  1. The Rockets now have perhaps the most dynamic and devastating back court in the NBA. Harden and Westbrook can now continue where they left off. The Houston Rockets have officially joined the Western Conference arms race.

  2. Lac?

Masmalakas pa okc westbrook and adams and pg.

Hhaha para sya balikbayan box fragile handle with care. Si kuzma susi ng lakers

I will indulge you using your logic. If KG, PP and Allen, indeed, carried Doc, then PG and Kawhi could carry Doc. I mean Kawhi just won a championship and PG was an MVP candidate last year. Were CP, Griffin, or Jordan MVP candidates?

How could the Clippers even get past the first round when they had no superstar to carry them? In order to win in the NBA, you need talent and superstars have talent. The Clippers weren't even supposed to last 6 games against the mighty Ws, yet, they took them to 6 games. At first glance, the Clippers vs. Warriors face off in the first round reeked of a sweep but the Clippers showed their character. What more if Kawhi and PG are there?

You're talking of the Clippers not getting past the first round. The Lakers didn't even make the playoffs for the 6th straight season.

Lots of random sh*t going on here umabot pa sa 2010 Boston Celtics at LA Lakers. Just want to point out that Kobe Bryant had plenty of help coming from Pau Gasol, Lamar Odom, Healthy Andrew Bynum, Ron Artest, Brown, Farmar Lakers team was no doubt a championship caliber and not some scrub team that Kobe Bryant had to carry on his shoulder. On the other hand, Celtics were also a good star-studded team but majority of the key players were already at the tail end of their careers (Ray Allen 34, Pierce 32, Garnett 33, Wallace 35..)

Back to 2019, the moment you add finals MVP, Kawhi and 2nd runner-up regular season MVP, Paul George to a playoff team you instantly get a championship contender. Take note that the word "contender" does not guarantee a championship. It only means you have a good chance of winning a championship. Baka nalilito ka, walang nagsasabi dito na siguradong mag-champion ang Clippers. Nililinaw ko lang. With regards to injury, AD and DMC are prone to injury even Lebron James who was known to be durable suffered a groin injury last year so it's not just PG and KL. Lahat ng teams kalaban ang injury. No need to stress this point over and over again, it was already crystal clear in the 2019 NBA finals when KD and Klay went down.

You're one of the few sensible Laker fans, padre. As for the others, never mind.

  3.

I disagree with the word "rebuilding". When you say rebuild you move/trade the franchise players like what OKC is doing now. They traded PG and looking for trade partners for Westbrook and Adams. They're moving towards a young roster with Alexander as the center piece. In GSW's case, they still have the core trio of Klay, Steph and Dray. They may have lost Iggy but he's kinda old na rin. If they can acquire good supporting pieces they'll be a strong championship contender again. Remember they have Dlo now so they can probably flip him for a good forward when Klay comes back from injury.

    They are retooling.

  4.

Marcus Morris just signed with the spurs

Excellent signing by the Spurs. However, he should be getting $15MM a season with the way he played for the Cs the past two years.

  5.

It was actually AD who recruited Cousins daw. They had a good run with Rondo so don't underestimate Cousins. He might surprise you next season.

Well you're not alone. LAC is the favorite to win the chip right now.

Yup, that's what I said. Well, we are not the only ones who believe that LAC is the favorite in the West now. Paul Pierce and Chauncey Billups think so too.

  6.

DMC doesn't need to be anywhere near his Sacramento days to be effective in this Laker team. If he can score 8-10 PPG at high percentage and grab 6-8 RPG, I'm sure Lakers are already happy. Anything more than that is a bonus.

Well I don't know who are the pundits you are referring to but the media and former players are saying if they get kawhi then it's almost 100% certain Lakers will win the championship. I can't recall any notable name who said that the Lakers are runaway winners with just Lebron and AD.

Cousins was recruited because AD loved playing with him in NOLA. I think Cousins' best days are behind him due to multiple injuries.

I mean the pundits who predicted an LA championship when the Lakers traded for Howard and added Nash.

In my opinion, the road to the championship will go through LA. LAC not LAL.

  7. The C's depth at the center position is a bit shallow with Kanter, Fall, Poirier and Williams. Hopefully, Williams develops overnight. Fall is a project while Poirier is a French recruit from the Liga ACB in Europe. He is a decent roll guy, a tenacious rebounder and a shotblocker.

Let me ask you this question. Has the clippers won anything. CP3 just wasted his career playing for them. So is Blake Griffin and DeAndre Jordan. What do you expect from a team that not won any championships at all. Since you brought up Gasol, Howard and Bryant plus Nash. The clippers also have CP3, Griffin, Jordan, and Redick. What did they accomplish? Did they bring any championships. That foursome did not last long. While they Clippers foursome stayed together for a couple of years winning nothing. Just saying.

Are CP3, Griffin and Jordan franchise players? PG was an MVP candidate last season. When Kawhi left the Spurs, he was already its best player and it can be argued that the Ws lose the 2017 WCF had Kawhi played and not gotten injured because of Zaza Pacheapshot. He was also the best player of the Raptors when the Raptors won the championship. Both PG and Kawhi are franchise players.

  9.

While I agree that DMC didnt play well in the NBA finals except for game 2, You are underestimating Cousins. He averaged 16PPG 8RPG 3AST last season with the stacked GSW. If he can stay healthy he'll be a wild card and a game changer for the Lakers. At 3.5M, I can consider him minimal risk acquisition. You could be right about Danny green being slightly overpaid but the extra 3M won't cripple the Lakers. It's a 2 year deal not really long term. There were a lot of bad long-term contracts signed this week and slightly overpaying Green is microscopic in comparison.

Perhaps, but his two injuries last year have slowed him down. He is serviceable but not the Cousins of the Sacramento Kings. He could be a game changer for the Lakers but it could also go the other way.

I can't see any similarities. Bryant and Howard clashed since Day 1 and I always said that getting Howard was a terrible idea. Nash was already old and injury prone. It was really bad chemistry all around. I have no doubt AD and James will get along. Rondo and DMC played with AD and they were able to reach the 2nd round. Even if DMC doesnt pan out Lakers just paid him only 3.5M anyway.

Yes, you are right. But the pundits that time already were crowning the Lakers champions when they haven't played a game yet.

At the end of the day we just have to wait and see what happens. Lakers have the necessary pieces and I think the coaching staff will need to work extra hard to be a championship contender.

    Exactly

  10.

Barring injury LAC is the clear favorite to win a championship. Not only are they an offensive monster, they are also the best defensive team in the NBA.

I have to disagree that signing Danny Green was a knee-jerk reaction. It was already common knowledge that the Lakers, Mavs and other NBA teams wanted to sign him weeks ago but Danny Green really wanted to sign with Lakers so he waited for Kawhi to make a decision. 15M 2yrs sounds big but Danny Green is a 45% 3pt shooter, an elite defender and a 2-time NBA Champion. No freakin way he'll sign another 10M dollar contract. I am not a Pelinka fan but in my opinion he did a decent job this off-season. Signing DMC for 3.5M is a steal IMHO. I'm hoping we can get Korver and perhaps Avery Bradley for Vet minimum.

DC wasn't really a factor in the just-concluded championship series. $3.5MM a season is reasonable for DC. I am not saying the Lakers should have signed Green for $15MM a season. I'd say $12MM max for Danny Green per season but $15MM is too much, in my opinion. The Lakers have a pretty decent projected starting five on paper but it remains to be seen how it will translate on court. Remember the much-ballyhooed Nash, Gasol, Howard and Bryant foursome?

  11. In my opinion, if Kawhi chose LAL, the Lakers instantly become a contender. Kawhi was head and shoulders the best player in that Raptors championship team. Now, with Kawhi choosing the other occupant of Staples Center, I think that makes that other occupant instant contenders, especially, with last year's MVP candidate, Paul George, joining Kawhi. It was reported that Kawhi recruited him.

LAC, as we speak, is better than LAL. Kawhi just came from a championship and although PG got eliminated in the first round, he was an MVP candidate. Davis and James never even went to the playoffs this past season. The two franchise players of LAC are better than the two franchise players of LAL.

The Lakers made a knee-jerk reaction by overpaying Danny Green for $15MM a season after Kawhi rejected them for the other LA team. Green was only getting $10MM a season for the past 4 seasons. Jeannie Buss should ditch Pelinka.

But hey, James will have his old dancing partner back.

  12. It's kinda ironic that Kyrie left Cavs to be "The Man" but moved to the Nets with KD.   Well if KD comes back not as good as pre-injury state perhaps Kyrie can still be the main guy and KD supporting him.

Kyrie is a diva "Robin." He was never a " Batman".
  13. The way I see it he wants to taunt and mock the Celtics to spite you. Unfortunately his lack of knowledge got exposed and now he seems like sympathetic to Celtic's plight. Well, the Celtics is still a good team and don't need his sympathy. He had seriously underestimated Ainge just because they did not meet expectation last season. If GH can reach 80% this year I think Celtics will be very dangerous. I felt the Celtics gave too much minutes to Hayward last year. He was obviously far from 100% but Brad Stevens was his former coach in college so I guess he really wants to jump start GH.

GH last year was not the Utah Jazz GH, although he showed flashes of his Utah Jazz form. It took PG a couple of years before regaining his form after a similar injury so I am not worried about GH. Chief, don't feed the troll. It seems that there is no troll anymore. Yup, the troll seems to be obsessed with my posts.
  14. It's not just the diva attitude of Kyrie. Will KD be himself if he returns from his injury? This is a huge gamble. We all know Kyrie can't carry a team. He needs a Batman.

Yes, Kyrie needs a Batman to win. The Nets are, indeed, having a leap of faith with Durant. Kyrie couldn't carry Cleveland and he absolutely can't carry Boston. He tried but he failed. He is still the best shotmaker in the NBA, in my opinion, those facts notwithstanding.
  15. well ang rumor talaga they didn't even had a chance to offer max because KD never took them seriously. KD even took a pay cut so BKN can sign Kyrie and Jordan.

I guess this means the Knicks will be the laughing stock of the East for, at least, another year.
  16. true chief. i think the front office of LA is confident of having kawhi sign on the dotted line kaya di sila gumagalaw. by the time they realize that they could not sign kawhi, even the likes of danny green would have been signed. come to think of it, package deal kaya sina kawhi and danny green. seems like wherever kawhi goes same goes with green. mukhang naghihintay yata si green kung saan pipirma si kawhi.

Chief, I think Danny Green has an offer with the Mavs but still waiting on Kawhi. Personally, Kawhi should have stayed in SA. My opinion is if Kawhi stayed in SA and Pacheapshot did not put his foot under Kawhi's foot in Game 1 of the 2017 WCF, SA beats GS and becomes the 2017 NBA champs and maybe beyond.
  17. Grabe galit nito sayo dude. mukhang may history kayo hahaha Dinadamay pati Danny Ainge and Boston Celtics.

Haha! I have no idea why the troll keeps on following me. Anyway, Enes Kanter is a good pick up but Danny is not done yet.
  18. I believe Kawhi is a versatile player and he can adapt to any situation. Back in SAS Parker was the main ball handler and they did great. What concerns me is team depth. We all know know Kawhi and AD are prone to injury and LJ got injured last year, Lakers need bench depth which will probably need impossible if they sign Kawhi.

The Lakers are waiting on Kawhi and this is a big gamble because key free agents are being wooed by other teams. By the time Kawhi decides which team he will go to, there may not be enough good free agents to add depth to the Lakers. If Kawhi chooses their fellow Staples Center occupants, the Lakers will have a double black eye. No Kawhi and no depth.
  19. You don't know who will replace Ainge because no one can replace Ainge for now. I don't believe Ainge should be replaced. They just got Kemba Walker and Enes Kanter. Boston is still on par to be a good team in the East.

Bucks improved? I don't think so. They just lost Brogdon. I can't say Sixers improved a lot since they lost JJ Reddick and J Butler. If Simmons improves his jump shot or even attempt a jump shot then I can say Sixers improved.

I agree that the Nets improved a lot however you should not compare them to the Celtics who are a consistent playoff team that went deep in the playoffs. Better comparison would be the knicks versus Nets. You're obviously trying to discredit the Celtics because you have a personal beef with MTC member Will Robie but honestly your arguments are weak. My question to you, should the Spurs fire Popovich because his team got bounced in the first round and most likely not improve this year?

Chief, you also noticed. The troll's arguments are not only weak, they are downright moronic. The fact that Ainge signed Kemba to replace Kyrie means that he wants the Cs to remain competitive. IT thrived in Brad's system, so did Kyrie but Kyrie has a diva attitude, hence, his stint with the Cs did not work out well. I have no doubt Kemba will thrive in Brad's system. I am thinking that GH will be back to his Utah Jazz form this season. If the Cs are to advance deep in the playoffs, the Jays have to take a big leap this year.
  20. It's nerve-racking that the Lakers have not yet signed free agents because they're waiting for Kawhi Leonard to decide. Baka maubusan ng quality free agents. Majority A list free agents are already signed. Ang naiwan na lang yung mga supporting cast. IMHO, we don't need a kawhi leonard. If Lakers can sign Patrick Beverly, Danny Green, Seth Curry, Terrence Ros, or similar players, I think the Lakers will be formidable.

I don't know but Kawhi seems to be effective with the ball in his hands as evident in the Raptors' championship run. If Kawhi were to sign with the Lakers, he'd have to cede the ball handling to James. Kawhi already proved he can win without a Kyrie Irving, Dwayne Wade or Chris Bosh type of players.

  21. damn sixers! you've got one helluva good front office. embiid, horford, harris, and simmons...now who plays the point?

Simmons is the point guard. The Butler trade to Miami seems to have gotten nixed. Hehe.

  22. i think so, too chief...but will he accept being 2nd fiddle to KD at brooklyn? he had his chance at boston. by the way was it KI who made the sales pitch to KD to transfer to the nets or was it the other way around?

I think so, chief. Kyrie is a diva who just doesn't have the leadership gene and this was proven in Boston. Kyrie is undoubtedly talented. He is just not a franchise player.

  23.

It's been a busy day for the 76ers. They sign Harris to a max contract then sign and butler to the heat. They'll be getting Josh richardson from the heat.

Keeping Butler to make a run again in the East would have been the right thing to do but replacing him with Al Horford is a wise decision. Horford is a high-character guy with a high basketball IQ.
