iron maiden fans try listening to THRICE... real quite cool..
Hmm....
Iron Maiden - epic, majestic songs, thought-provoking lyrics about mythology and history. Superb musicianship actualized thru fine melodic guitar interplay, an audible rhythm section and ofcourse, excellent vocals.
emo - repetitious song structures. Limited musicianship. Weak, "woe is me/waaah my girlfriend left me" lyrics. Whiny vocals.
Why the hell would a Maiden fan listen to an emo band like Thrice? You're just shamelessly plugging your band in our metal thread. It's out of place and utterly shameless. You don't want anyone to diss emo? Then don't shamelessly plug your band in a thread that will make it out of topic.
MAIDEN RULES! METAL RULES!

Slipknot, Mudvayne, Stone Sour and Motograter

Do you really listen to metal at all? I mean real metal. Can you go to page one of this thread?

Due to my constant downloading of mp3s, I'm now about to run out of space in my hard drive. I have 37 gb capacity and I only have 7 gbs free space left. Should I buy another hard drive asap? If I get a hard drive, how should I have it configured with my current system and existing hard drive?
-
just wondering, are there any metalheads who also listen to classical music?
Yup, I listen to Wagner, Grieg and Mussorgsky.
-
Dude may banda ka ba ngayon?
Wala e. I don't think I can commit to being in a band. May work na kasi ako.
-

I love Shadows Fall!!!
dude buy the album "of one blood"!!! it's way far better than their latest "The Art of Balance"!!!
try downloading these tracks from the album:
crushing belial
the first noble truth
of one blood
NP: Opeth - My Arms, Your Hearse
Yup, I like Shadows Fall too. But I prefer their more recent "The Art of Balance" album. I like the clean vocals, it makes them more accessible and they remind of Testament/mid-era Metallica in a way. I recently borrowed "Of One Blood" but I haven't gotten to listening to it closely.
Seventh Son,
Welcome to this thread. Glad to have a fellow true metalhead around. I just got the remastered and enhanced version of "Seventh Son of a Seventh Son" with the slipcase. It's probably my 3rd favorite Maiden cd (after Powerslave and Killers).

Meh, I don't think so. He's just a hired gun there. It's not as if he'll have creative input or anything.
-
kaya pala nagdadrums ngayon sa Cheese yung drummer nila.
Cheese? Shet!

I think deathsaurer meant best British na active.
If you're talking about all time best British band, then mahaba habang debate magkakaroon dito.
You of course have The Beatles, The Rolling Stones. Can Cream be considered British, at least I know Clapton is.
Pero kung ka contemporay lang ng Black Sabbath ang pagbabatayan hands down...........LED ZEPPELIN will take the prize any day. As good as Sabbath is, I dont think biting the head off a bat would qualify as good music.
Just a thought! Peace!
Ah, the infamous head-biting incident. Would your perception of Sabbath change if you found out that this happened later in Ozzy's career and during his solo career when he was already out of Sabbath? Have you actually heard Sabbath or all you know from them is that Ozzy, that crazy dove/bat-decapitator, was a member? We all have our preferences but to disregard a band's music merely because of an antic done by a member who was already kicked out of the band when it occured...it's just damn stupid.
I don't even think you've heard of Sabbath and Zep equally to make a valid comparison. Yeah maybe you heard a couple Sabbath songs like Paranoid, Changes and oh god, did he really bite the head off a bat? How disusting. Their music may suck if they resort to such gimmickry.
Peace ba? Ok peace but get your facts straight before running your mouth.

-
The best British band ever is BLACK SABBATH. How can you forgot about them? -------> Sorry, that's what I meant.
-
Sorry if it's not what you maybe looking for... but I really cant help it---U2 pa rin po.
U2 is Irish not British. They come from the Republic of Ireland not the British-occupied Northern Ireland which is part of the UK.
The british band ever is BLACK SABBATH. How can you forgot about them?

I haven't heard "Larawang Kupas" yet.
Heh, heh, you didn't need to intently listen to the radio to hear "Larawang Kupas" sometime back. Parang naging hit din yun e. Kung sumakay ka sa jeep, bus or somewhere public and there's a radio playing, malamang maririnig mo yun e.
This June 26 daw ang Gods of Metal 10 e. Sa Caliente uli ang venue. Twice a month pala ang Gods of Metal series of gigs.
I'm not sure kung paano mapasama sa lineup. Maybe you can approach one of the organizers on the next gig and ask them the details.

Let's have a moment of silence to mourn the passing of Tomas Forsberg aka Quorthon, mainman of the legendary and highly influential Swedish black/viking metal band BATHORY. He passed away on June 7, 2004 due to a heart attack. He was 39 years old.
for more info go to:

attached is a picture of Quorthon
now playing: Bathory - Home of Once Brave

Sh!t!!! I missed the gig.
Diba yung vocalist ng Death by Stereo yung naging novelty artist ngayon. I heard sya yung kumanta ng jukebox hit na "larawang kupas"
. But back then they were really good. As a matter of fact my former band opened up for one of their gigs back in CAFE ROMEO last '95. We played WAR PIGS (Faith no More version), Refuse/Resist, and Territory (Sepultura).
And I miss Dahong Palay as well.
Kelan ba magkaka-gig na ganito ulit???
And to those who'll be watching LINKIN PORK...
Sa June 26 meron uli, God of Metal 10. Twice a month pala ang series of gigs na 'to. I'll post the details once it's available.
Hindi nakatugtog yung Dahong Palay that night for some unknown reason.
Anong pangalan ng band mo dati, DJ Flip? Nag-play din ba kayo sa Dredd?

Immortal666: I was wearing a grey polo shirt that night. Paiba-iba ako ng puwesto so I can get a better view of the bands. Nung nakita ko Archaic Argot & it was the 1st time that I saw them, I told myself "S#*t, may ganito palang banda sa Pilipinas." Tapos yung guitarist sa Eternal Now, yun ata yung manager sa Perfect Pitch sa Ayala. He's one hell of a shredder. Watching that show makes me wanna form a band again & rock out.
I don't know if you saw me. I was at the soundboard most of the time although nasa harap ako nung Archaic Argot any tumutugtog. I was doing some of the introductions to the bands and we were playing cds in-between sets. I was the one who did the intro to Deceased, Sea of Rains and Death By Stereo.
I was chatting with him before they played and he was actually nice and metalhead talaga siya. He offered no apologies for his solo, Bon Jovi-like "Larawang Kupas" stint. He explained that it allowed him to bring the "live-musician" feel back to being a solo artist.
-
yup Death After Birth...ano nangyari sa kanila?
Wala akong balita e. They would've been perfect for the show if they were around.
-
nah..i didnt...sad, dahil lahat ng yayain ko lumabas na ng Fri at ekups day nila ang buong sat dahil sa take home  (RAKenROL! ) kaya la me nakasama, my chic did'nt lyk the idea, baka daw himatayin siya kaya ayun...haaaay...will try to catch the next one though...promise
wud have been nice to hear DBS again...btw anobody knew what happend to DAB? or sila sila na rin yung mga banda na yun?
Rock on'
Well, hopefully matuloy yung susunod sa June 26. There's a strong chance that I might be there too.
Death By Stereo played a strong set, one of the strongest of the night in fact.
What DAB are you referring to? Death After Birth ba?
O eto muna picture ng nu-Metallica with nu-Anthrax.
Any Metalheads Here In Mtc?

Playing the Shitsnot song last night was merely a compromise with NU. The station had entered into a deal with Sony music (the local distributor of Roadrunner - Shitsnot's label) for NU to have on-air promotions of the band's new album. I guess one of the strategies they formed was to include them in an episode of Metal Madness. I guess playing Shitsnot alongside the real metal bands will expose how different and un-metal they really are. If you heard last night's episode, Shitsnot sounded so weak and inferior compared to the other bands we played. With that, the newer metalheads will get to choose if they want to stick listening to that band or move on to better, heavier bands.
But wasn't the show, great last night? As mentioned in last night's episode, we'll be featuring JUDAS PRIEST next month. We're also planning on playing power/speed/traditional metal bands that same episode. So death growls and black metal shrieks will take a back seat next month!
Seventh Son, are you going to Gods of Metal tonight? I'll be hosting it again.

CHILDREN OF BODOM - Hatebreeder
