PDOIII
for me its better to return the program for discipline... but there should be check and control of the managing of the program... dito naman ang problema eh... ndi sa PROGRAMA NG ROTC... Quote Link to comment

PDOIII
i am a product of CAT and ROTC, airforce sa amin agree ako na ibalik... OBEY first Before you complain... ngayon ang kabataan, complain first before you OBEY Quote Link to comment
Bookcake
petiks naman rotc namen noon. Nakabilad ka sa araw, pero may kabuluhan. Disiplina at teamwork. Pag tag-ulan, sarap magharutan sa putikan. Pero on a serious note, come the time na magkagulo sa bansa (wag naman sana) every citizen will be needed to be conscripted and serve the country and defend the liberty. Quote Link to comment

Mind Set
Quote Link to comment
peterpan_20
Pabor ako ibalik. Pero in civilian application sana. Instead of military drills, disaster response nalang sana or traffic management in a community. Pwede din fire fighting. It’s no secret our country deals a lot with natural calamities. Traffic is also a battlefield for us. Sana Lang no exemption lalo na sa future leaders natin. We don’t need to wait for the Conventional military wars to happen, there are many ways to serve. cocoy0
You don't put a grade on love of country. Abolish mandatory ROTC. Make it a requirement for future politicians if you want, but leave out citizens who do not care for bullsh*t. Quote Link to comment
Fapuccino
Quote Link to comment

francis_0170
Nuong ROTC especially 2nd year, nasa social work kame. Both ROTC at CAT teaches discipline. Quote Link to comment

dc123
Isang issue na hindi masyado napaguusapan: Is the Philippine government really willing to bring back ROTC as a program that provides actual military training (including firearms handling and familiarization with basic infantry tactics) to students around the country, with all of its implications? People often forget that ironically, many of the NPA cadres (and some MNLF cadres too) in the 70's onwards were able to do so much damage partly thanks to the fact that they received military training in the ROTC program as students. As a reaction to this fact, in the 90s the ROTC program was scaled back/devolved to "magdamagang martsa at bilad sa araw" in many schools and universities, with most students never learning any valuable skill beyond how to pay bribes to bullies and underachievers possessing temporary power. Edited October 30, 2021 by dc123 1 Quote Link to comment
kano_d_great
Good to have! It adds colour to your life. Dito sa amin National Service, mandatory. Quote Link to comment
JackieM
this should be part of the requirement for graduation, Sa South Korea and Singapore nga ang requirement ay 2 years mandatory military service. I could still remember noon college ako kasama ako sa MP Platoon and in one occasion after dismissal biglang dumating mga barkada ko may dalang sasakyan at sumama na lang kaming magkakaibigan na naka ROTC uniform pa di namin alam kung saan ang lakad, yung pala aattend kami sa kanduli (muslim feast) sa isang MILF rebel camp. buti na lang kasama kong naka uniform ng ROTC and isang barkada ko na brother ng commander ng group. Yung kaibigan kong yun ay Minister of Labor ngayon ng BARMM. Quote Link to comment

Very well said @dc123 I had classmates who attended more than the amount of days required yet in the end of the semester the records say they lack 1 or 2 or 3 days, so ending is they had to pay for the number of days needed to pass that sem. So even for some students who dont want to pay for it to pass, for some reason these corrupt rotc personel find ways to add or force students to pay. And there are these collections they make they say its for a patch or patches for the uniform. 20php a piece. And of course during or after the sem you will not receive these patches. Multiply 20php to thousands of students who attend rotc and that's a big kickback. 1 Quote Link to comment
Muttley09
Derederetso ang pasok mula Monday up to Sunday. Hehe... Quote Link to comment
darkmaster
Wala man lang self-defense at basic weapons training.
1 Quote Link to comment
