wala nga si caguioa pero marami silang magagaling na guard na pwede ilagay sa pwesto niya.. like junthy, tubid, salvacion.

ung kawalan ni williams malaki para sa slr, mababaw lang bench nila then nung naghabol sila wala pa ung import sa loob.

 

nung nahahabol na ginebra, wala nang gusto tumira sa kanila. hindi tulad ni caguioa talagang kukunin ang bola at ititira pag nasa pressure sila. ang dami naman magagaling na players ng ginebra pero takot tumira.

 

i don't believe slr has a shallow bench..they're not the afc champs for nothing. i believe their players are under rated..williams and caguioa are both the designated take charge guys of their respective teams that's why they cancelled each other out with their absence.

 

skills of valenzuela, tubid, helterbrand and salvacion are already given. but without chemistry the team cannot function well..reading between the lines, slr has more cohesion than bgk. given the right breaks cohesive team like slr can easily overcome such big leads.

Hindi ako naka-focus masyado sa game last night (as I was out drinking with a couple of friends), all I was able to notice is that pa-konti na ng pa-konti ang lamang nila noong 4th quarter but still they should have a killer instinct pag lamang na para hindi ganoon, sabagay maski noong araw ganyan na sila...

yeah... the energy that he brings when he's on the court... kahit hindi siya umiscore ng madami as long as he gets the rebounds and do the dirty works that Eric Menk usually does...

Speaking o andy seigle, me nakilala akong girl (who works in a club) at sabi ko maka-Ginebra ako then sabi nya me naging bf daw sya sa Ginebra at si andy nga daw yun, di ko malaman kung nagi-ilusyon sya o ano

Crisano used be the highest vertical leaper in the PBA. I like his energy when he plays. Menk has lost his game. Lipat na lang siya ibang team baka magbago pa game niya.

“Ang sabi ko sa kanila they should make an offer to Mark that he cannot refuse kasi maganda naman ang ibinibigay ng Ginebra management kay Mark pagdating sa salary,” ani Espiritu, may proposal na P1 milyong monthly salary sa Sydney Kings para kay Caguioa. “If they cannot afford that money, forget about the talks.”

 

Kasalukuyan ngayong nagpapagaling ng kanyang tendinitis sa kanyang hita si Caguioa, hindi nakita sa aksyon sa huling dalawang laro ng Gin Kings sa second round ng 2008 PBA Fiesta Conference.

oo nga tingin kung bibigay yung 1m a month payag na payag si Mark. Lalo na kasi taga Australia yung kanyang girlfriend. Yun lang Iam A Ginebra fanatic sayang kasi I think Mark is good for about 4 to 5 years nalang in his playing carreer, yun ay productive playing carreer, and with the type of game he plays run and gun seldom do we have guys past 35 that could still be as aggressive, so it means that he wont be able to don a Ginebra uniform in top form. Tsaka pano na si Jayjay cause they drew strenght from one another. Marami talagang malulungkot pag nawala si Mark, pero if it happens as Ginebra fans we should be proud of him

Helterbrand, Tubid, Alexander shine anew in Caguioa’s absence

Accidentally hit in the face by Reda Rhalimi midway through the fourth quarter, Jayjay Helterbrand got back at the entire Purefoods team, coming through with clutch plays at the finish.

 

Helterbrand scored seven points in an 11-2 closing run carrying Barangay Ginebra to an 89-81 win over Purefoods Wednesday night in the 2008 Smart PBA Fiesta Conference at the Araneta Coliseum.

 

Rhalimi and Chris Alexander had been in a furious battle before Helterbrand stole the thunder, leading the Kings to a second straight win curiously in the absence of injured top gun Mark Caguioa.

 

Alexander finished with 20 points, 16 rebounds, three assists and the same number of blocks against Rhalimi’s 28 points, 15 rebounds, two steals, one assist and one block.

 

The two imports taunted one another with Alexander easily winning the support of the crowd on his side. He got tremendous applause after a two-handed jam in the dying seconds for the final count.

 

Ronald Tubid was also there to support Alexander with the former UE Warrior producing a personal conference-high 21 points that went with nine rebounds, three assists and three steals.

 

"Mahirap talagang wala si Mark (Caguioa). We need guys like Jayjay and Ronald to double their efforts to compensate for the absence of Mark," said Ginebra coach Jong Uichico.

 

Caguioa is nursing a strained calf muscle. His status is day-to-day.

 

"Our goal is to win as many games as possible in our last few games in the elims. Hopefully, we make it at least to the middle of the pack," Uichico said.

 

The Kings caught up with the Giants at eighth place on their identical 6-8 win-loss cards. Ginebra’s last four games are against Coca-Cola, Alaska, Talk n Text and Welcoat.

 

The Kings overcame the Giants with better field-goal shooting, rebounding and passing.

 

But they went through a wringer, fighting the Giants through 11 deadlocks and 24 lead changes.

 

Purefoods went up for the last time at 79-78 on a free throw by Enrico Villanueva off a hard foul by Alexander.

 

Ginebra made it 44-all at the half as Tubid shook off the defense of Roger Yap then soared high for a double-pump against Villanueva at the buzzer. (NC)
