Why not just let Brad Stevens coach the FIBA World Cup team?

If the four of them make this team, I will be cheering this team since 4 of the guys in my team are here. Let's go USA Celtics!

  2. i was just wondering where the defense was? where was the effort to go for the loose balls? why was devance benched in the 4th quarter? what i saw was TnT wanted it more than ginebra. players on the floor were already tired. bakit hindi nagpasok ng iba. masyadong maiksi yung rotation. caperal would've given jones a hard time. chan would've hit some 3s. bawi sa 3rd conference? pagod na yung import natin. lastly, TRADE GREG SLAUGHTER NOW. walang ginawa...walang pakinabang.

Chief, I understand why you would want to trade Greg but Ginebra needs Greg against San Miguel. Yes, the effort wasn't there. They got spooked by the physicality of TNT. Hindi lang man lumaban. Ginebra is known to be a "never-say-die" team but in this game, they said "die" in the waning minutes of the fourth quarter.

Tumpak Sir! Kung gusto natin na mabawasan yung TJ- Rosario back door connection eh may malaking mama dapat na nasa ilalim ang that fits the bill for Slaughter.

My take on JB ;I think CTC will maximize his potential today..Scoring and Depending TJ ang gagawin nyan (as in wala ng bukas!).

The rest of the GSM crews will take this game 4! ililista ko na po.

Isa pa sa nakikita kong ipapagawa ni CTC today is to get physical with TJ...yan kasi yung isang bagay na di ina apply ni CTC,but today is different...I can really feel the need for PHYSICALITY and interestingly who will be tasked to do that brand of defense? a JDV? or a Raymon Aguilar? i will go for the later.

Goodluck sa ating lahat and may the basketball gods smile on the GINKINGS today! NSD!

Unfortunately, when TNT amped up the defensive intensity in the third and fourth quarters, Ginebra wilted. Ginebra just got outhustled, outplayed and outfought in the second half. It was disappointing. Aguilar was settling for dumb jumpers instead of using his height to power it to the rim. The vaunted back court trio of Stan, LA and Scottie were quiet but I think it was because they were bothered by the physical defense of TNT. The effort just wasn't there. JB also was bothered by the defense. Slaughter should have imposed his will inside. The Gin Kings deserved to lose this game.

Made a mistake. Yes I was pertaining to Hayward and Tatum. "Slightly inferior to PG and Kawhi" is being very generous to Tatum and Hayward based on their numbers last year. I like Zubac over Kanter because of his defense.

As much as I'd like to watch the Cs and the Lakers since they are really historical and bitter rivals, I'd like to see the Cs play against the other team from LA who have a coach that coached the Cs to their last championship and, arguably, two of the top five players in the NBA. Lahat yata ng Boston dati napupuntang LA. Doc Rivers, Avery Bradley, Rajon Rondo, etc.

  5. true chief. in a spread out offense like what TnT has been doing, greg seems to be like a useless bamboo stick. even the likes of taha has been licensed to shoot from beyond the arc. he becomes a liability on the defensive end. on the offensive end? i don't know but that's left to be desired. wala yatang mapiga si tim cone.

Greg is best used as a post defender or a drop-down defender in the paint.

Ang babaw ng defense mo, tol. The point is anything that your lord says CAN be interpreted as an order. And that you can't use the excuse that they need everything in writing.

"Common sense" ba nila ay equal sa DDS' common sense? LOL.

Only obtuse trolls like you would interpret as an order anything that Duterte says. Discernment....such a lonely word.

  7. i honestly believe so too chief. brownlee, LA, stanley, japeth will have their usual numbers. the missing link really is slaughter. 8 points and 2 rebounds for a 7 foot center. scottie i think had 8 tsk tsk tsk if we can only see at least 50% of the slaughter who won the bpc a few years mas ok pa sana.

Gregzilla may have been rendered ineffective because TNT has big men that can shoot from three. He's too slow for close outs and if he closes out, the smaller guy like Rosario can drive to the basket once he gets faked. Greg is effective when a team has a dominant post player like Fajardo but when the big men of a team can shoot, he is forced to follow his man out.

Slightly inferior? Tatum and Brown are great young talents but they have loooong way to go.

I was referring to the Hayward and Tatum front court duo in the context of this year. Tatum has quite a high ceiling. So does Brown. Kemba and Jaylen are better than Beverley and Shamet. As for the center, Kanter has the edge over Zubac.

  9. tomorrow chief...and game 5 will be on saturday! yes NSD spirit tells me there will be a winner take all game 5. greg gumising ka na at pahirapan mo naman si terrence jones.

I hope it goes to a Game 5 but Ginebra has the capability to extend it to a fifth and deciding game because, top to bottom, Ginebra is better.

  10. agree!!! triple-A game ang kailangan. but this breakthrough win was a really confidence booster. slaughter must dominate!!! that 7-foot frame must be a monster in defense and no. 1 rim protector. marami pa din easy put backs ang TnT. at least yung mga close out sa 3s nakita na natin.

Chief, when is the next game?

  11. Hayward and Tatum may be slightly inferior to George and Leonard but I have faith in our guys. But I am pretty sure Walker and Brown are superior to the starting back court of the Clippers.

Nobody in the Laker community believes the Bullsh*t statement that Magic was the reason Kawhi didn't sign. You said earlier Kawhi had already decided to sign with Clippers so how can Magic Johnson be the factor? My question is very simple, if Magic shut his mouth and was discreet throughout the process, Clippers was able to sign PG, will Leonard sign with the Lakers or the Clippers?

I am not saying anybody in the Laker community believes the Kawhi narrative. All I am saying is that what Kawhi said is plausible. Like I said, Kawhi did not want to play with a diva like James in my opinion. I also opined that Kawhi was 95% decided in going to the Clippers but still gave Magic a chance to recruit him. The Lakers had a 5% chance but Magic's big mouth may have sealed the deal. Again, my point is that Kawhi's narrative is plausible and I don't expect the Laker community to believe it.

  13. Celts lucky to have Tacko.

He's a game changer on the defensive side.

    Unless Cs go small ball

The level of play in the Summer League is not the same level as the NBA. However, I see some potential in Fall. He can be a defensive force if coached properly

  14. The late Celtic great Reggie Lewis was the only player to block Michael Jordan four times in one game. MJ called him the toughest player in the league to go up against and with good reason. Reggie was one of the best two-way players in the game at that time. He and Len Bias would have given the Cs a couple more championships.

  15. A lot of NBA stars are skipping this year's FIBA-Worlds. This gives hope to other teams like Espana, France and Serbia. The Philippines will have to be focused against Serbia who is led by the Joker. Although the level that the Joker will play with may not be the same level as when he is with the Nuggets since this is the off season, he is still an All NBA First Teamer and Blatche should be the best version of Batman that he can be in order for the Philippines to have a puncher's chance against Serbia.

I remember back in 2014, I thought we didn't have a prayer against Croatia but when we played the Croatians. we almost beat them. The Serbians may have the best center in the NBA but the ball is round and anything can happen.

  16. The only team I am wary about in the upcoming season is the Sixers. Now that they have Horford, the Sixers have another threat in the post and an additional floor stretcher. However, I am confident that Brad will have a scheme to counter this Embiid-Horford duo.

Walker, Brown, Tatum, Hayward and Kanter are an offensive juggernaut in the regular season. Come playoff time, Kanter may be a liability on defense and by that time so Time Lord has to take that big leap come playoff time. He has elite athleticism but he needs to learn defensive positioning like Horford does.

  17. I watched a part of the game wherein Stan made a ridiculously difficult shot using the left hand. All the while I thought he shot it with his right. LA also missed an easy layup in the part that I watched. TNT still has to win two more.

  18.

This is the convenient narrative released by Kawhi's camp to media. Making Magic Johnson the scapegoat to ease the anger of Lakers fans. If the let's say Magic kept his mouth shut, Clippers was able to snag PG, do you think Kawhi will sign with the Lakers? Of course not. The X-factor here is getting the 2nd option not Magic's mouth. Why would Kawhi want to join a super team and be the 2nd or 3rd option if he can be the protagonist in a champion caliber team? Take note that Kawhi actively recruited KD, Beal, and PG which means he really intended to form a strong duo in Clippers. Now, If he failed in his recruitment effort he has the Raptors or Lakers as fall back. Magic was a terrible President but this angle that he was the reason why Lakers didn't get Kawhi is bullsh*t.

The thing is Magic is a respected basketball and Laker legend and he would Leonard would vilify himself more with Lakers fans with a narrative like that. I don't think Kawhi would manufacture a story like that. I don't think Kawhi really wanted to play for the Lakers. The meeting with Magic was a chance to convince Kawhi to play for the Lakers but my take is Kawhi already decided on the Clippers long before he met with Magic. He was 95% decided in going to the Clippers but he still gave Magic a chance to recruit him. The Lakers had a 5% chance but Magic's big mouth may have sealed the deal.

  19.

Raptors and their fan base are more than thankful for Kawhi's service. Issue here is how Kawhi and his agent handled his free agency. If the rumors are true that Kawhi already signed the contract and still told the Lakers to stall the impending trades and FA signing then we can say he tried to sabotage the Lakers.

A diva won't play with another diva.

I read in an article that the reason why Kawhi did not like to play for the Lakers was because Magic Johnson had a big mouth.
