this is cool ha.. i wonder if apex is a good buy.. its locally assembled.. its more like buying a PC then have it custom built..

i have an old Presario Amd athlon, weighs like a hollow block! thinking of buying a new one..

even the cheap 25k laptops right now are better than my old laptop.. :D

OEM - Original Equipment Manufacturer

Nowadays if u go to a factory in China - Pwede ka magpagawa ng THUG brand na notebook (actually generic lang din un)

as long as u can order the minimum quantity ...

So ung mga PC Corner, PC Options nagpaparun sila nga mga 500 units (for example lang) then un

bebenta nila dito ...

thanks,

may nakita nga ako yung Do It Yourself laptop sa cybercity sa SM North..nasa dulo sya..

wala syang brand, generic, then ikaw pipili ng gusto mong chassis, processors, memory, hard disk etc..

although when i compared it spec per spec and price per price to a Neo Laptop lumalabas na slightly mas mura pa din ang Neo..

although I have feeling that Neo, MSI, ECS laptops all came from this same generic custom laptop, and was just re-branded..

--------------------

with regards to Cooltoyz, I compared their price to CNET's price.. yung mid-to-high end Dell Laptops are 20k pesos more expensive sa CoolToyz ha.. does than mean 20k ang kita ng CoolToyz for every laptop they sell?

pero ganda ng spec ng dell!..

yun bang display price ng laptop sa store sa US dadagdagan pa ng tax yun? when i bought my Presario Athlon sa Canada nadagdagan din ng tax e.. so di rin ganun kalaki natipid ko.. halos same lang..

plus when i brought the laptop here, di sanay sa init yung laptop.. namamamatay.. kase nga kulang ng heatsink pala..since meant for canadian weather.. buti under warranty at naayos din agad..

worth it ba magpabili or bumili sa US to bring the laptop here of much better dito na lang bumili?

-----------------------------

mura nga yung laptop ni openpinoy, yun nga lang that is a PENTIUM 4 laptop.. its not centrino, or Celeron M, so chances are madaling uminit yan.. and battery life nya is less than 1 hour.. pentium 4 is a desktop processor not for laptops..
