FunkyGuru
This one is one of my favourite ones. I know the original. The translation in English is also impressive. When at times I face some difficult situation, I think of this. This is my prayer to thee, my lord - strike, strike at the root of penury in my heart. Give me the strength lightly to bear my joys and sorrows. Give me the strength to make my love fruitful in service. Give me the strength never to disown the poor or bend my knees before insolent might. Give me the strength to raise my mind high above daily trifles. And give me the strength to surrender my strength to thy will with love. ----Hope my friends like this. :hypocritesmiley: Quote Link to comment

James Richard
God's Cake Sometimes we wonder, "What did I do to deserve this?" or "Why did Godhave to do this to me?" Here is a wonderful explanation! A daughter istelling her Mother how everything is going wrong, she's failing algebra, her boyfriend broke up with her and her best friend is moving away. Meanwhile, her Mother is baking a cake and asks her daughter if shewould like a snack, and the daughter says, "Absolutely Mom, I love yourcake." "Here, have some cooking oil," her Mother offers. "Yuck" says herdaughter. "How about a couple raw eggs?" "Gross, Mom!" "Would you like some flour then? Or maybe baking soda?" "Mom, those areall yucky!" To which the mother replies: "Yes, all those things seem bad all bythemselves. But when they are put together in the right way, they make awonderfully delicious cake! God works the same way. Many times we wonder why He would let us gothrough such bad and difficult times. But God knows that when He putsthese things all in His order, they always work for good! We just haveto trust Him and, eventually, they will all make something wonderful! God is crazy about you. He sends you flowers every spring and a sunriseevery morning. Whenever you want to talk, He'll listen. He can live anywhere in theuniverse, and He chose your heart. :mtc: Quote Link to comment

Thank you for bleesing us with a wonderful daughter who takes away my stress when I arrive home from work. Be with us always, guide us in all our endeavors. Keep us from any form of harm and evil. Amen. P.S. Take good care of my friend Kristin. Keep her healthy and away from sickness... because when she happens to get sick, it will give me a valid reason to visit her. Quote Link to comment
FunkyGuru
Where the mind is without fear and the head is held high;Where knowledge is free;Where the world has not been broken up into fragments by narrow domestic walls;Where words come out from the depth of truth;Where tireless striving stretches its arms towards perfection:Where the clear stream of reason has not lost its way into the dreary desert sand of dead habit;Where the mind is lead forward by thee into ever-widening thought and action—Into that heaven of freedom, my Father, let my country awake. -- By Rabindranath Tagore Quote Link to comment

James Richard
Pray to San Lorenzo and make a wish... THE country marks today the martyrdom of Lorenzo Ruiz, the first Filipino saint who chose to "die a thousand deaths" than renounce his faith 368 years ago. San Lorenzo, whose parish church in Manila bears his name, was the only layman martyred along with 15 missionaries in Japan on Sept. 28, 1637 :mtc: Quote Link to comment
