Great Milenko
Quote Link to comment
hardtohandle
Alexander was exposed pala dun sa laban nya... Akala ko tuloy-tuloy na ang blowout wins nya, back to the drawing board tuloy. I was betting on him to demolished Silva because Silva was not that explosive in his fights... Quote Link to comment
MRyoso
alexander exposed his weakness on the silva fight silva was good in the ground and a great striker as well i just wondered why alexander opted to clinch frankie edgar impressed me with his victory against fisher good takedowns! Larry
Hendo/Silva was confirmed by Dana at the UFC 78 post fight presser. Joe Silva really doesn't want Anderson to take a break LOL! Houston Alexander looked like he was fighting in UFC 1, no ground game at all. But that left handed choke slam (yes the same move that Undertaker does, chokes the guy with one hand, picks him up and slams him) by Alexander was sweet IMO. Karo was exceptionally boring this time around. I think Goldie should change his nickname to Karo "The Slow Simmer" Parisyan. Bisping/Evans was meh. Joe Lauzon was great as expected, very slick submission and was very confident, of course it helped that Reinhardt seemed intimidated, and was about 3 inches shorter. Frankie Edgar looked promising Quote Link to comment
Capt Spaulding
Quote Link to comment
berserker15
Most of the fights are boring. I think houston should move to another training camp. He should improve his ground skills. Rashad vs Michael is also boring kahit may mga good take downs siya kay Michael. Quote Link to comment
Larry
Karo doesn't know how to finish, I think some of his drive was taken away by Diego Sanchez. one thing I noticed about karo was how didnt go for subs this time around, he almost always went for the GnP whenever he got Ryo on the ground. I wonder if training with Randy caused this. J-Lau's fight was decent IMO. Quote Link to comment
SevenZeroFive
@ Larryi saw Karo try to pull a standing kimura, the one he usually tries in his previous fights, but Chonan was able to block it.. he did look lackluster, and maybe it's the fact that Chonan is that good or Karo is out of shape.. i haven't seen the prelims, and judging from the results they might be better than the main card.. i heard Gono had his usual flashy entrance sans the stage of course, and he backed up his flash with an armbar.. have to see all the dark bouts (including still the J-Lau fight; reminds me of Genki Sudo subbing Leigh Remedios back in UFC 38 with the same RNC transition).. Houston is a project, and if he moves to a reputed camp like Xtreme Couture, Greg Jackson's or Juanito's he'll definitely get better.. Quote Link to comment
Olympus
Karo needs more standup power so he can be more deadly in both standup and in GNP Quote Link to comment
berserker15
2 lang napanood ko sa prelim fights. Joe Lauzon vs Jason Reinhardt is ok. mabilis lang natapos .Thiago Alves vs Chris Lytle is the best yata. maganda standup game ng dalawa. sayang lang na stop ng doctor kahit hindi na dumudugo yung cut ni Chris Lytle. there should be a rematch Edited November 19, 2007 by berserker15 Quote Link to comment
Larry
i saw Karo try to pull a standing kimura, the one he usually tries in his previous fights, but Chonan was able to block it.. he did look lackluster, and maybe it's the fact that Chonan is that good or Karo is out of shape.. I was thinking this too when i re-watched it, maybe chonan was just that good that he stopped all Karo's subs, but then again, when was the last time you saw Karo finish someone? His judo is great, but he better start finishing his fights soon or Dana will push his title shot as far back as he can. Houston is a project, and if he moves to a reputed camp like Xtreme Couture, Greg Jackson's or Juanito's he'll definitely get better.. he needs to train BJJ/Wrestling anything to help him out on the ground, even Joe Rogan can tap him out in a grappling match. He should train with Chuck. I see him developing into a Liddell type fighter, no ground skills but has a very good sprawl and excellent takedown defense that grapplers find him difficult to get to the ground, plus really heavy hands that all he needs is one punch. He should get on that quickly though, or he might turn into a Vitor or Marvin Eastman and just fade away. Quote Link to comment
