shinta
Thanks sir dogbite! I left my unit with Romy this morning and he recommended several modifications. I asked if they were reaally necessary and he assured me that once all the modifications have been done, I would never have to worry about jamming my gun again, it would take any bullet I give it (except for non-9mm of course, he he he...) He seemed to know what he was talking about, and having the assurance that a bullet wouldn't accidentally explode while I'm racking the slide seems worth it. While waiting for my turn, another shooter approached me and we made some small talk. Ang suggestion nga daw ng counter-measures sa kanya is to go to either A. Pascual(?) in manila, Tony O. in Taguig, or Metrillo in Paranaque. Since Manila's still a bit flooded daw at the time he wanted his gun modified, he decided to go to Metrillo and they did a good job according to him. He's just doing other mods kaya sya nandun. I was looking at the prices for their modifications, and I was sorely tempted to have the np28 fitted with a novac rear sight and fiber optic front site but I finally managed to control myself and decide to make that (and the hard chroming of my slide) my next project, he he he... Thanks for the help Sirs dogbite and MiggyE!! oh, and thanks royginald and ultegra too!! Nakalimutan ko na yung iba. Anyway, thanks for the help din po!! Marami-rami pala nagpapagawa sa kanila, I saw a colonel's aide having two FAs modified and while I was leaving, may bagong dumating din. Pupunta ba kayo sa gunshow? I'll try very hard to attend. It'll be my first gunshow. Hope to see you peeps there! Edited October 22, 2009 by shinta Quote Link to comment

shinta
Ha ha ha! Ngayon pa lang nga nanghihinayang na ko e. Lahat ng nakakakita ng piece ko tinatanong kung bat di pa .45 kinuha ko. My primary consideration kasi then was my budget. Sabi ko pangbahay lang naman. Then I started shooting once a week at Armscor, ayun-- kinati na magpa-tune up. He he he... Anyways, I was planning to buy some JHPs lang naman tsaka quick-draw holster. I didn't get a PTC as per several shooters' suggestion dahil lugi daw at malapit na ang gun ban. PTT lang dala ko. Do I need to gett another PTT para madala ko sa megatrade hall? Quote Link to comment
miggyE
sir shinta, you could always use the excuse that your going to the range, before/after, but just to make sure, i will ask. just remind me once in a while if i don't post it kaagad  tempted to look for a new 45 here also Quote Link to comment
Ranger9
Sir matanong ko lang may alam b kayo na puwede mag lakad ng Permit to Carry Firearms? HOw much could it cause me kaya? Magkano pala membership sa gun club like ng ARMSCOR? Saan ang firing range nila? Dito ko sa pasig saan malapit? indoor or outdoor? Quote Link to comment
shinta
@Ranger 9:Sa Armscor P2,500 ang membership nila. Pag member ka na, you don't have to pay for a range fee, P11.00 ang paper target, P9.00 ang reloaded bullet. They can apply for a PTT for you (P500), and a PTC would cost around P9-10k. They have an indoor range at Makati Cinema Square and an outdoor range at Marikina. Kaya parng may PTC na din ako when I applied for a PTT from them, nasa Makati lang kasi work ko kaya kahit araw-araw dala ko FA ko, he he he... @sir MiggeE:Thanks!! It'll be my first gunshow. Hope to see you peeps there! Well, as I told you in my previous inputs Sir Shinta...once you started modifying your gun...it would never end up hehehe. Just like what happened to my modified pistol..it end up to almost 200k just to be competitive. Anyway, its worth naman talagang i tune up ang gun natin since that is an insurance for us and our family. Once you go deep into practical shooting, marami ka pang matotohan. Do control youself, as you go along, you will know the do's and dont's. Too bad, December pa uwi ko from States, let's schedule our practice in Armscor so at least I could share to you the basic and advance approach to practical shooting. GOOD LUCK AND SAFETY SHOOTING Quote Link to comment

Reminder on the use of PTT as what we experienced shooter does: 1. read all conditions stated in the PTT form. 2. PTT is intended or issued to practicing members of practical shooting. 3. Guns must be kept in a gun box with out ammunition. 4. Loaded magazines and ammo's must be placed in a shooters bag or tool box, seperating it from the gun box in principle. 5. if you will always bring your gun from house to work, do bring always the complete rigs, ear plug or muff, shooting glass etc. This will prove that you will go to range for practice in cases of questioning. shinta
3. Guns must be kept in a gun box with out ammunition.I've seen several Armscor members arrive at the range carrying just a clutchbag or usiing a body bag. Nagandahan nga ako sa body bag kaya bumili din ako sa final options, P1.700 sya. I keep all the receipts, IDs, PTT in the front pocket just in case I'm questioned. Hindi pala allowed ito? 4. Loaded magazines and ammo's must be placed in a shooters bag or tool box, seperating it from the gun box in principle.Hindi pwede sa ibang pocket ng body bag na may zipper yung loaded ammo? I have an ammo box with FMJs na nasa main compartment with the ear plug and shooter's glasses tapos isang mag na laging loaded. Yung gun loaded ng mag na walang laman, nasa secret compartment ng body bag when I go to the range. I usually just show my bag to the guard at MCS then tell them I'm going to Armscor... shinta
HIwalay yung extra ammo, loaded mag, and gun with empty magazine. I've read from the PTT nga na dapat sa glove compartment yung isa (gun or magazine and bullets), nakahiwalay sa iba pa. I just thought it's one of the laws that're forgotten... hmn... Question again: if you leave your ammo box with ammos in your car and you're parked in an open space with the sun going full blast, di kaya puputok mga yun? Quote Link to comment

Negative sir Shinta..it will never blast even exposed to sunlight. However, caution must always be practiced. Ammunition in principle must be kept away from prolong exposure to sunlight. arsonist2010
Comelec OKs total gun ban during 2010 polls MANILA, Philippines – The Commission on Elections has approved a total gun ban for the 2010 elections, implementation of which will start on January 2010, an official said on Monday. Commissioner Lucenito Tagle made the pronouncement during the anniversary of the Civil Security Group at Camp Crame, adding that the Comelec has only to lay out the provisions of the total gun ban, in close coordination with the Philippine National Police. “We believe that that is the only way to prevent [election-related] violence,” he added in an interview. PNP Director General Jesus Verzosa, in a separate interview, said that among the features of the total gun ban included “only those mandated by law should be allowed to carry firearms in proper uniform and in the performance of official functions.” The proposed gun ban also contains a provision limiting the number of security escorts per candidate to two. “And if there are those that are having lots of threats, they can request for additional protective agents, but all of them must be in uniform also and must be in the company of those in uniform or uniformed personnel,” Verzosa added. Tagle said that the Comelec en banc was set to meet Tuesday to draft the guidelines on the total gun ban. “We will also be submitting our assessment on the election hotspots. We don’t want, as early as now, to term some areas as hotspots because there are lots of factors that should be considered. The assessment should be based, mainly, on the last two elections and it will somehow change upon the filing of candidacy because we have to check also the contending parties, the personalities that will be involved. So a continuing assessment will be involved,” Verzosa said. Quote Link to comment

Ranger9, as sir arsonist stated that the gun ban will come into effect on january, it would be better if you applied for a permit to range. i know that the ptr is only for 3 months, but then it won't be a waste of money like getting a ptc and being not able to carry a pistol for 6 months Quote Link to comment
