iceman8
Dear Noynoy, Please don't smile in public when a tragedy just happened. Be considerate to others, especially to the victim's loved one. I'm referring to the hostage crisis last August 2010. And also, please don't be arrogant. The SWAT team here in the Phils. made a big blunder, and you should be humble enough to acknowledge that. You're giving this country's image a bad name. Moreover, USA is not the only country in the world that you should go and visit to get new businesses. We have countries around us (Southeast Asia) in which I believe we should have a better relationship with. Because for one, they are nearer and you don't have to go over the Pacific Ocean just to talk to them. Also, China is growing rapidly. It's time to get close to them. They are the future, and not the USA. The USA is going down, truth be told. Please be more humble and considerate. Also, keep your promises. So far you have not eliminated corruption nor started to eliminate corruption. Also, we don't really care about your lovelife. No need to talk about it on TV. All we care is how you're going to lead this country, and that's the bottomline. Quote Link to comment

Sl@MDuNk_Mitsui14
Dear AbNoy, http://www.manilastandardtoday.com/sectionOpinion.htm?f=2011/february/9/editorial.isx&d=2011/february/9 Beyond the yellow blindfold PEOPLE who supported President Aquino in last year’s presidential election should take off their yellow blindfolds just long enough to look around. Open eyes will find the floor of Mr. Aquino’s presidential palace strewn with broken promises. As the list grows, it might be instructive to see just what those promises were, and how Mr. Aquino has failed to keep them. 1. Transparency. Candidate Aquino, who ran on the promise of ridding the government of corruption, said his administration would be transparent about its dealings. As a candidate, Mr. Aquino said his administration would give priority to passing a freedom of information bill that would lift the shroud of secrecy over government transactions and data, making them available to ordinary citizens who would have the right to demand access to them. A short eight months later, President Aquino has taken the freedom of information bill off the list of priority measures that he will certify as urgent to Congress. The explanation for his about-face: concern that the bill might violate people’s constitutional right to privacy. We are hardly surprised. A law guaranteeing freedom of information would mean any citizen would be able to walk up to the Land Transportation Office and demand to know who lent the President his bullet-proof Lexus sports utility vehicle or who sold him his P4.5-million Porsche. Contrary to Mr. Aquino’s contention that these are private matters, we insist that they are of public interest as they speak to the issues of influence peddling and good governance. 2. Population management. Candidate Aquino promised to make population management a priority through a policy of responsible parenthood in which parents would ensure that each child they bring into the world would have the opportunity to lead a good life, and which would give couples the means by which they could plan their families based on their ability to sustain their needs. Now, Mr. Aquino’s much ballyhooed responsible parenthood bill is dead in the water, removed as well from the list of priority measures “as a sign of courtesy to the Catholic bishops” who oppose any form of population management. A spokesman says the bill might yet be submitted to Congress, but would no longer be certified as urgent. 3. No favors to allies. While he was still running for office, Senator Aquino said he would not extend favors to allies and supporters. But in October, he shielded a close associate and shooting buddy in the Interior Department from criminal charges for his failure to properly manage the Luneta hostage crisis in which eight Chinese tourists were killed. A few months after taking office, President Aquino also appointed a pop singer who supported his campaign to a commission to promote the 1986 Edsa People Power revolution. Before that, he had also rewarded the singer by appointing his father to two plum government posts. 4. Distribution of his family’s plantation to farmers as part of the agrarian reform program. Instead of showing leadership on this issue, President Aquino washed his hands of the dispute over his family’s Hacienda Luisita, enabling the members of his clan to skirt agrarian reform laws and delay its distribution to farmers. 5. The scrapping of the previous administration’s flagship programs. Candidate Aquino vowed to scrap all of the major programs of the Arroyo administration, yet he chose to double the funding to its most questionable program, the Conditional Cash Transfer Program, turning Mrs. Arroyo’s P10-billion dole into a P21-billion dole in a few short months. To a certain extent, there is a reality distortion field around Mr. Aquino because he comes across as personable, and people want him to succeed. What we want, however, is often different from what we get. The sooner people realize that, the sooner they will be able to demand that Mr. Aquino honor his obligations and keep his promises. wolfwhistler
Dear AbNoy, You're what I call a "Homer Simpson"; A big head with a pint-sized brain! "Sen. Trillanes should look at himself in the mirror, same for those people (including you), who were quick to judge Gen. Reyes, call him names, and tag him as evil person, and start asking yourself if you don't have any skeletons hidden in your closets as well, that you don't want people to know about, especially your friends and loved ones. And then ask yourself whether you also deserve to be called "demonyito" or "a person without any reputation to protect". You obviously couldn't distinguish the difference between "raillery" and actual "judgment" or name-calling.
