thegame08
Lugi talaga tayo pagdating sa height and heft ng ibang countries (Iran, Lebanon, China, Korea, Japan) kaya nga may naturalized player ang Pinas in Douhit though I really don't like their chances with him, mas maganda pa sana kung si CJ Giles (na tinoyo naman) o si Chris Alexander (former Ginebra import) ang naging naturalized player nila. Also, my uncle in the U.S. is wondering why are those middle east countries are bunch with real Asian countries? Can anyone explain this? Quote Link to comment

The accuracy of Atoy Co, Bogs Adornado, Danilo Florencio. You might now know these guys, kung bata pa kayo but they have 80% accruracy ng kanilang shots and that includes Abbarientos of old (uncle ni Abbarientos of today), Papa, Mariano, Marquez, Miego, Castelo, and Botchok delos Santos. And they do it under intense guarding, double teaming and triple teaming. The problem kasi nowadays, mostly are Patrimonio-style players, puro sa looban. Patrimonio was a devil sa PBA and his no. of MVPs will show it. pero sa international play, sisiw siya kasi hindi siya maka operate sa painted area. I know he will have hard time sa international play na run and shoot! Quote Link to comment

photographer
Sir add mo na din siguro si Allan Caidic who stands about 6'3, he is a marked man sa bawat tournament na kasali ang Pinas noon. Yes, you're right si Allan. But Allan stands only at 6'1" not 6'3" but he's a demon kapag sa shooting. Imagine that! They are not that tall but they can pick screens and knows how to fight their way para malibre. Just like what Michael Jordan's been doing. Dribble but not so many dribbles na kagaya ni Mark Caguioa, daming dribbles. Quote Link to comment

There was this player, Arthur Herrera nuon, bigyan mo lang ng screen (which was usually done by the late Tembong Melencio), shoot kaagad. There was time na naka score siya ng 42 points na halow 90% ang accuracy. And there was Renato Reyes, Jaime Mariano, and the young Francis Arnaiz. Not counting the exploits of the young Robert Jaworski. Quote Link to comment

Ritualo could have been the player that our national team needs sa international competition but then again he is quite short para sa international competition. Also, watching the FIBA Europe on tv, it amazes me that those 6'9 pataas na players sa Europe could easily beat their man on the dribble.. Quote Link to comment

kenichi15
come on guys even with the two filam in the lineup can you still believe we could beat china?,,,, and maybe in the future iran?,.... di naman seven footer tong dalawa.... target natin ay 3rd place n lang.... even if we play both korea and japan we will have a very difficult time matching up with them.... then there is lebanon and jordan to contend with....another match up problem for us.... e this team was form not three years ago but was form this month with the inclusion of pba players.... nasaan n mga original n players from the collegiate rank? TOROMAN know very well that we are overmatch practically in all position if face the top teams in asia.... thats why they rely heavily on marcus and players from the PBA.... even dondon hontiveros knows n mahihirapan tayo s wuhan thats why he quits citing fatigue... heck cya lang b ang naglalaro ng basketbal na ganoon katagal.... remember that players who played in the NBA played a minimum 82 games in a year if you are a starter no counting games played in the playoff....s pba max games by TNT is around 60 games and that for a team that qualify in the finals for the three conferences... kung mamalasin k at d makaqualify team mo you got to play 40 games max.... ang layo ng standard ng international competition from us.... so let stop kidding ourselves that we are still the best one on one players in asia.... i don't see any players drafted or invited by the NBA from the current roster of FILIPINO PLAYERS IN ANY LEAGUE HERE IN OUR COUNTRY i believe the problem here lies that there are two legit pinoy players that were not allowed to play citing ineligibility. ur gripe is about the quality of players that we have which were never invited by any nba team (off topic ka brother) or the pba players being lent to the smart gilas squad. (eh sino gusto maglaro?) or better yet us beating china, lebanon, iran, south korea? cmon man, have a break, let the team do its job. bilog ang bola. may nanalo at may natatalo. whether dinadaya ka o pinupulitika ka. be a good sport. criticize the game. not your country's team. minisushi
Seems like bball really is a big man's game, after watchng eurobasket na realize k talaga yan. I was thnking tho y not put up a program that would include genetics? I mean maybe we coulx let asi, slaughter, marcus and japeth impregnate a tall athletic woman from say... zimbabwe or tonga? Imagine the future of that team? Tangkad gilas na yun! Then train them in serbia ayus yun! And maybe then, just maybe. We could start dreaming again! Quote Link to comment

junix
nice comeback and a big win by gilas. guess we can't deny the value of lassiter and lutz. i may not be very optimistic about our chances in this wuhan tournament (considering that only one slot is at stake), but hey...we are filipinos here and let's cheer for the philippine team. it's our team. let's go pilipinas!!! khilua23
Why were Lutz and Lassiter disqualified? nag protest ang LEBANON... kaya hindi sila pinayagan maglaro nung 1st round. pero naglaro na sila ngayon 2nd round after submitting documents para patunayan FILIPINO sila, at nabigyan na ng clearance ng FIBA to play.
