dfgvan
di ba assured na ang IRAN and CHINA ng slots sa olympics? so even if we lose to China on Sunday (assuming we made it to the Finals) this will mean we already secured the 2nd place. Therefore, we automatically qualify for the Olympics? tama ba? nope, wala pang may sure slot... china ay may sure slot last olympics kasi sila ang host... Quote Link to comment

ppdd
... and there goes our chances to get into the finals... sayang it wasn't even close. too much turn overs. nde din nakapag capitalize nung nawala yung ace player nung Jordan due to foul troubles. nde na naman ako makakain nito. wala nang gana.. junix
gallant stand by gilas. but TOs and bad shooting did them in...layup na lang niluluwa pa ng ring. what a time to have a bad shooting day...dagdag pa natin yung 3-point shooting ng jordan (same weapon that killed iran). but it's not yet the end for gilas. hopefully gilas can land 3rd place para makasama pa sa qualifying. just not sure what countries ang mga kasama dun. photographer
It again boils down to the "long toms"...the lack of shooting like yung kinatakot natin sa previous postings. Bakit naman kasi nawala yung mga accuracy natin sa "long shots". Dont know what happened. Is it the system sa PBA? Na ini idolo ng ating amateur players. Sayang. Those countries that are in the upper level of FIBA-ASIA have accurate shooters from the outside. Quote Link to comment
TERRENCE34
I haven't watch the game earlier. Nakakapanghinayang... Nawala na nga yung Iran, natalo pa rin tayo . Haaay... Ang ganda pa naman ng nilaro nila kagabi. Was it a case of early celebration kaya naging complacent sila? Can't help it but I feel so sad.. But still, it was a gallant stand by the Philippine team Smart Gilas. If we lose tomorrow against Korea, we have to wait for another 2 years.. Tama ba? Quote Link to comment
ray004
kinapos ang gilas...i'm still proud of them though! Quote Link to comment
khilua23
well, ganun talaga... may nananalo at may natatalo... deserve din naman ng JORDAN makapasok sa finals dahil mahirap ang pinagdaanan nila. beating previous undefeated IRAN team in the quarters, then tinalo nila ang PILIPINAS na tumalo sa kanila noong 2nd round. i wish them luck against CHINA nalang. ray004
i'm curious whatever happened to aguilar and baracael? Quote Link to comment
rafael77
whats so frustrating is we know for a fact na kaya natin. talaga lang we were caught on a bad day. well, ganun talaga... may nananalo at may natatalo... deserve din naman ng JORDAN makapasok sa finals dahil mahirap ang pinagdaanan nila. beating previous undefeated IRAN team in the quarters, then tinalo nila ang PILIPINAS na tumalo sa kanila noong 2nd round. i wish them luck against CHINA nalang. and to think in the start, jordan is also having a bad game. ours happen to be worse. Hanz_ohm
Sayang ang Smart Gilas. Poor shooting. Untimely turnovers. Bad shooting night. I know they tried their best but I would have thought that it would be a closer game. Gilas was in the penalty early, Jordan was able to neutralize Douthit. Nabobox out si Douthit at wala siyang tulong sa offensive rebounding. Bakit hindi ginamit si Japeth Aguilar and Baracael? Gilas will battle Korea for 3rd place. Very hard team to beat. Good luck to the Smart Gilas team. Quote Link to comment
photographer
Thats the last we can see the great Gilas team with its present lineup. Mag start na ang PBA, maglalaro na ang mga draftees and PBA regulars. Kaunti na lang ang matitira sa Gilas na magagaling. Start all over from scratch again? Sayang lang, no? Mahirap talaga palit ng palit ng players. Everytime draft day come by, nawawala na sila. Haaayyyyy!!!! During my days, the heady days of Philippine basketball, kapag kailangan ng players sa national team, nandiyan na si Puyat of BAP, kandarapa mga players offering their services sa national team, the likes of Jaworski, Arnaiz, Yoyong Martirez, Cleofas, Mariano, Lucindo, Rojas, etc. Bigyan mo lang ng bagong Converse na sapatos, masaya na mga yun, . With the birth of the PBA, nawala na ang mga ganitong offers and nationalism sa utak ng ating mga HOME-GROWN players. May hats off to our Fil-Am PBA players, they played their hearts out, unlike sa likes ng Ildefonsos and Marlou Aquinos, daming dahilan. Kudos to home grown talents Casio, Barracael, Barroca, etc. Edited September 25, 2011 by photographer Quote Link to comment

rafael77
another case of relying too much on fil-ams. didn't even gave this homegrowns a fighting chance. well, it was good while it lasted. pero may korea game pa! tsaka na tayo magsisihan. though its a more difficult route, pwede pa! i'm curious whatever happened to aguilar and baracael?
