visit those places i failed to visit during my last trip.

i like to go where the locals go and eat what they eat, so if there are any recommendations on excellent hawker food, basta accessible (chinatown perhaps?), let me know.

My former boss said, Bedok has a lot of hawker centers which offers good local food. In my opinion, same goes at the hawker centers in Toa Payoh. These 2 locations are far from the Central, but - walang hindi accessible sa Singapore. Happy Trip.

medyo malayo nga ang bedok. i actually stayed in toa payoh during my first singapore trip and it's not too far, just a couple of mrt stations away from orchard. they have good hawker centers indeed.

i just got back from singapore. i stayed at value hotel along balestier road; real cheap at $69/night on weekdays, $79 on weekends. the room's really small and there's no cabinet, but it's nice & clean, and looks new. lcd yung tv (32" yata). if you're going to need a hotel just to get a good night's sleep (no resto/bar, no free breakfast, no pool) and don't want to stay in a ymca dorm then i recommend this place. it's a few steps away from the nearest bus stop and a 24-hour convenience store, and a short walk from a number of hawker centers and one good restaurant, boon tong kee, famous for it's boiled chicken - doesn't sound appetizing noh? but i tried it and it's real good.
