erika123
I was fortunate enough to have watched the game live. Ang saya-saya! Kahit umulan when the game started. Angel and Michelle madrigal were there. Very pretty! Kahit sakit sa bulsa yung price ng ticket, i felt it was worth it, with a 4-0 score. Sarap sana pumunta ng Kuwait. Pero mas masarap pumunta ng Brazil sa 2014! Im attaching picture ng Rizal Stadium during Azkal game with Sri lanka last sunday. Edited July 5, 2011 by erika123 Quote Link to comment
cuatro_ojos
I think the Afros in the Euro teams came from the countries former colonies. I'm not sure if the colonies countries took part of their culture from their Euro colonizers. That's right, sir. But in the case of Switzerland, which never had a colony, the Afros (and another player of Turkish origin) were either first- or second-generation immigrants. blow_gobi
I think FIFA welcomes half breeds playing for either country. It makes the sport truly global and increases its following internationally. No wonder it's the world's most popular sport, because of FIFA's liberalized policy. I look forward to the day when someone from Tondo becomes a starter for a European first division club. If PH Azkals go past Kuwait, this will be an even bigger international story than their victory against Vietnam last year. But even if they lose but the results are close, it's likely PH's FIFA ranking will improve. Quote Link to comment
elvaracco
im glad the Azkals won over Sri Lanka, and are rekindling interest in football here in pinas. As for elvaracco's hope that "love of country" and "love of sport" being these fil-europeans' motivations, well quite frankly i doubt it. Obviously they know that while they are not stars in europe, here in phils. they can be superstars/celebrities by virture of looks, etc. And probably they are well-compensated for their time and effort by the team's sponsors. sana i'm wrong, though. I suppose only time will tell if indeed, their intentions are patriotic and noble. Lets hope na ganun na nga. I just recalled, during my last stay in Sagada, the natives were proud of their football/ soccer team. Pinagmamalaki nila that unbeatable sila sa region nila, and that is because the foreign tourist who visit the place are too willing to play with and impart their knowledge and skill to the young people. So nagkakaroon din ng influx of football technology. I just hope na ganun din mangyari sa football natin on a wider scope.... Quote Link to comment
elvaracco
Quote Link to comment

kokomonster
Kulang ang roster ng Azkals for the kuwait away game. No Borromeo, Schrock due to suspension. Mulders cant play because his mother club is in the Europa league. Jonsson, Greatwich, and De jong will also not be available. Kulang tayo sa defenders. Quote Link to comment
solicitor
I do not understand the hoolabaloo about the azkals win over mongolia and sri lanka.....i mean , if the phil. futbol team is inter-barangay level, these two teams that they've beaten were inter-barrio. The physical appearance alone shows the difference, parang mga malnourished. Now, if we beat Kuwait, then i will start celebrating a bit....but now? nah..... Quote Link to comment

I was just wondering about the pay. I am pretty sure that these fil-foreigners are getting paid much higher than the locals. But, anyhow, may local player pa ba ang azkal? hehehe  Quote Link to comment
