SMACKDOWN SPOILER FOR THIS WEEK

(1) Kofi Kingston beat Christian in an awesome ten-minute match to capture the vacant Intercontinental Title.

But, wait! Former IC champion Drew McIntyre came out with a letter, gave it to Smackdown GM Teddy Long, and Long had to take the belt back and give it to McIntyre. Matt Striker read the letter, which was from Vince McMahon.

(2) Shad Gaspard beat a jobber in a squash match.

(3) JTG & MVP beat Dudebusters (Trent Barreta & Caylen Croft).

Backstage, they aired a segment with Straight Edge Society.

In the ring, stagehands brought out dozens of boxes of trophies belonging to World Hvt. champion Jack Swagger. After a long talking segment between Swagger and Big Show to set up their World Hvt. title match at Over the Limit, Show destroyed all of the trophies.

(4) Women's champion Beth Phoenix vs. Rosa Mendes did not happen. Vickie Guerrero came out and said Michelle McCool is going to invoke her Women's Title re-match clause in a two-on-one handicap match with Layla.

(4a) Layla & Michelle McCool beat Women's champion Beth Phoenix; Layla is the new Women's champion.

(5) Rey Mysterio beat C.M. Punk via DQ. The masked man interfered, but it was Serena. Then, the real masked man came out to cause the DQ. The SES beat up Rey Mysterio to close out the Smackdown TV show.

Post-SD Dark Match: Big Show beat World Hvt. champion Jack Swagger via DQ, Swagger retained the World Title.

cant agree more..wala man single push for the IC title..i truly believe that matt can be a main event just like his brother. the problem is the management are stopping him.

Mickie James Released

 

On April 22, 2010, Mickie James was released by WWE.

 

The move wasn't a complete surprise. It's been said that management was not completely happy with her backstage. In between her wrestling schedule, Mickie James had been pursuing a career in country music.

 

WWE definitely hates it when their wrestlers venture outside of the company. It's a policy they won't back down from.

 

Mickie James wants to become a singer, so when it came time for the company to make their list of people to release, she was one of the first choices.

the main reason for her release was her backstage performance, she was moved to smackdown as a penalty for being late at tapings and house shows.

after being penalized, i think she has done it again, and the management has decided not to continue her contract.

if WWE hates their talents having ventures outside the business, then why let Y2J stay?

*Spoilers* WWE Smackdown Taping Results From North Charleson, South Carolina

WWE taped this week's edition of Smackdown tonight from the North Charleston Coliseum in North Charleston, South Carolina. Below are full taping results:

WWE Smackdown (Airing Friday on MyNetworkTV):

* The show opens with a recap of Big Show's feud with World Heavyweight Champion Jack Swagger. Swagger will take on Kane later tonight.

* Matt Hardy comes out with a mic. He cuts a promo on WWE Intercontinental Champion Drew McIntyre. McIntyre hits the ring and things get physical. Referees and security break it up as Teddy Long comes out. Long orders Drew to stop. He doesn't and Long suspends him but that doesn't stop him. Long strips him of the Intercontinental Championship but that doesn't stop him either. Long tells Drew he's fired which prompts McIntyre to get in his face. McIntyre is escorted out of the building by referees.

* Backstage, Teddy Long is interviewed by Josh Mathews. Long says he doesn't know Matt Hardy's status, what to say about Drew McIntyre or what to do about the Intercontinental Championship.

* MVP b. Luke Gallows w/CM Punk & Serena. Rey Mysterio came out of the crowd during the bout and distracted Gallows which allowed MVP to hit the Complete Shot and get the pinfall win.

* CM Punk cuts a promo on Rey Mysterio. Mysterio asks Punk where the hooded attacker is but Punk acts like he knows nothing about it. Mysterio still wants to shave Punk's head. Mysterio suggests one more match, if he loses he'll join the Straight Edge Society. If Punk loses, Mysterio gets to shave his head bald. Mysterio says he'll join the Straight Edge Society tonight if Punk saves his head tonight. Punk won't agree to it despite a chant from the crowd. Punk puts over his hair as a symbol of purity. The segment concludes with Mysterio promising to put an end to the Straight Edge Society.

* Layla & Michelle McCool w/Vickie Guerrero b. Tiffany & Kelly Kelly when Layla got the pin.

* Teddy Long announces a tournament for the WWE Intercontinental Championship. It begins tonight and there are two matches from it tonight. Christian vs. Cody Rhodes and Kofi Kingston vs. Dolph Ziggler. The winners will face off next week for the title.

* Kofi Kingston b. Dolph Ziggler to advance to the finals of the WWE Intercontinental Championship tournament that will take place next week.

* Christian w/Heath Slater b. Cody Rhodes to advance to the finals of the finals of the WWE Intercontinental Championship tournament that will take place next week.

* Kofi Kingston will face Christian next week for the WWE Intercontinental Championship.

* World Heavyweight Champion Jack Swagger comes out with a mic. He puts himself over, delivering more facts about himself. He talks down Big Show before Kane comes out for their match. Big Show comes out and goes to the announce table for commentary. Kane b. World Heavyweight Champion Jack Swagger when Swagger was disqualified for throwing Kane into the unprotected turnbuckle. After the match, Swagger attacks Kane before Big Show gets involved. Kane ends up taking out Swagger and Show chokeslams him through the announce table. Show poses with the World Heavyweight Championship belt to end the show.

According to a report on PWInsider.com, The Big Show may now be a new top babyface on the SmackDown! brand.

The advertised dark match main events for the SmackDown! tapings throughout the month of May features Big Show vs. Jack Swagger for the World Heavyweight Championship.

It appears that Big Show may have turned face with his knockout of The Miz on RAW last night. We'll find out soon!
