MODERATOR tamago Posted August 25, 2004 MODERATOR Share Posted August 25, 2004 actually, there's nothing so special about starbucks. it's just a place for people to hang out (w/c i do cuz my friends always wanna go there). other than that, i don't see what's superb about the place. i still think it's a rip off to pay P60+ for a frigging cup of coffee. masaya na ako sa 3-in-1 then haluan mo ng chocolate. presto! may mocha ka na Quote Link to comment
Grimace
its said its the coolese since Meg Ryan did walk all over it and celebs got it all in the papers...i like starbucks ,its a lifestyle and i getta work better when im in it, Saturdays beside megamall i used togo there and tinker and send email and sipping my frappuccino..im trying other shops but its still Starbucks for me! pugadbaboy
I think sila lang kasi nagpauso ng different "flavors/types" of coffee sa pinas and you can't deny na masarap talaga ang "flavored" coffee ... other than that wala na - so now na medyo marami na ring coffee-houses - parang normal na ang starbucks. Oh yeah wait meron pa pala - they are American-owned so malaki ang backing na pera so kayang-kaya magtayo ng maraming branches. Quote Link to comment
pitoykodako
The big bucks behind starbucks can't be ignored. We get the benefit of millions spent on perfecting the right flavors as well as the economies of scale starbucks commands in sourcing the best coffeebeans around the world in 1 coffee cup. But the pricing model as far as the Philippines is concerned is ludicrous. I wouldn't spend a single centavo on coffee priced that high - we're talking 1 cup > 1 day's miminum wage. The fact that Starbucks is successful in the Philippines illustrates the economic inequities we have at home. Quote Link to comment
ALEXXX
bro and sis ..try nyo javanilla ng seatlles best...the best Tsalapp! Quote Link to comment
maxsting
There's nothing special really about Starbucks. But how come we still go back? Well, lets all admit that its a nice place to hang out coz of the ambience, the smell of coffee and sometimes nice jazz music. Its a good place to meet up with business associates, old friends or family. Yah i know the coffee is expensive and not really that great but heck its your choice if you wana go there or to Jollibee perhaps? Quote Link to comment
Spurt
its a household name now. easy to identify because its almost anywhere. to say it's special, we have to compare it with other coffee shops, well, getting a place to talk business with local or foreign, you'll find starbucks inexpensive and appropriate. kidyot214
i agree with spurt & also they were abl to take good care of their name. even with hundreds of branches popping out in all corners i would say that their quality is still above par. (also good marketing & advertising team) Quote Link to comment
ryc100
i agree with Spurt and kidyot214 its the most accessible coffee shop, thats why its a household name already. Quote Link to comment
strong_cock
Starbuck's in Manila doubles as a library. Students go there, buy one coffee and stays there for hours. Quote Link to comment
hsmeilop
Starbucks here in cebu is considered THE "social" coffeeshop. High priced. I still prefer Bo's Coffee Club. Quote Link to comment
gorgonite
nice place, good furnishing, just like the other popular coffee joints.the coffee itself is not so special. at least its better than instant coffee. Quote Link to comment
