CELTS
USA has an abundant of talent. Was he ever considered for the B-deem team for the just concluded World Championship even with the absence of top players? Having said that, there goes your he'll play for flag and country assumption. But based on your reasoning hindi mo nga pinanghihinayangang makasama si PP kasi alam mong hindi siya papayag maglaro for team Gilas.Si Yap kahit Pinoy pa yan sinabi ayaw niya maglaro so sabi ko nga bakit kailangang panghinayangan. That's my analogy. Now sabi mo PWEDE naman siyang maglaro kahit sinabi niyang ayaw niya. Paano? Papakiusapan? Well as you said di mo sure kung ginawa nila so why argue based on assumptions you can't be certain of. Kaya humahaba ang usapan. Siguraduhin mo muna saka natin ituloy ang usapang ito. If all is certain on your assumption mas may pupuntahan ang usaping ito. Edited November 4, 2010 by CELTS Quote Link to comment

You can't compare Pierce playing for SG and James Yap playing for SG since PP will not consider playing for SG. Si James Yap, sa pakiusap puede naman siguro makuha. Ayusin mo muna yung pag analogy kasi hindi naman si Pierce Pinoy para iconsider mo sya sa SG. 1 Quote Link to comment
CELTS
Tulad ng sinabi at pagiisip mo, pwedeng pakiusapan si James na maglaro but you're not sure kung ginawa ng SBP ito. Well SBP could try to persuade PP to play for us too. Mag nagbabawal ba sa paggawa nito? Alam ko wala namang masama. Just like you though I am also not sure if anyone from the SBP did try to persuade him to play for us. Gosh ... see how you have influenced my thinking. We now think alike Peace BRO ... joke lang. walang sumbungan ha. Quote Link to comment

launchpad
hindi ba the point is , kaya nga nag start ang gilas e. they want to train a number of players who are not part of the prof ranks or pro leagues. in the pass few years even when they started they hope to establish players who could be together for a period of time and from there develop into players wherein are much more into the system of the national unlike pag pro just get them or form a team and practice for a while then when the event ends so is that team. to me, summarize . . . . its a failed experiment. the resources they pulled in , the works are all there but when they started to get pro players its just mean that somewhere along the road the bumps are too much and the team has taken its toll. whether be injuries or there arent enough players for gilas to get or for whatever reasons still its good to see they want to win and revive the philippines in the basketball world. peithe
A Semis finish...this is the goal set by Coach Toroman for the Asiad. This I think is quite realistic. A championship in the Asian level at this point based on what I see is still impossible. In fact a top 4 finish may not be a walk in the park. If Toroman's optimist view is a semis finish in a tournament where even the top guns of the top teams are not playing, we really have a lot of catching up to dobefore we could regain our tag as Asia's best again. 5 Quote Link to comment
orionquest
Last World Championships nge eh di seeded no. 1 ang USA. Quote Link to comment
peithe
I think the ranking is based on the cumulative points gained by the member country in Fiba accredited tournaments over a span of time. The concept is almost similar on how tennis players are ranked. I think while the PHL has consistently beat Kuwait when they meet in a tournament, there was a time when we were suspended thus unable to compete and earn points which affected our ranking.
