if you're previously employed, all your contributions will be safe with SSS, even if you forgot ur SSS no.. :)

i suggest you activate your membership as a voluntary member...

sayang ung mga panahon na dumadaan..

ok po. thanks :flowers:

so it's not like the BIR wherein i have to file a form every year, kahit unemployed ako, tama ba?

right... all records since 1957, active and non-active are still intact with SSS.... kaya you dont have to fear na mawawala ung records mo... just remember, you have to register to SSS only once....

isang SSS number, lifetime mo na itong gagamitin...

my father died last oct, then we filed for a death benefit claim... we received and encashed it last week... are we still going to receive a lumpsum amount which i think is different from the death benefit claim?

thanks...

pls see if claim voucher (the sheet that comes with the check) indicates "DEATH CLAIM with FUNERAL"...

sori for the late reply....

ilang years ba naging pensioner ang father mo?

meron kasi kaming five years exhaustion...

kapag ang member is more than five years na nakakapagclaim ng pension...

in your case, mother mo ang nakareceive ng lumpsum amount...

Sir inquire lang ako:

Tumatanggap na kami ng partial disability payment from SSS kaso one year period lang.

My father is currently suffering from stroke and myocardial infarction.

First time po naming mag claim.

Almost 24 years sya nag contribute sa SSS.

refile ulit kayo.... for partial disability, may certain period or number of months lang kayo mkakakuha ng monthly pension....

pagnatapos na ung first disability pension and the ailment/sickness is still there, then refile ulit kayo for another disability claim. kailangan nyo lang ng update medical record to support the claim....

you see, sir, you could apply for a SSS membership and get a SSS number without submitting any original documents (e.g. birth certificate, marriage contract) to support the authenticity of your datas submitted to SSS.

in this situation, ang information mo sa SSS is tagged as "TEMPORARY STATUS".... (sss calls it the "E1 FLAG")

to fix this up, kailangan mo lang mgsubmit a certified true copy of NSO issued birth certificate....

remember: photocopy lang ang kailangan ng SSS, just bring the original copy para ma autheticate ang duplicate copy.

in the absense of birth certificate, puede rin ang Certificate of Bastismal, pero kailangan mo muna na negative results ng BC galing NSO para maaccept ito. if both are unavailable, secondary documents puede... eg, school records, marriage contract, etc.

puede siyang makakuha ng maternity benefit kung meron siyang at least three months updated contribution before the semester of the date of contigency (ung DoD nya).. eg. if manganganak siya this december 2008, dapat meron siyang three months na hulog between jan2008 to june2008....

hope this helps...

SSS files 400 criminal cases against erring employers

The Social Security System (SSS) has filed criminal cases against more than 400 employers for violating the Social Security Law, which carry penalties of stiff fines and imprisonment, a top official said.

SSS President and Chief Executive Officer Corazon de la Paz said 412 employers face charges for offenses such as failure to remit payments, refusal to show records to SSS officers, submission of inaccurate employment data and lack of SSS registration.

“We don’t tolerate employers who deny their employees SSS benefits because of neglect or disobedience,” she said.

The state-run pension fund expects to collect more than P60 million from 264 employers who failed to pay contributions and loan payments. The SSS imposes monthly penalties of 3 percent on late contributions and 1 percent for unpaid loans.

The law requires employers to report all employees for SSS coverage and allows SSS account officers to check company records. Grossly negligent employers face up to 12 years in jail and fines ranging from P5,000 to P20,000.

De la Paz said the SSS planned to intensify its legal actions against delinquent employers, after Malacañang gave it exemption from paying a filing fee for cases in the prosecutor’s office since February.

The SSS has 47 cluster lawyers all over the country, including 21 in the National Capital Region, whose principal task is to file legal cases against delinquent employers.

SSS intensifies court actions against erring employers

The regional trial courts in Northern and Central Luzon sentenced to jail two owners of security guard agencies for failure to remit the social security contributions of their workers, Social Security System (SSS) President and Chief Executive Officer Corazon de la Paz said.

She said the court sentenced Joey Fontanilla, owner of Santiago City-based Nationwide Security Agency, to a maximum of eight years in prison and to pay the SSS a total of P32,841.70 with 12 percent interest computed from the time of the filing of the case in 2004 until fully paid.

In San Fernando Pampanga, the court ordered Angelita Flores, President of Flores Security and Investigation Agency, to pay SSS P629,064.29 with penalty of three percent a month representing worker’s contributions from July 1994 to May 1996 and P151,262.44 in loan repayments from December 1994 to September 1995, de la Paz said.

De la Paz said the court also ordered Flores to pay the court a fine of P20,000 or face imprisonment of up to six months in case of non-payment.

She said the convictions followed SSS’ intensified campaign to prosecute delinquent employers and protect the worker’s contributions to the institution.

“We work closely with prosecutors to go after delinquent employers,” De la Paz said. “This is part of our aggressive collection strategy.”

SSS filed a case against Fontanilla in 2004 after he ignored billings and demand letters for unpaid payments of 29 employees of Nationwide Security Agency.

The case against Flores was filed in 2001 and the court handed down the sentence after she reneged on her promissory note to settle her obligations using property and in installment payments.

Under the law, employers who failed to remit contributions and loan payments to the SSS face a maximum penalty of 12 years imprisonment and fine of up to P20,000.

i have a question... i availed a 1 month salary loan april 2 years ago, ive prepaid my SSS loan payment and was able to settle everything last december 2007... as i understand, you may not be able to renew the current SSS loan after 2 years and completion of payment... on my end i was able to settle everything and this would be its 2nd year this april... so i assume that i can avail the sss loan again this month to be exact, however when i checked the SSS website and log in to check my details, it says there that its 2 years would still be on july this year... i'm a bit perplexed because if i look on the details on when the loan approved and check generated and it was on an april... but on the website it says that i wont be able to avail it till july of this year... what's the real deal here? i mean, its confusing because if i'm going to wait till july that would be like 2 years and 3 months not the normal 2 years thats posted on the website... which means they're contradicting whats written and posted there on the SSS website... can you clarify on this matter sir? would i be able to avail of it this april or do i still have to wait till july? Thank you and i do hope you could help me... :)
