blow_gobi
If PH wins against Japan, PH will likely place 2nd in Group F and will have an easier task of facing Chinese Taipeh (which is expected to place 3rd in Group E) in the quarterfinals. If PH loses against Japan, it will be a relatively harder task of facing Korea in the quarterfinals. If PH is lucky enough to make it to the semi-finals, it will likely be facing Iran. I may be dreaming but if PH is able to hurdle either Iran or China, it would mean one or two of its players deserve to be in the NBA. Quote Link to comment
Goma_23
salamat po sa sumagot, so talagang kelangan mag champion tayo para makapasok sa 2012 olympics, Napansin ko lang, masyadong pessimistic ang mga nagco comment, anyway di natin sila masisi, but at least , let us thank MVP for doing a great job in supporting yung sports programs natin dito sa pinas, nakita ko siya kanina sa audience at tuwang tuwa siya, dahil nag paid off yung paperworks na ginawa nya para makapaglaro yung mga fil-ams natin, I win in Japan bukas will put a real "psychological" advantage sa mga future opponents natin, sana mas suwertehin lang si Alapag, Nakakabilib din si Douthit, kahit hindi siya Pinoy , at kahit he's there dahil it's his Job, pero nakakabilib, mas Pinoy talaga yung puso nya, compared sa mga previous superstars natin na pagdating sa international games biglang nagkaka injury kuno, Suportahan natin mga kabayan ang SMART-GILAS, pumasok man o hindi, unti unti bumabalik yung takot sa atin ng ibang countries, hindi man tayo mag champion, pero sa tulong tulong na effort ng mga basketball enthusiast, at sa suporta nating mga fans, hindi magdadalawang isip ang mga businessman na suportahan ang sports program natin, Quote Link to comment
buwitre1781
Seems like bball really is a big man's game, after watchng eurobasket na realize k talaga yan. I was thnking tho y not put up a program that would include genetics? I mean maybe we coulx let asi, slaughter, marcus and japeth impregnate a tall athletic woman from say... zimbabwe or tonga? Imagine the future of that team? Tangkad gilas na yun! Then train them in serbia ayus yun! And maybe then, just maybe. We could start dreaming again! you could also see watching fiba europe why macedonia made it to the top 4 for the first time even beating the much bigger lithuania. during our glory days di ba ala din taung malalaki instead we have a lot of good shooters.. un kulang sa tin outside shooting. we can compsensate for our lack of height with great hustles but we can not score a basket because our game is solely based on pick and roles and slashing inside. kung may outside shooting yan magopen up ng maraming opportunities. maganda interior defense natin sa china. kaso ala naman taung opensa balewala din. kaya dapat hanapin natin mga kalahi nila caidic co at adornado.. khilua23
i think, sa laban against JAPAN... mas maging aggressive si kelly williams, siya ang may malaking chance maka dish out ng foul from opponents.. kailangan niya ng power play and slashing sa game. then lassiter and lutz, must play defense like what they did against JORDAN.. kailangan din magconnect o swertehin tayo sa outside shots natin.. plus, give japeth aguilar playing time.. or atleast subukan ni coach kung magiging effective siya sa game na yun. like what happened against bharain. This was and is the very reason why South Korean beat China. They have lots and lots of great outside shooters. Unlike style ng Pinas na puro "buhat" or undergoal stab. Di puwede ang ganun sa international plays. South Korea just plays simple basketball, play, pasa pasa then shoot fromt the outside WITH ACCURACY! Quote Link to comment
dfgvan
http://wuhan2011.fibaasia.net/ i was reading and analyzing the scenario and remaining schedules...after the second round if things are in the norm:Grp E:1. TERRENCE34
We need to win tonight's game against Japan for the above bracket to be possible. If we win against Korea, China naman sa Semis. Korea and Japan are showing signs of prowess in this tournament, even more powerful than the Chinese team. Quote Link to comment

buwitre1781
Maiba naman.. I felt sympathy for the team Qatar. Fiba Asia expresses its deepest regrets on these unforeseen and irresponsible acts of Team Qatar, which has caused a minor aberration on the shine of the championship. Such an errant and reckless attitude of the Qatar national team has no place in our sport. Much as i believe we can make it. I would have to concede early. With the way this mockery has been played its going to be China.. Quote Link to comment

END OF 3RD QUARTER: PHI 60- JAP 52... KELLY WILLIAMS played aggressive basketball first few possessions ng PILIPINAS galing sa kanya, defense and rebounding.. sana ma-sustain niya sa 4th.. he played like what i expect him to play. CHRIS LUTZ from start until he fouled out, nice defense on JAPANESE shooter KAWAMURA. hindi nagkaroon ng rhythm si KAWAMURA dahil sa mala-asawang depensa ni LUTZ. MARCIO LASSITER already with 13 pts.. aggressive siya defense and offense. at ngayon wala na si LUTZ, expected siya to guard KAWAMURA sa 4th. nagcoconnect din tayo sa outside shots natin kaya nakakalamang tayo, plus our aggressiveness sa defense and fast break.. better chances na manalo tayo if we sustain this kind of play. lastly, ayun waterboy uli si JAPETH.. ano ba problem kay JAPETH at ayaw siya paglaruin o bigyan ng chance ni COACH? last time he played, top scorer siya sa team.. tapos wala na uli playing time. RED2018
very nice steady game by jimmy alapag and marcus douthit..kudos to lassiter and lutz too for the excellent defense! Jimmy's showing them why he's the PBA's MVP ('tho not a few questioned the choice); he was steady, fearless, and consistent (kahit may dribbling error) Quote Link to comment
khilua23
Philippines 83 - Douthit 25 (18r), Alapag 15, Lassiter 15, Williams 12, Barroca 6, de Ocampo 4, Casio 4, Taulava 2. Lutz 0, Tiu 0. Japan 76 - J.Takeuchi 22, Shonaka 14, Hirose 13, T.Kawamura 12, K.Takeuchi 6, Ishizaki 5, Amino 4, Sakurai 0, Takeda 0, Kashiwagi 0, Matsui 0. --->great game for WILLIAMS, LASSITER, LUTZ, and ALAPAG... they lived to expectations. LUTZ' tight defense on KAWAMURA limited the JAPANESE to only 12 pts. DOUTHIT, another monster game for the FILIPINO by HEART and PRIDE.. tomorrow against SYRIA, expect JAPETH AGUILAR and MAC BARACAEL some minutes, for sure! Quote Link to comment
