Duterte's Presidency : Expectations, Controversies, Rants, Etc.

Recommended Posts

Well your on the wrong place asking for data that you want to be legit.

The TRAIN is just one of the master strokes of the Duterte administration. The rise in fuel is minimal compared to the savings that each worker will have, compliments of the TRAIN.

henyo talaga si lodi and his minions

Giving more take-home pay to the workers is indeed a master stroke. It would stimulate the local economy with increased buying power of the people.

The increase in fuel tax is most probably from the advice of Budget Secretary Diokno. He is a firm believer that higher fuel prices is actually good for the country. It encourages people to limit their use. It encourages businesses to improve their process efficiencies to reduce fuel use. In the long term, it prepares us to be efficient in order to be competitive.

Yup. However, some trolls have either a shallow understanding or really don't understand what the TRAIN is all about.

the poor have no benefits on the TRAIN Bill it will cause havoc on petroleum prices for the next 3 years at syempre kasunod nito ang presyo ng fare, commodities etc etc... YAN NA OK NABA SAYO YAN!

CNN Philippines have a quite sensible article on the train bill http://cnnphilippines.com/news/2017/12/13/congress-passes-tax-reform.html

master stroke? lol

inflation affects everybody. lower tax for lower and middle class is good, but only for those who have been and are still paying income taxes. what about those who are so poor that they don't have any significant income in the first place? or those who are paying fixed taxes for their small businesses (such as market and street vendors)? they end up spending more in their operations due to rising commodity prices.

i heard that the government will give out 200 pesos to help the lower class families that will be affected. if this is true, then they are actually admitting to the fact that train is anti-poor. such dole-outs will be taken from the taxes we pay. this also presents more opportunities for corruption.

train could have been good if petroleum products and coal mining have been excluded.

sorry na lang si pobreng juan dela cruz na automatikong kinakaltasan ng buwis tuwing sasahod at sapul sa tax ng lahat ng bilihin. since napakadali niyang mabuwisan at walang lusot, tax him some more. that’s the easiest and sure bet way to generate revenues for the gov’t.

is that what social equality is all about?

yun na lang income tax ... yun mga maliliit ang kinikita na swelduhan walang ligtas yan sa buwis kasi automatic na nawiwithold na buwis samantalang yun mga negosyante they do tax management or at wost evade taxes on whatever arising tax liabilities. even those higher ups in the corporate world, yun iba sa sinasahid nila are disguised in the form of allowance or representation para lang maging non taxable.

bottomline, tax is not bad as long as it will be put into good use and equitable. in this case the latter is in question ... as to some of the items in the train.

In basic theory that is correct.

But in this case while net take home pay will increase so does prices of goods and services bec of direct and indirect effect of train. for example sa gasoline excise tax lang na halos 3 pesos per liter. But that will also have an indirect impact on the prices of goods and services because manufactuters will now include this in their pricing. Will it really have enough impact left to stimulate the economy?

So what about those min wage earners na talaga naman no need to pay taxes before. How will their purchasing power increase? Liliit pa nga actually.

So on one end you have those who may increase consumption but on the oher end eh magbabawas nan yun di tumaas ang take home pay. Di kaya offsetting o best case minimal impact. I think the economic managers projected higher tax collection on the assumption existing demand is maintained. I dont think this is about pump priming the economy. Dont make it a stretch.
