Barangay Ginebra Kings

Sonny J and Al Chua would definitely be a combustible coaching combo. This would add excitement to Ginebra games.

Tinding coaching combination................isang kalbo, isang long hair! Parang before and after na commercial ng Svenson at New Man! Pero seriously, mas gusto ko ang combination ng Jawo at Jarencio...........parang Double J sa PBA!

Miller, Ginebra reach accord on extension

Former two-time PBA Most Valuable Player (MVP) Willie Miller has reached an agreement to a two-year extension with Barangay Ginebra, ending speculations that he’s going to another team next season.

A reliable source who has knowledge with the negotiations said the 5-foot-11 Miller already gave his approval to the deal with the Kings, which is approximately worth P8.4 million for two seasons.

That means the Olongapo City native will earn a maximum salary of P350,000.

“It’s a done deal,” said the source, who asked not to be named as the contract has yet to be finalized.

In a telephone interview with the Bulletin, San Miguel Corp. (SMC) basketball operations chief Robert Non said that they will start talks with all the players with expiring contracts next week.

Aside from Barangay Ginebra, the SMC group also owns San Miguel Beer and B-Meg Derby Ace.

Miller, 33, the league MVP in 2002 and 2006-07 seasons, joined Ginebra in a blockbuster one-on-one trade with Alaska last April 28 in exchange for high-leaping guard Cyrus Baguio.

Miller helped the Kings enter the quarterfinals of the Fiesta Cup, but they lost to the Alaska Aces in a thrilling five-game series.

Baguio, on the other hand, played a key role in Alaska’s title campaign in the recently-concluded Fiesta Cup Finals when they beat San Miguel Beer in six games of the seven-game showdown.

He was named as Welcoat Paints co-Finals MVP with LA Tenorio.

Sana nga si Miller na lang ang ma trade kung sakali. I rather have Mark stay with the team than see him get traded :(

Hay what an obtuse thinking on someone ...mas nauna na akong nag take ng stand on Mark than Miller if the Gins would have to choose one over the other.:P

Nothing to be excited about with MAMA's return. We've seen him play with the Gin Kings for several years and has been in this league for quite some time. I guess at most he's a decent reliever for a big man but is not necessary the BIG MAN that we hope for which could provide us an impact.

Given a choice, I'd rather have Danny I in our line-up than Mamaril. And since hindi na rin masyadong nagagamit si Danny S sa SMB, isama na rin siya.

21 August 2010 News Update and inside scoop, a hard-nosed guard will suit-up with the Gin Kings linking with unconfirmed reports that this Air21 guard will be donning the red-white jersey this coming All Filipino conference? And Billy Mamaril will have to earn a slot with his former team after hearing coach Yeng Guiao will focus on developing future talents in his team.

In fact SMC Group of Companies are shifting players and coaches to balance their teams and tighten resources for the future plan of acquiring PAGCOR. Looking forward on the said draft day, Ginebra plans to send some of their drafted rookies and additional players for the needed break to acquire those two big men or they might push the other way around exchanging their draft picks plus players for much higher draft pick to acquire one rookie bigman out of the draft pool.

What surprises me for now let the Rain pour down and the sun will Shine tomorrow, lets all hope for the best for two or three new players will don Ginebra jersey next conference if this team will come into terms. Like what I have said earning talents could be other way around, for the mean time all of the offers are considerably fair.

share ko lang chismax...
