Jayjay Helterbrand erupted for 30 points and Chris Alexander came through with a huge double-double game with 22 points and 17 rebounds as the Kings beat the Pals for the first time in their last six meetings dating back to last conference. Mark Caguioa had significant contributions with 23 points, five rebounds and three assists as the Kings defeated the Pals in a highly emotional game marred by six technical fouls and the ejection of Talk n Text import Terrence Leather. Leather was thrown out of the game on two technical fouls and later figured in a near fight with the Ginebra players in the hallway leading the dugouts after the contest. The Kings moved up to sixth place with an 8-8 win-loss card, just half-game behind joint fourth placers the Alaska Milk Aces and the Magnolia Beverage Masters at 9-8. Magnolia’s 80-79 squeaker over Alaska earlier in the night gave Air21 (11-6) a free ride into the semifinals. Red Bull also benefited on Magnolia’s win, assuring itself of at least a quarterfinals berth. Sliding to 8-9, Talk n Text is now out of the fight for an automatic passage into the semifinals. "We’re getting the right chemistry. We’re getting along well with our import who provides as an intimidating inside presence. Our only regret is getting him a bit late," said Ginebra coach Jong Uichico. "We’re not yet out of the woods. We still have to look forward to our last two games," Uichico added. The Kings were supposed to play the Alaska Milk Aces a week ago but their game was postponed due to Typhoon Frank. Ginebra, however, hardly lost the momentum of a two-game streak against Talk n Text. The Pals struggled on the floor -- so much so that coach Chot Reyes called on his players to shoot free throws before letting them to their dugout at the half. It took the Pals a 12-point explosion by Jay Washington in the second quarter as they rallied to within four, 43-47, at the turn after trailing by as many as 15 early on. Helterbrand sizzled with 16 points for the Kings in the first half marred by a pushing and shoving match between Ronald Tubid and Macmac Cardona. Look, Jong, didn't include Mark on his first five, quite odd right? If they are successful on the first minutes without him, what more if he is there. Tubid, best defensive player, he can derailed your concentration, poor "cardona"..jay2 is doing great, extremely different, his moves varies, and even jimmy can hold him. Lastly, Alexander, haha, he can makes the shot changed, outstanding performance. Alexander, #1 in blocks and reboundsJayjay, #1 in assistMark, #1 in Average Points per Game... Quote Link to comment

Napuna ko na ang dami nilang fouls na walang kuwenta (esp. mga fouls ni Mamaril at Crisano) na naglagay sa kanila ng maaga sa penalty in the second quarter na naging daan para makahabol at makadikit ang tnt sa kanila kaya ayun ‘yung tambak na sanang laro naging dikit pa, ewan ko kung kinalawang sila o ano sa haba ng bakasyon nila. Nakakatakot makatapat ang tnt sa wildcard o maging sa quarterfinals, kahit walang import may mga locals sila na nagi-step up what more kung hindi nalagay sa foul trouble ang import nila. Tingin ko dapat pang ayusin pa ni jong ang mga plays para sa import nila. Also, talagang mainit pa din sa isa’t isa sina Tubid at Cardona, hehehe. Putik ‘yung pag-tumba ni Tubid sa binigay sa kanya ni Cardona, akala mo kasing-lakas noong killer punch ni Manny (that did Diaz in) ang bigay ni Cardona sa kanya, hanep din sa acting si Fearless, kaya natatawa na lang si Macmac at gesturing na ang lakas naman daw niya para tumumba si Tubid sa tulak n'ya.. nagkaroon pa pla na altercation between Leather and Alexander sa Hallway ng Dugouts.. after the game.
