in_vitro Posted November 21, 2003 Share Posted November 21, 2003 kng bago lang yng video card mo bka yng videocard ang meron topak. try to install ur video card s pc ng friend mo,tapos hiramin mo yng video card nya and try that on ur pc.in anycase uve proven n either topak ang video card mo or yng motherboard/processor mo.kng topak ang motherboard/processor mo, ika nga ni roxysnonie u could install more fans for better cooling/palitan mo yng heatsink ng athlon. sago, i tried a different video card (pero same type ng chip, GeForce 2MX 400 din) with the Athlon, same pa din na naghahang eh. pano ko po ba malalaman kung memory card po ang may topak? thanks po sa kuro-kuro nyo. (ah, JUPITER, if youre online, please do send me PM...) okay, the hardware: Compaq Armada 1560D laptop, Pentium 166, 48MB RAM, 3GB HDD. has floppy, CD drive, infra red, 2 card slots, parallel port, serial, and some others i cant identify... OS: windows 2000. problem: biglang nawala yung floppy drive!!! i check the hardware list and find it disabled, along with the serial port, parallel port and the Infra red. actually, 2 items under the floppy drive controllers are disabled. i dont know why and how. and i dont know how to turn them on. furthermore, i cant access the BOIS of the laptop... pag nabibilang na ng memory sa POST, walang ibang message about pressing delete to access the bios.... roxysnonie Posted November 21, 2003 Share Posted November 21, 2003 warz-if you really want gaming on your pc, theres a stall in makati square, they sell platform games, ala nintendo, on floppies, yung na lang last choice mo, as for access to the outside world, dalhin mo nalang yung it admin mo sa skyline, if not, kung tipid ka sa budget magellan...hehehehhe! for sure uuwi yung na hangang tenga ngiti, baka bigyan ka pa ng full access nyan! tipong scratch my back, i'll scratch yours... in vitro-baka naman maliit ang memory ng ram mo, depending yan sa games ha! i had etherlord ll, requiring min of 256mb of ram, video card was okay, eh i got 256mb ram, pero tumitirik sya sa mga mabigat ng graphics like crystals, water, at mga flashes...ayun nag crash ung pc ko! add ako another 256mb of ram tuloy. there's also the incompatibility of agp's! baka 4x lang board mo, 8x ang card...teka anong gf2 mx 400 yan? baka 32mb lang yan! tirik talaga yan,kailangan at least 64mb yung card!!! pa check mo kung saan mo nabili yang pc mo, baka incompats nga yung mobo to card. Pumasok sa BIOS - Try mo ito, hintayin mo yung Compaq Screen na lumitaw at press F10 kapag nakita mong may nag bli-blink na puting square sa upper right hand corner ng screen. JUPITER Posted November 22, 2003 Share Posted November 22, 2003 dudes! pahabol lang na question, i'm considering upgrading my memory to 1GB, i have 512mb of 400MHz memory right now na naka dual channel. will there be a significant performance boost if I do upgrade? i'd like to invest the money only if i'll see a performance advantage, sayang lang kung gagastos ako tapos kaya naman na ng system ko ang lahat ng applications. although i'm sure it wouldnt hurt to have it, as the adage is, the more memory the better pero siyempre concerned din tayo sa bang for the buck. i'm really leaning on the upgrade side of things coz parang future investment ko na rin kasi baka mahirapan akong makahanap ng same memory modules like the ones i'm using now, and i have to have the same ones to fully take advantage of the dual channel capability of my motherboard. can you give me the final word on this? a final nudge/nod will be my signal for a go ahead. thanks! since ur 512MB is already in dual channel mode, adding more memory will just slow it down coz the dual channel memory paging will be turned off. u need two IDENTICAL sticks for dual channel. this works for both Athlon and P4. unless ur using Corsair XMS mem sticks with embedded dual channel controllers. which are so expensive btw. I am currently using that video card (64 mb) and im experiencing frequent hang-ups and blue screens on random occasion (during gaming, word processing, even during start-ups). Im using PC Alert bundled with MSI mobo and it is recording temps of 56-58 so im not quite sure there is a heat issue. I tried doing clean installations several times, still with the same result. Im really clueless na po mga masters. Please help me. Thanks in advance. mejo problematic talaga ang MX series ng nVidia. lalo na kung Inno3D ang brand at 64-Bit bandwidth pa. i have a suspicion na 64-bit lang yung nabili mo kase ganyan din problems ko nun. sa asar ko, binenta ko ng half-the price after one month of experimenting. i bought the 256-Bit Titanium after. yun ok na. Syang nga, binili ng prof ko for 6K. Germany kase yun eh. Bibili na lang ako ng Radeon 9500/9700. ok sa games. para kang nanonood ng 3D movie. hope it helped u. kung tight sa budget, u can stick to MX series basta wag chinese brand. dapat ABIT, ASUS or ELSA.
