Barangay Ginebra Kings

:ninja:Old Ginebra syle was a run and gun play.

I remember nun kay siot, his using the high low play kina menk which was very effective dahil sobrang bibilis ng 1,2,3 nun. na maximize nila ang floor spacing. mabilis ang play.

Of course parang interbarangay ang laro nila compared sa TnT...tama ka sir photographer...walang ka play play eh...unlike TnT talagang hasang hasa ang play...paulit ulit...as mentioned before...LA urbiztondo and jayjay...isa lang play ng ginebra...dribble dribble ...itry yun pick and roll...pagnde magmaterialize dridribble then pasa...ayun kung san last napunta yun bola ititira na....may isang play na napakamot nlang ako nagdrive si LA...tapos wala ...labas ulit ...pasa pasa..pero imbes na papasok sa loob...anak ng ??? sa labas biglang tinira ni jayjay ayun sablay!!!...

Hayyy wala talaga ...its not the never say attitude ang problema....its the walang alam and paki attitude ng coaching staff and management....from the monster team with twice to beat advantage nun all filipino ..nde nakapsok sa championship...hanggang ngayon na pinilit si rodgers matagal bago pinalitan...nde na naman nakapsok...mas alam pa ng mga fans ang mga problema eh...INUTIL na coaching staff and management!!!!!

Inutil talaga. If only they can implement the defense of Rain or Shine and the offense and passing of TNT.Kayang kaya ng team gawin yun.Barangay has all the materials.

PBA legend Robert Jaworski in talks with Ang for return to Ginebra, says source

Tatanggapin ko na ba?

Asked about a possible return by Robert Jaworski to Ginebra, his longtime PR man and business manager Reli De Leon says: "Bobby just wants to bring back something for the fans. It's not for the money. He doesn't want the never-say-die spirit to die this way. He wants to revive the animo of Ginebra." Jerome Ascano

PBA icon Robert Jaworski is in talks with San Miguel Corp. top honcho Ramon S. Ang on the possibility of returning to the Ginebra coaching job, a source told Spin.ph on Wednesday.

According to the team insider, Jaworski and Ang have been in constant touch for a while now and last met in March just before the longtime Ginebra playing-coach left for the US to watch the fight between Manny Pacquiao and Timonthy Bradley in Las Vegas.

Incidentally, the last meeting occurred at the height of the Commissioner's Cup struggle of a Ginebra team that has one of the most formidable lineups on paper but continues to fall short - its PBA championship drought now going six years and counting.

On Tuesday, the Gin Kings were ousted from the title chase at the first stage of the playoffs after a lopsided 84-97 loss to top seed Talk 'N Text, heightening the call for changes in the league's most popular ballclub.

"How will I answer it (your question about Jaworski)? Confidential pa kasi 'yung lahat. But there is an ongoing negotiation," said the source. "Wala pang definite, but there are negotiations."

The same source bared that the line of communication between Jaworski and Ang has always been open.

"Hindi mo naman pwedeng sabihin na walang pag-uusap yung dalawa, kasi ang dalas ngang mag guest ni Jawo sa mga events ng Ginebra. Nanood nga siya sa semis game ng team last conference, di ba?" he stressed.

"Sa ngayon talaga, wala pang concrete. Pero may exploratory negotiations na."

In the last interview he granted to Spin.ph last March 7, Jaworski, 68, neither confirmed nor denied reports that he is in talks for a return to a team he helped turn into the most popular in the pro league with its 'never-say-die' spirit and aggressive, rugged style of play.

But the former senator made it clear he is open to a return to basketball, on the condition that he be given "full control" of the team.

[see Jaworski on return to basketball: 'Kung malinaw ang usapan, maganda ang patutunguan, ready tayo.']

Even longtime Ginebra star Mark Caguioa harked back to the team's glory years under Jaworski when he blasted his teammates for being 'soft and lazy' in a Twitter rant, hours after the loss to Talk 'N Text.

Rino Salazar, Jaworski's longtime deputy, has also joined the calls for the one-time PBA MVP's return to the team, telling Spin.ph that it's high time the PBA icon takes over the ballclub again.

On Wednesday, Spin.ph contacted Jaworski's longtime sports affairs PR man and business manager Reli de Leon, but the outspoken sportsman refused to comment on the matter.

De Leon, however, said Jaworski felt bad that the team continues to lose.

"He feels sorry that his team is losing. Mas masaya daw ang Pilipinas pag kasama sa championship ang Ginebra, being the most popular PBA team, mas madaming maligaya, mas masaya ang PBA fans," De Leon said.

Asked how Jaworski missed coaching the team he represented from 1983 to 1998, De Leon, who was with the Big J during the Las Vegas trip for the Pacquiao fight, gave a fascinating response.

"Bobby just wants to bring back something for the fans. It's not for the money. He doesn't want the never-say-die spirit to die this way. He wants to revive the animo of Ginebra," he said.

One caught my attention yung commentaries sa TV............"too much dribbling then STOP"............tama sila, maraming dribble, no plays whatsoever, ang bagal ng mga passing. then STOP na ang offence. Unlike ginawa ng TNT sa kanila, ikot mabilis ang bola until they can find an open man outside or inside. Also, I think its time for JayJay to hang up his uniform and exit gracefully. AND...................overhaul the WHOLE coaching staff. Pati yung team manager nakiki coach. And the overhaul should include ROBERT NON. Freeman came in tooooooo late. Why? Sa sobrang tagal mag decide ni Robert Non to find replacement.

Although i like jayjay as a player, i must agree... This is his time to retire tutal matagal na syang nag second thought on his playing career....

Improvement on the coaching staff is also needed for obvious reasons.... They can not maximize the talent that they have and had made some bad decisions that affected the team as a whole...

Barako bull now has tanquincen and probably will improve... BB knew they needed a fresh perspective sa coaching why can't the gins act fast on this?

There are talks saying confidential nego with #7 is on going, why can't they confirm this nor deny? Para pag natuloy they would say "nakinig kami sa mga fans" at pag hindi natuloy di sila mapahiya at masisis? Ano iniintay nila, maunahan ng expansion teams?

I dont think jawo would coach other teams other than ginebra...he already said na its not about the money...ganun kataas ang tingin ko kay coach Big J, dugong barangay yan! nde nya iiwanan ang gins....gins muna bago iba....

Baka kaya walang kalatoy latoy yun mga coaching staff kasi alam nila papalitan na sila...hmn....

aside from the incompetent coaches na napapansin natin, nakita ko din kagabi na wala na masyadong ginebra fans na nanonood. mas marami pang bakante na upuan kaysa sa nanonood. management should already be concerned about this and act fast. bihira na ngang sumigaw ng gi-ne-bra!! gi-ne-bra!!! o wala na kasing sisigaw...wala na yung 6th man ng ginebra. to ato and company, mahiya naman kayo...delicadeza na lang. tender your resignations. you guys can't even maximize all the talents that you have. si japeth binangko nung 2nd half nung RoS game...yung 4th overall pick nakaupo lang sa bangko...butas na nga yata yung shorts kakaupo. only #7 can bring out the best and fighting spirit of the players.

This will only divide the players...if the players are well guided by a system or adjustment plays, the players 'lapses' that MC pointed out could not have happened...

Mas gusto pa nga niyang ma retain yung coaching staff which baffles the minds of jaded Ginebra fans.

Its fire in the eyes, fire in the mind na nag t trigger ng ganun.

well sa akin you just can't blame the guy. dala na ng frustrations niya yun. anyone who tries his best but just can't seem to accomplish what he wants gets really frustrated...and when you are desperate, it just snaps. ganun ang nakita ko kay LA.

on caguioa's tirade against his teammates, mukhang below the belt naman. palagay ko naman lahat sila sumubok at nagtrabaho. kung di man "nakipagpalitan ng mukha" yung ibang players, palagay ko coaching staff na ang may diperensya. as i said before, the coaching staff doesn't seem to know how to motivate and bring out the best in the players. uulitin ko, ato and company are INCOMPETENT!!! unless and until the coaching staff is totally revamped, ginebra will not go places...put in the "Big J" and we will see a different ginebra team.
