  1. excuse me, baka GUESS WHO...

    ganito ba yung intro - "Life is sweet, on a one way street" :)

    ========================

    Ah, yes, GUESS WHO nga pala. nalito na ako. :upside: "and money....was on their mind"///// I have a 45rpm nuon pero hiniram, di na sinoli kasama ng iba pa :thumbsdownsmiley:

  2. Kita-kita tayo sa MCS. Punta ako ng Makati on Friday. Tex tex lang.

    Welcome sa mga newbie.

    Ganda ng collection ni Hitman ng mga dance music.

    Kailan ang balik mo pareng sliderule?

    Sige eb ulit para magkapalitan ng mga collection.

    Meron ako EWF - Gratitude, Sergio Mendez, Astrud Gilberto, JC Superstar soundtrack, hanapin ko yung swing ko na mixed by Boyet Almazan.

    ====================================================

    Sana magikita kits tayo. I have practically all collections from 1970 to 1979. Sarap ngang pakinggan. It comes in packs of 5 CDs (one CD per year).

    By the way, baka meron naman kayong matagal kong nang hinahanap na FRIENDS OF MINE by THE WHO. Its a long song with narration pa.

  3. Forgot to mention "Jingle", contemporaries of Arnold Gamboa, etc.

    Where is she now?

    Remember "Tange", the fat, curly haired comedian?

    Ms. Ellaneous

    ===========================================================================

    OO nga pala, patay na ba si Tange? ang gagaling ng mga ka batch niyang comedians nuon. Talagang maluluha ka sa katatawa. Nowadays, ang ko korny at trying hard.

  4. Joey Marquez gets up to 50 years jail time for graft

    08/30/2007 | 09:03 AM

    (Updated 12:10 p.m.) The Sandiganbayan Fourth Division on Thursday sentenced comedian and former Parañaque mayor Joselito "Joey" Marquez to up to 50 years imprisonment over the anomalous procurement of brooms worth over P2.9 million.

    Radio station dzMM reported that Marquez was driven to tears when the decision was read.

    According to the Transparent Accountable Governance website, the walis tingting (broom) deal was overpriced by P462,708. The brooms were purchased from 1996 to 1998 during Marquez's tenure as Parañaque mayor.

    The city government brought the brooms without holding a public bidding, the website said.

    With his conviction on five counts of graft, Marquez could be jailed for a period of 30 to 50 years.

    A report on dzMM radio said six others were convicted. However, dzBB radio reported three city officials were found guilty, namely city treasurer Silvestre de Leon, city accountant Marilou Tanael, and Ofelia Caunan, officer-in-charge of the general services section.

    It was not immediately known if the three continue to serve these posts.

    Sought for comment, Marquez's lawyer Noel Malaya said that, "the case is still sub judice and our ethics proscribe us from making any comment. At most I can tell you that we have 15 days to file a motion for reconsideration."

    For his part, Marquez stopped short of saying that he will appeal the ruling.

    "We respect the decision of the Sandiganbayan, but this is a process that we have to take. We have to look on the decision and some of the findings, and probably include some of the findings that might not have been included," Marquez told dzBB radio in an interview.

    The 46-year-old Marquez served as mayor of Parañaque from 1995 to 2004. He also served as the city's vice mayor from 1992 to 1995.

    Marquez was also a professional basketball player who played for Great Taste and Gilbey's Gin (now the Ginebra Gin Kings).

    He currently hosts GMA Network's shows Kung Ako Ikaw and Fantastic Man.

    GMANews.TV is the official website of GMA News and Public Affairs, a unit of GMA Network Inc. - GMANews.TV

    ==========================================================================

    Wawa naman si Joey.yung iba diyan (congressmen and mayors) mas malaki kurakot (now its 35% commission-they call it standard office procedure) pero enjoy freedom pa rin. di ba former basketball players na naging congressmen? di ba? hehehe

  5. Jimmy Santos made it to the PBA. He suited up for a couple of squads, U-Tex and 7-up yata. But he had a really short hardcourt career (<5 years) and he took the cue from there to try comedy instead. Acting of course, was much more lucrative than pro ball then. Which is why we often got to see Atoy Co and his buddies doing the rounds of the noontime shows and even the occasional FPJ flick. Because for all the fanfare that came with the Crispa-Toyota rivalry, players then were paid diddley squat for their efforts.

    On a related note, I remember that our duty team once handled one of Manny Victorino's sons at the ER (his kid needed some stitching) and I got to shake the former pro slotman's hand. I think he was officially listed at around 6-5 but he sure looked a bit smaller in person (6-2 at best). Oh well, dude's pushing 50 anyway and I guess the years just haven't been too kind.

    ================================================================================

    Oh, thanks for the correction. dont know jimmy suited sa PBA. Napanood ko lang siya sa NCAA. baka bangko. I remember then, dont know kung same seasons sila, napanood ko rin sina Dave Brodette and Dave Supnet sa NCAA.

    I think Victorino is not 6'5", mas tama ata yung 6'3". Saw him play sa fiesta nuon. He was one of the big three untouchables during his days, same ranking nina Fernandez and Guidaben. Looks like di nakapag ipon. Balita ko rin, na addict sa illegal drugs but nabasa ko lang nuon. not sure.

  6. hahaha when you think of it... ano ba ang trabaho ng Vice Gov?

    well... last I heard gusto ng ipa-appoint syang OIC ni Panlilio...

    but bottomline is the people did vote for him...

    so I guess they are the ones to blame really...

    ============================================================

    May work din naman ang vice governors. the past vice's were in charge of those charitable jobs ng capitolyo, ribbon cutting (nakaka bading nga lang hahaha), and most of all..presiding over the meetings of board members which is really important. This is the major work/job of vice governors.

    You are right, people (not my clan) voted for him but the really borromline, kapag na elect ka ba, you are the right na parati kang mag absent? receive compensations from non performance of duties? The laws dito sa Pinas are Ok but, sad to say, di pinapatupad kasi most of the lawmakers are the ones that do violate the laws. Sayang Pinas.

    Anyway, saan ba naglaro dati si Yeng Guiao? Ano basketball background niya?

  7. Meron pang Green Hornet (bruce lee as sidekick ala robin ni batman); tapos may pang hapong radio program si Paeng Yabut - Mga Balitang Gumagalaw...voice drama ng mga balitang nangyayari. I remember nuon Paeng re enacted sa radio yung nasunog na mga astronauts sa Apollo 1 and yung Maggie dela Riva rape case.

  8. si Tito Varela lang ata...

    did Yeng Guiao played in the PBA? hehe

    =====================================================

    Yeng Guiao played in the PBA? Nope, pero pinaglalaruan niya tax money natin by being a ghost officer (vice-governor) of Pampanga. Am from that province and nowhere in sight si vice gov. Hindi daw pumapasok sa capitolyo pero tuloy tuloy ang sweldo. Kapal nga ng Red Bull employing a person na dapat nagtatrabaho sa province namin. (pero nanalo pa!-iba talaga Pinoy)

  9. nice trivia ah... roldan played in the PBA pala...

    ==========================================================

    Also, si Tsong, former mayor ng paranaque, Joey MarKris,este, Marquez, once played sa PBA. Ang haba pa ng buhok nya nuon and he can dunk (one hand lang naman). Jimmy Santos, once played for NCAA but never made it sa PBA.

  10. The great thing about the 70's is that it was such a diverse decade-- events wise, fashion styles wise and music as well. While disco and pop ruled the charts, it was also the decade of classic rock and the "LIVE ALBUMS" which would later give way for the entry of 80's glam rock.

    Led Zeppelin, Peter Frampton, Aerosmith, Fleetwood Mac, Deep Purple, Jeff Beck, Foghat, Mahogany Rush, Jethro Tull, Uriah Heep, KISS, the start of Van Halen, The Doobie Brothers, Steely Dan, Rod Stewart. Yes, .... many more.

    Anybody here have acopy of Frampton Comes Alive? Perhaps you can burn a copy for us?

    Regards to all! =)

    ==========================================================================

    Meron ako yung 2 songs lang niya.....Show me the way......Baby I love your way

  11. maayos pa kaya yung tapes?

    i still have beta player kaso sa tagal baka hindi na rin umaandar.

    meron kaya nyan sa kahit vcd format?

    ======================================================================

    Di ko na alam status nitong tapes. Tagal na kasing natutulog. pero since na huling napanood ko siya sa beta nuon ng brother ko, maayos pa siya. pero nasira na rin yung machine eversince.

  12. sorry to hear that, my apologies,

    pero tutuong manyak sya grabe? daig daw si erap?

    anyone have the Vivian Velez Rudy Farinas Video?

    I used to have it when I was a kid, played it my betamax, (i still have a betamax, i remember bumili ako dalawang 5200 kay Alex sa Ambassador sa Virra Mall, pati yung pong kong binili kay alex, andon ba sa bodega)

    Vivian Velez was hot, nag shooting sila sa bahay namin (sa kwarto ko pa!, kaya kahit bata lang ako non, watch ako ng shooting, bold! E kwarto ko yon no?)

    ================================================================================

    mas grabe talaga si George, face frontal pa...si Erap, manyak din, pero hindi naman ganun ka bulgar.

    Yap, I have the Vivian Rudy video, nabubulog nga lang kasi wala na akong betamax ans VHS. I have this collection nuon. sayang nga lang, puro na fu fungus na lang

  13. Gotta check this out....truly hilarious ung Diaz-Estregan tag team...would u know if the husband and wife team of Scarlet Revilla and Ricky (Balisong) Rogers are also in the collection (b & w nga lang). :goatee:

    =============================================================================

    Oh, the DVD I was referring to was the movies during the 90s na. Not the Myra Mnibog, Isabel, Estregan, Cristina Crisol years. I used to have those sa VHS format pero wala na akong VHS player kaya nandito na lang gathering dust. Pati Betamax tapes nabubulok na lang dito. Hard to find Betamax players nowadays.

  14. Hi Storm. Kamusta na? Send my regards to Bing. We have been very busy the past year, wala na talagang time for socials. Hopefully, magka time mag EB sometime soon..

    Para di ma OT.. Esmeraldo Izon was a graphic artist diba?

    Si Nonoy Marcelo noong 70's nag break out as a political satirist / cartoonist. Nandito pa ba siya sa Pilipinas?

    ============================================================

    Nonoy Marcelo passed away late 90s. I think his last project was a book about Malabon. Dont know if it was released. I was about to offer the project together with Navotas but meron na palang naka pending na work niya during the time.

  15. Namatay daw sa AIDS si George Estregan, is this true? sobra daw manyak nung buhay eh... not sure if this is true though

    ==============================================================================

    George died of bone cancer.

  16. May napanood ako years ago pa sa VHS--"Sex in Phil. Cinema" which was basically a collection of sex clips from the 70s Bomba genre up to the early 80s. Would you know if this is already available in DVD format in Quiapo or elsewhere? That colllection included the classic rape scene of Ma. Isabel Lopez by a horde of salivating and hungry menyaks. :cool:

    But what was really amusing and comedic was that clip showing Romy Diaz and George Estregan taking turns nailing some starlet in the 70s. :upside:

    =================================================================

    Yap, Sex in Phil.Cinema is available DVD format but batched together as part 1 to 5. Bought it at Hidalgo, malapit sa Jolibee, sa kabila ng Plaza Miranda. Di ko nakita yung clip nina Diaz and Estregan. :rolleyes:

  17. yeah i believe u bro. coz not many people refer to bongbong as "bonget"

    sakop pala ng 70s ang GP models- annamarie gutierrez carmi martin liz a. isabel L etc... "bold" its showtime!

    ===============================================================

    Kasama pala si Isabel Lopez dun? Wonder kung sino may copy pa ng "Hubo sa Dilim" which was shown sa MIFF at Film Center early 80s. Naghanap ako sa Quiapo, wala na silang copy. : - )

  18. Gen. Ver was also called "CS" (Chief of Staff) among his peers...many still say he personally

    pulled the trigger that did then Rep. Floro Crisologo (Bingbong's old man & Chavit's uncle)

    inside a cathedral in Vigan in 1970 ( i think).

    ========================================

    General Ver is also "lovingly" called "Kulot" mas lalo kung mangaasar si Col. Barba.

  19. nice anecdotes, I remember following events at the time and one of General Fidel Ramos' "frustrations" was that while General Ver was under investigation for the murder of Ninoy Aquino, Marcos installed Ramos as "Acting" Chief of Staff, never actually giving him the title or position officially,

    Speaking about warlords of the north, I remember as a very young man being in Ilocos (Fort Ilocandia) during Irene Marcos' wedding to Greggy Araneta...

    the day before the wedding, I remember looking at the parking lot and I was convinced every single mercedes benz in the country at the time was parked in the parking lot, and Imelda arriving in in this huge white PNR tourist bus, trailed by about 30 cars, ambulances and uncountable motorcycles,

    looking at the ocean, mega yachts were docked and Lear Jets taking off and landing at the nearby airport, helicopters ferrying VIPs to the venue...

    then watching the ultimate of all "APOs" of the north... FM with Bonget, surrounded by bodyguards approximately thier same height, touring the Hotel with a sense of authority one simply cannot buy,

    and the photographers going nuts just snapping away at them, it was impressive for this kid at the time, and I'm sure a sight like that will never be duplicated in these modern times...

    =============================================================================

    Na imagine ko nga lahat ito during my documentary sa Ilocos Norte two years ago. I was even allowed inside the Malacanan of the North. I think malabo nang mangyayari ito ngayon, now with more freedom sa press. Lagot sila sa publicity and public opinion. The church where Irene and Greggy got married, nasira na yung roof during the great earthquake a few years after the wedding. My guides (former PSC of Marcos) told me stories about the wedding pati yung rush importation of flowers from Holland kasi yung tinanim nilang flowering plants failed to bloom on the required period time

  20. i loved the lingerie section.. :thumbsupsmiley: in the early 70s we did not see that kind women's underwear, but in '79 the Girard Peter Models changed all that. :upside:

    btw, any relation to Carlos Salazar--also a matinee idol of the 60s and 70s? :unsure:

    ===============================================================================

    Thanks. Nice to heat you loved the section. OO nga, I think their show was staged at Mirador Hotel? tama ba? I only read it sa Manila Bulletin advertisements, planned to watched nuon but ang mahal :goatee: Carmi Martin, I think, was part of the show. Then nagkaron siya ng kalaban.....cant recall the name of the agency.

    No relation to C Salazar.

  21. Vincent Bingbong Crisologo ordered the burning of the villages of Ora Este and Ora Centro in Bantay, Ilocos Norte. For the reason, they voted against his mom...Carmeling Pichay Crisologo. The villagers voted for Luis Chavit Singson.

    Now bingbong is now a charismatic leader of the group called "A New Life in Jesus" and a congressman from the first district of Quezon City.

    ==================================================================

    Am a part of Bingbong's religious group.......The Loved Flock.

    There exists a chilling blow-up picture of a confrontation between Chavit and Bingbong (with their bodyguards) wherein one can see Bingbong ready to pick-up his pistol tucked in his waist while shouting (per the shape of his mouth) at Chavit who is directly in front of him. Chavit has armalites (PC)-toting people pointed directly at Bingbong's bodyguards. Just wondering the feelings of the photographer at that very moment.

  22. Pretty neat collection of pics you got there, Pareng photograper. Galeng!

    Got any "Old Manila" b & w photos?

    ===============================================================

    Thanks.......have nuon before our house burned down late 90s. But I have this powerpoint presentation of old metro manila kaya lang di ko alam kung saan ko i upload.

    Off-topic....you can visit my main gallery at: http://abbeymanila.multiply.com

    :hypocritesmiley:

  23. Gen. Ver was also called "CS" (Chief of Staff) among his peers...many still say he personally

    pulled the trigger that did then Rep. Floro Crisologo (Bingbong's old man & Chavit's uncle)

    ================================================================================

    Ilocos Sur warlord Rep. Floro Crisologo was assassinated on October 18, 1970 inside Vigan St. Paul’s Cathedral. Lawyer Floro Crisologo personally opposed Marcos’ martial law plan. By the way, you can view the pictures of the assassination at the Crisologo Museum at Vigan. Historical.
