How good is it?:D I've been playing CounterStrike source at max res (1920x1200) with max eye candies (except for water reflections) :D Though playing in battery mode is not recommended :D My laptop gave up after 30mins of gaming in battery mode :D

Why do I suggest Cooltoyz? I just paid 113k for this (of course, w/o the bag :D) Compared to Villman who is selling it at this price :D http://villman.com/products/pc_systems_det...tform=notebooks

Got myself an vaio a-series as a desktop replacement - im very satisfied with its performance for almost a year now. I also got myself a vaio tx-series as an ultra-portable, performance wise its a ho-hum, but with a bettery life than lasts more than 300 minutes, merely wieghing in at 1.2 kg... well you just cannot ask for more ei? i dunno about you guys. but a vaio has a sense of style... sui generis!

Saw one ( MACBOOK PRO)yesterday sa Accent Micro. It is being offered at promo price. It comes in Black and White. Of course , the black one costs more.

I am planning to get one this week to avail of the promo price. Sayang din almsot 10K discount pag cash.

The dual boot sequence is great. Pwedeng Windows and Mac OS.

IBM Thinkpad R50e

1.73 GHz Centrino

1 Gig RAM

used it for three months and superb sa performance! para ng sapin sapin ung taskbar sa mga open applications pero mabilis pa din ang response. sobra din tough ng hardware (pwedeng dalhin sa bundok!) and d din umiinit masayado, provided by designers with enough heat sink!

sold it pag uwi ko sa pinas planning to buy an HP pavilion!

HP Pavilion dv1621

1.66 Ghz Centrino Duo

512 RAM

been with my new baby for almost a month now and ok din sa performance. superb performace as well! ok din with playing MP3s with its altec lansing speakers! True to its title, entertainment notebook nga! ok din naman sa work ko kaya am happy with this baby... :) downside lang is that mejo fragile and not as tough as thinkpad. office lang naman ako kaya ok lang... kapag mag field work na ulit ako, i'll just revert back to thinkpad ;)

Thinkpad R50e

Centrino 1.5Ghz running on 512Mb DDR333 RAM

14.1" 1024x768 XGA screen

Ultra Bay with DVD/CDRW Combo Drive Installed

Built in 802.11b Wi-Fi

consider the R50e as a pretty good investment, balanced in terms of performance and value. sure it looks like the typical IBM Thinkpad with the matte black casing, but it sure hides some of the minor dings and scratches from the regular commute.

definitely not a gaming and multimedia notebook, the onboard speakers suck big time. so if you're looking for a rig to play warcraft or starcraft, try looking for another machine. but, as a development rig, the R50e is very reliable. been using mine for web development, software development, engineering applications (data logger), and desktop publishing.

however, its the little things that separates and differentiates the R50e from the rest of the pack. some samples:

1. IBM Access Connections - let's the user setup profiles for the network settings in different locations. a user can automatically switch network settings with just a cllick of a trackpoint. beats manually setting up the network settings everytime one moves from place-to-place.

2. Client Security - sets up a secure encrypted zone in the harddisk, coupled with password managers, and finger-print authentication

3. Presentation Manager - user can have exactly the correct setting for power point presentations, movies, other display events without cycling through the Fn+Display Key settings... one click!

4. Easy Eject Utility - foolproof ejection of removable storage devices by just pressing Fn+F9

5. Thinklight - no need to buy the usb light available at your local computer supplies shop, the R50e has its own built in. nice addition but totally not necessary feature

overall, another great laptop by ibm. too bad the R-series, T-series, and the X-series may be the last thinkpads with the ibm badge. so, guys with the last thinkpads... hang on to your machines, maybe one of these days, the R50e may become a museum piece.

having it shipped here culd cause dead pixels? i asked my sister hu came home last week 2 buy it for me.. la naman probs sakin.. disappointed that i cant play FEAR at its max settings.. game lags.. but its a laptop, not a gaming rig.. the 17" wide screen is beautiful!

well... sometimes yeah :D Even land travel can cause dead pixels :D A friend of mine bought an LCD at the local distro, checked it there for dead pixels.... nada :D When he got home, BOOM! 2-4 dead pixels :D

Anyway, it doesn't usually happen :D My dell 2405fpw was shipped here and never had any pixels whatsoever :D sweet :D

the 17" inch is sweeeeeeeet :D I just love it :D esp @ 1920x1200 mode! :D omg, it was a tear jerker :D LOL :D

Yup, Viao models looks definitely chic.  But what will you do with your stylish unit if it gives up on you on the inside?  :P

By the way, any of you guys who have been using NEO laptops for over a year now?  Can you give some feedbacks about its performance?  Just curious since their prices are unbelievably low and was wondering if its worth the buy.  Thanks in advance!

i recently purchased a neo laptop. so far satisfied naman ako. I have friends that purchased neo laptop during the pldt tie up. So far after 3 years, the laptop is still working fine. Except yung isa dead na yung battery... (I think sakit naman ata ng lahat ng laptop yun)
