what kind of accomodation are you looking for? i suggest pension house since they are cheaper and if you dont mind going downtown they are cheaper there like pacific. hmm not sure sa rate ng shamrock but you can rent rooms there too it's in fuente circle.

the beaches in mactan island are more on the commercial side. if you want something more quiet then going to neighboring islands will also be a good idea. you have a choice of day trip or overnight stay.

 

also there are other options of beaches within cebu island you just have to travel 2-3hrs north or south. some places are perfect for snorkelling and diving.

I have dived at Boracay, Mindoro (Puerto Galera), & Cebu.

 

IMHO . . . In terms of water visibility, & diversity of marine life, Cebu is the best!

I'll be in cebu , can anybody help me on how to travel by jeep or bus to castle peak hotel . don't want to travel by taxi since it would not be adventureous any more and also i like to experienc ethe local way of transportation. btw, is arena a good place to have a nightlife? how do i get there from castle peak hotel?

LOL. ure asking how to travel to castle peak but you're not giving your origin so how can we teach you how to get there? but one answer for sure. no buses! di yan uso dito unless youre travelling somewhere really far. local way of transpo is basically just jeepneys and taxis. in certain areas may tricycle

 

now i can't tell you much about arena because i havent been there. anyway heard its the best among the bars and that they have the prettiest girls but also expensive of course. and dunno where its located either. best if u just get a cab nalng for that or ask the FD or the guard sa hotel:D

not familiar with mactan as i've never taken public transportation from the airport and if i do mag taxi ako. also i havent seen any jeepneys sa airport mismo bt baka may shuttle cla palabas. try asking nalang where ung jeep nila or vhire na papunta ng city like sm or ayala. chances are if v-hire going to ayala there is a possibility na pede ka drop sa castle peak but definitely nt sm. problem kc is location ng castle peak. walang jeepney dadaan ng castle peak from sm or ayala but you can take a jeepney a few blocks away from either sm or ayala na pupunta ng castle peak. it's 03A (signage sa front on top ng jeepney) if im not mistaken.

 

that's another thing. unlike the jeepneys in manila wherein u have to read each jeepney's destination in cebu we have coding. its the 3-digit (2 numbers and 1 letter) on top of each jeepney.

 

anyway, was thinking about it that if commute ka tlga chances are it will take u at least 3 rides to get there and ang hirap p to explain. i suggest mag cab ka nalng. fare would be around 120 give or take some.

 

just remember castle peak is located in mabolo. not too far from sykes and sarrosa

im not sure about jeepneys or vhire since i've never been to mactan using those. taxi or private car will probably take u around 30-40mins to reach the central part of cebu city. will u be alone or sharing? ive heard pacific pension and pacific tourist are ok and on the cheaper side.

go to mactan island or go south. both ways commute time is around 1 hour. South direction would be in the Minglanilya area.

i suggest mactan. there are lots of commercialized beaches there from cheap to expensive. however if you prefer snorkelling or diving then i would suggest going to moalboal which is about 2 hours south. i'm not sure about the beaches near minglanilla.
