The lineup is strong but putting 3bigs to start will not work cos its too slow for international play where ball movement and transition play is at a premium..kelangan pa din may traditional small forward tyo like norwood starting

 

were talking at the next window, wala pang european na kalaban. Kaz and Iran dont take that much 3's like Korea and China.

 

They only take 3s kung double team si Haddadi which with this tall lineup, Im betting will be rare.

We can get away with a tall lineup against the kazaks but not with iran. Iran has veered away from a deliberate style of play bec of haddadis decline,and they feature more of bahrami and another wing i cannot remember the name. Even their bigs has started shooting 3s

I may be in the minority but I believe that to beat Iran, we need more speed and shooting - similar to the formula we used when we beat them in 2015. As the previous poster has mentioned, Iran’s game has also transitioned outside as Haddadi has slowed down with age. Fact : Iran averages more 3s and has a higher 3FG% than we do (based on 2018 FIBA Asia stats).

 

My strategy would be to rotate Junemar and CStand at C, paired with any of the shooting bigs - Belga, Erram, Rosario. The rest of the lineup will be shooters and quick penetrating guards. Our shooting has to be effective and/or be able to take quality shots while Haddadi is still lumbering upcourt.

Standhardinger and belga cant play the 3 spot masyado na sila mabagal for a wing and greedy na sa tangkad lineup nun kung sakali. And di siguro maganda pag sabayin slaughter and fajardo ng matagal cuz they are both post up players siguro maganda kung 4 natin may maayos na mid-range to 3pt shots like japeth, erram, belga, santos and rosario.

I think we are fine at the PF with Stand and Aguilar. Stand is a work horse and a pesky defender who is also quick enough to guard wing men. He is the most suited among the players in the pool for the international game. Aguilar can relieve Stand but Stand should be the main PF.

C-stan is very capable at the 4,the only problem is when paired wd jmf,the paint becomes too clogged..thats also the reason why blatche was a success with us cos he is a big who can play outside...c-stan can be effective but he must be paired wd a big who has a decent perimeter shot like erram or belga...he cant be at the post or even in pick n roll situations when jmf is around...spacing is not good

Hindi pa nmn naglalaho yung chances natin for FIBA WC pero kailangan lang natin mapanalo the rest of the games. Sayang e kasi ang chances natin for sure making it sa FIBA WC is maipanalo lang yung both games against kazakhstan and qatar naging worst case scenario pa. The gilas-aussie brawl still haunts us.

We can only forget Andray kapag may cohesion na ang Guiao selection... kaso hastily formed, so may issue talaga sa familiarity.

Mobile big men kailangan natin. Si JMF malaki pero hindi siya pang takbuhan. Yun nga lang sa Team Pilipinas siya ang best big man natin sa WC. Japeth only got 2 rebounds kanina. Si Erram naman yung laro niya sa PBA di naman natranslate din dito. Si Slaughter 5 minutes lang nilaro hindi na binalik sa second half.

 

Any suggestions. Kai Sotto? Parang ang dali itulak eh. Aasa na lang ba tayo kay Blatche parati? CStan?

 

Mas parang problema nga tayo na wala tayong shooters na Caidic/Cabahug. Ang ganda pa ng outside shooting ng KAZ kanina. Si Wright nainis ako kanina. Same with Cabagnot pero siya yung bida natin last time vs, QAT

all 3 remaining games are must wins specially that we are now tied with japan at 5-4. humahabol pa ang kazakhstan. ang hirap nito, the last 2 remaining games are away games kaya talagang kailangan kumayod. tama...we need consistent shooters who can light it out every game plus mobile big men who can close out on the 3s.

Ang problema ng team natin palagi e yung disiplina, nawawala palagi lalo na kapag critical na oras.. talent wise mahuhusay player natin, kaso dahil kulang sa preparation at pabago bago mga player e hindi talaga natin marating ang peak form ng potential ng team natin.. if only we can have enough time para sa preparation ng isang tunay na national team, no doubt we can compete with the best in the world.. its about time for sbp to go back to the drawing board and make a blue print for the nex generation of players lead by Kai Sotto.. put coach Tab as the head coach of this cadet team and have our younger generation of coaches under him such as Chito victolero and alex compton.. these two coaches knows best how to counter act teams with big men as shown how they have beaten big teams in the PBA with their full court pressure defense... Again it will go back to DISCIPLINE as the main ingredient lacking in our team..
