    The most feared henchmen of Apo. Rolex was supposedly given by Apo himself to the 12 advisers pero sabi nila fake daw. :upside:

  2. Ganitong panahon ay uso ang talangka or pehe as we call it in Malabon.

    My sculpture exhibit is ongoing until August 18 at Hiraya Gallery, 530 UN Ave., Ermita, Manila. It's located between Bocobo and MH del Pilar, beside Figaro. May shutterbugs (grupo ng mga MTC photographers and hobbyist) EB on the 18th.

    =========================================================================

    Meron palang grupo ng mga photographers dito sa MTC :goatee: I used to be president ng Nayon Photographers Club back in year 2000.

We just chipped in sa gas and off we go to as far as Batangas in the south and Baguio in the north pero madalas kami sa Nueva Ecija where my mom has a farm she inherited from her father.

    I was in 1st year at Notre Dame when Martial Law was declared.

    Ngayon hindi na ko nakakapunta sa farm. Hanggang dito na lang sa Metro-Manila nakakalibot. I am busy immersing myself as a sculptor (3rd year ko na) and painter (preparing for a show) while still working as a graphic designer for the past 20 years.

    Somehow pareng photographer, related yung field natin.

    To all the 70s peeps,

    Lets have an EB soon.

    ================================================================================

    =

    Related nga. we are both artists. Inform me or PM me when ang iyong show.

    Well, kami naman, dahil piso lang ang baon nuon hehehe, we only go as far as Good Earth Emporium, Luneta (naks! hahaha), Harrison Plaza, at "Ilusion" hehehe. Kapag may naipon, Pampanga, where most of my barkada are from, Bulacan, Matabungkay, Anilao, and nuong malinis at walang kamatayang, Aroma Beach sa Coastal (where I got my first initiation sa frat - college na) and Mabuhay Beach sa Cavite. Would you believe, naliligo pa kami sa breakwater and mismo sa nakatayong "Boardwalk" ngayon? The bay water then was sooo clean and nanghuhuli pa kami ng mga talangka. The air over Manila fresh pa nuon. :rolleyes:

  4. Hayusss frend. :thumbsupsmiley:

    Kwento kaya tayo ng mga pinaggagawa natin noon na gusto nating balikang gawin ngayon.

    Kami noon namamansing or fishing kapag gusto naming kumain ng tilapia.

    Ngayon ginawa ko na lang sculpture.

    ================================================================================

    Ang gusto kong balikan ngayon yung pamamasyal with my friends. Mga travel freaks kami nuon. parating pasyal dito, pasyal duon. Di naman magastos, basta budgeted lang. Yun ang trip namin nuon. Carefree, good clean fun. Walang inuman sobra, no smoking, puro kwentuhan during our teens. High school days are my happiest and most memorable. Sa Esteban Abada High School ako graduate at duon kami inabutan ng declaration of Martial Law.

    Now, am a professional photographer na after a looonnngg stint sa concrete jungle that is Ayala Avenue, Makati City.

  5. Got an email from a friend just now. want to share it with you:

    REALITY TSEK… sana magustuhan mo ito!!!

    Sleeping Gising, frend.

May multivitamins, vitamin E, vitamin C, royal jelly, tsaka ginko biloba.

    Dati, laging may inuman.

Balikan mo sila.

    Ikaw ang nagbago, hindi ang mundo.

  6. Guys, there's a wonderful radio program kanina ko lang narinig from DZMM. Its hosted by Willie Nepomuceno and Boots Anson Roa. They call it M & M (Music and Memories, ata). Their discussion is from the past mostly 60s and 70s. Its on the air 1pm to 4pm every Sunday. Kanina they aired music from the 70s with free discussion from listeners. You can call them up or text them. Kakatuwa yung mga tumatawag, mga decada 70s. Reminiscing the past. Very relaxing and you know naman Willie Nepomuceno, he then mimicks some of the well-known personalities of the 70s, from Pres. Marcos, FVR, Rico Puno, beatles, etc. Ganda! I chanced upon it when during my lunchtime, naghahanap ako ng mga magagandang programs to listen to on a lazy Sunday.

  7. Very dangerous times then in Mindanao...I remember being in Cotabato City for the first time in 76. Para kang nasa Dodge City where you see gunslinging men in cowboy hats brandinshing their Colts and baby armalites in public. Some rode horses, but most rode in Toyota Land Cruisers. Ang daming siga!

    ===========================================================

    Ako naman sa Arayat, Pampanga. We spent one holy week duon tapos gabi (wala pang kuryente nuon) may mga naglalakad na mga lalaki nanghihingi ng manok. after a while bago kami matulog, there was fierce gun battle sa foot ng Mt. Arayat. Kinabukasan umuwi na kami sakay Yabut Bus. Uso pa naman nuon caumoflage na pantalon, hindi namin masuot suot

  8. guy n pip / nora-terso (waving the boyscout? 3fingers sign)

    up to 70s wala pa calculator - SLIDE RULES!

    saan kaya may mabili pa neto?

    ===========================================================

    Sa Recto, University belt. sa mga tindahan ng lumang books and book stores.

  9. Yung "Roses & Lollipops" ni Nora Aunor, paired with Cocoy Laurel, co-starred si Don Johnson ("Miami Vice") na spurned suitor ni Ate Guy.

    =======================================================================

    Basta ako kay Romy Mallari and Perla Adea hihihi

  10. "sa ikauunlad ng bayan, disiplina ang kailangan" - slogan during ML

    sa ikauunlad ng bayan, bisikleta ang kailangan

    remember this song?

    May bagong silang

    May bago nang buhay

    Bagong bansa, bagong galaw

    sa Bagong Lipunan

    Nagbabago ang lahat

    Tungo sa pag-unlad

    At ating itanghal Bagong Lipunan

    (eto naman katapat sa kabila ---> Bangon, sa pagkakabusabos...)

    how about imelda's green revolution?

    *

    nice to see Carriedo cleared of the vendors...

    ============================================================================

    Buti naman nawala na yung vendors sa kalye Carriedo. I was thinking of kapag nagkasunog (wag naman) dun sa structures duon. paano makakapasok ang mga fire trucks. Also, those vendors na occupying the stalls may sindikato dun. Meron silang "branch" din sa mga sidewalks ng Rizal Avenue, mostly mga anak at relatives.

    Back to the 70s..................

    Ah Green Revolution ni Imelda.....is this the result why the Philippines then was a major EXPORTER of rice sa SouthEast Asia? Now, we are a major IMPORTER of rice...all because of negligence and "commissions".

  11. Today, 39th anniversary ng Ruby Tower! 1968 yun. I remember I was awaken by the cries of my late mom. Around 4am siguro yun. Dun naging sikat si Johnny Midnight and sikat nang Paeng Yabut. Intensity 7 yun at nagkaron pa ng Pinoy dance movie with the same name. Epicenter was at Casiguran, Quezon

  12. i believe he survived 2 assasination attempts d last one ws splashed all over the papers. everybody thought he was a goner until he recovered with his face contoured from the bullet wounds...he died of a heart attack sometime in the late 90s. another feisty journalist-commentator who also survived various attempts vs. his life was RUTHER BATUIGAS. Astig din ang kamoteng ito...esp. when he succesfully negotiated for the surrender of the dreaded serial killer Waway. :headsetsmiley:
    =======================================================================and I also heard then, but, correct me if am wrong, around late 60s ata yun, si TOOTHPICK? Sino ba yun?

Was banned by Marcos at the onset of Martial Law, kasabayan ni Paeng Yabut (ilang beses niratrat, ngiwi na ang bibig...buhay pa rin.) :upside:
    \=========

    =====================================================================

    The last broadcast of the late Paeng Yabut before he was shot I heard was at 6pm. Dont know the date. Narinig ko lang kasi idol siya ng tita ko. He was discussing about how short the skirts the women during those time wore. Kita daw ang panty kapag sumasakay sa kalesa. Kinikilig pa habang sinasabi niya yun. He survived the assassination attempt. Bakit nga ba daw siya binaril?

  14. anybody remember the bombastic radio announcer DAMIAN SOTO?

    villegas - yeba!

    ==========================================================

    Yeah, nakakatakot hahaha. ang dami na sigurong nasirang la mesa nuon sa kababagsak ng kamao. He was a nationalistic freak. There was this proposal of his na palitan ang mga bus and jeepneys ng "karitela bus" para daw walang pollution. Yung dumi ng kabayo puwede daw kunin pang fertilizer. Prophetic comments. Patay na siya, no? May mga gumagaya pero hindi na sumikat.

  15. At the BASEMENT of SM MANILA there is an ongoing EXHIBIT of pictures of OLD MANILA/INTRAMUROS/SAMPALOC/PACO

    =============================================================================

    Oh, ok ito ah! thanks for the info. pasyalan ko tomorrow (meron akong wedding coverage ngayon)

  16. It was rumored then that he was either a pedophile or a gay.

    The fiesty Labor Leader, Roberto Oca, during his campaign for the Manila mayoralty vs. Villegas challenged the incumbent at a fist fight at Plaza Miranda mano-a-mano. Villegas laughed at ang ignored Oca who eventually lost the election. :upside:

    ======================================================================

    Also the boxing match (inside law office) of Apo Ferdie and Lacson. Dont know who won or nagka awatan

  17. if you'll be able to read the book "The Untold Story of Imelda Marcos" (banned during the martial law years), you'll understand why meldy became like what she was/is...

    ==============================================================================

    From garage house to Malacanan

  18. Thanks for the info, bro. Kasi, if I'm not mistaken, in one TV appearance in the early 80's, I think Ronnie N. jokingly alluded to himself as being sajid khan. But I think sajid khan visited the Philippines at one point in the late 60's.

    =================================================================

    Sajid visited the country late 60s and early 70s. He was paired with Nora Aunor. Alam mo naman, hit na hit si La Onor nuon. There movie was "The Singing Filipina"

  19. After Arsenio (aka "Arsenic") Lacson, was it Antonio (Yeba) Villegas who took over as Manila Mayor? I recall his Yeba 1 and Yeba 2 fire-fighting boats docked at Pasig River right at the back of what was once PLDT bldg. in Intramuros. Dumi ng Maynila during his reign as Mayor.

    ============================================================================

    Villegas - a poor man from Tondo daw then when he became mayor biglang natira sa Forbes Park! It was during his administration that the Quiapo "freeway" (the one in front of Roman Super Cinerama then) was constructed. I was studying then sa Quiapo Parochial School, ang hirap sumakay. parating puno ang jeepneys dahil sa tapat pa lang ng old Life theater, naghahabulan na mga passengers. I have to make "round trip" pa from Quiapo to Pier then back to Quiapo papunta sa Dapitan. Super trapik nuon. Imagine from Quiapo straight to Dapitan (near Albert Elementary School), it took us around 2 hours dahil nga sa construction. Re routing pa. That was the first time I got a glimpse of the steel church - San Sebastian.

  20. The romance between Dolphy and Pilar Pilapil started on the set of El Pinoy Matador, a movie shot entirely in Spain. One of the biggest box office hit of the decade.

    ================================================================

    Yeah, one of the best. I remember my mom and I watched the movie after view the moon rock exhibit (rock was shown at a Science fair sa Pasay taft - ang haba ng pila just to see a glimpse of that small piece of rock which became a celebrity that year). I also purchased a 34 rpm record of the song sang by Panchito in the said movie. I think it was shot in Spain. Nahuli pa daw si Pidol kasi naglalaba sa kalye (shooting a scene).

  21. Hey, guys --- si Ronnie Nathaliesz ba e also the sri lankan actor sajid khan?

    ===================================================

    Nope, magkaiba sila. I think Sajid is older than Ronnie. Pero pareho silang Sri Lankan, Ronnie being a converted filipino citizen by virtue of a presidential decree.

  22. rite bro.!

    AHL arsenio lacson? siya ba ung nagsabi k EM na - so young yet so corrupt? :upside:

    =========================================================

    Yap, yun nga ang sinabi niya....sabi ni Arsenic.............Ernesto Maceda.
