Back To The 70's

JT....Ladies man ka pala  :D  tulad ni Bods (na alam ang naging whereabouts ng mga winners    :) ) Yes, I also have pic of Ms U from a photo shop. I remember it costs 2.50 then.

Slide.... Baka mga mali ako sa title ng Europa but there is one song of Deo i like very much.  Pag nawala na ang cobwebs sa memory ko, I will remember the title.  :)

Storm...nice concept, nice invitiation, nice work(s). :D

Good morning to all Senior Citizens to-be  :thumbsupsmiley:

Gawa iyan ni Sis Sunflower from USA

Hindi ko pa naayos yung PR ko tsaka yung invites. Dami pa kasing gunugulong design projects. Anyway yung isa raw print ad na gawa ko kasali sa ad congress. Sana manalo! :boo:  :P

Libre namang mangarap.

Hello augustmoon :)

Eureka...fellow Deodato fans! I thought I was the last!

I don't seem to remember Europa by Deodato...perhaps you meant Europa (earth's Cry Heaven's Smile) by Santana? That long wailing solo guitar number...one my favorites! CDs by Deodato...if you look very well in Tower...you can find some, the albums I most often find are Prelude, Whirlwinds and Live with Airto (it's medyo a ripoff because the Super Strut cut is missing...they used to play that 16 times a day in DZRJ before). Hardest to finds are Deodato 2 and First Cuckoo.

Ellen Esguerra...hahaah...what fond memories!

I have Deodato 2 but it's an LP :P

Dito yung Super Strut, Rhapsody in Blue, Nights in White Satin and their instrumental version of Steely Dan's Do It Again..........saaaraap pakinggan hehehe

Thanks for the welcome, I feel at home na here :D

Gilmore Digap is pinoy?? I didn't know that!

Honestly I was disappointed that Billy Cobham didn't come to Manila....but I think Digap was the drummer in 'Ave Maria' from Whirlwinds album. Tropea had 2 solo albums...can't remember the first but the 2nd was 'A Short Trip to Space'. I stumbled upon a Deodato MP3 in Makati Cinema Square...it has almost all his albums in it...quite a steal (steal talaga, bootleg eh) for a hundred bucks!

that's what I heard Deodato say :P

But I think Degap was a percussionist, not a drummer because his drummer there was the venerable Rick Marotta, man! If you're familiar with Steely Dan, he was the one doing that classy backbeat for Time Out Of Mind....

pare if you frequent MCS baka nagkakasalubong tayo dun because that's where I buy my LP's - kung my turntable ka madaming Deodato LP's dun :P

kinda reminds me too of Tom Babauta? :P

Yup. Makes you wonder what's harder: our locals trying to make it in foreign shores,

or foreigners trying to make it here.

Anyway to keep in line with the theme, i remember seeing the Commodores

concert at Araneta, we were placed right in front of these humongous speakers

na talagang nakakabingi. Ringside nga, ubos naman eardrums mo.

Bods, parang alam ko yung place na yun sa MCS ah...yun bang kina Bob? I don't have a turntable anymore so nagpapa burn nalang ako ng CDs dun, you have to wait a while to get it, but they sure do have a lot of vinyl.

Time out of mind...yun ba yung sa Gaucho LP? I got the last 2 CDs of Steely Dan, 'Everything Must Go' and 'Two Against Nature'...I still prefer the earlier work.

yup Bob's place - yeah nag-bburn nga din sila...

I think pwede tayong mag-EB sunod dun sa MCS :P

yup it's Gaucho's - that's also where Hey Nineteen is. I also have their latest efforts pero parang may kulang - it's not like what they have before. Too polished but all sheen. Mas magaling talaga yung mga luma nila pare...

Hi to all!

I enjoy reading this thread so much I have to add my share of memories:

- Ace bag

- Faded Glory Bang Bang jeans, braided on the waistline, and metal plate at the back.

- Bargain House long sleeve body fit blouse

- Supermax and Mighty Max hair dryers para we can flip our hair and bangs ala Farrah Fawcett!

Hi Liberty...You have to help me here... :* . My memory of the 70's is already depleted.. You can probably share the typical colegiala-party horror stories common during our time...I am sure San Lo is a world away from the green fields of Katiipunan but i am sure they are just as horrific and memorable. save the tusok-tusok the fishball stories for the 80's thread :D

Welcome Libertyr.
