I hope Jawo returns so that the old Ginebra mystique will likewise be back. Ginebra became a fan favorite coz of him and with him at the helm, fans will cheer lustily just like what they did when Jawo was coach. Ginebra is a crowd favorite but Jawo is the catalyst that makes the players play with more fervor and the fans excited and always eager to watch a Ginebra game.

nope Ginebra fan na ako dati pa nun hawak ni coach hanggang ngayon. Pero so paniniwala ko malabo nag bumalik is Jawo sa coaching. Kasi kung gugustuhin niya dati pa considering may mga offers na rin siyang natanggap from other teams.

Pero kung bumalik man si coach sa Gin Kings kalokohan yan sinasabi mong with the present line-up kayang mag establish ng DYNASTY. Be Real!!!

Anong kalokohan pinagsasabi mo? It's ironic that you're a Ginebra fan (or is it bandwagoner?) yet you don't believe that they could have a dynasty with their current line-up. Your nick befits you. Haha!

Been a Gins fan since Jawo moved there to this day ... Do you know the meaning of a Bandwagoner?

In sports, someone who shamelessly cheers for a particular team not because he likes them or follows them faithfully, but only because that particular team is the "popular" choice or has been or is the top team in their specific sport recently. When that team which bandwagoners follow falls from grace, they gleefully jump on the next teams bandwagon and cheer for that team.

What is ironic in me for not buying your PERSONAL OPINION? As a GINS fan, my loyalty and support is to the team win or lose and not to what you say. :P

You started posting about the Lakers only after they became champs in 2009. Where were you when the Lakers were getting their asses handed to them by the Suns in 2006 and 2007? Also, were you posting when the greatest team of all-time walloped the LA Losers in the Finals in 2008? I'm guessing you were cheering for another team. Pati sa Ginebra bandwagoner ka din.

Bandwagoner ka naman. As for my opinion, I based this on a historical fact. Perhaps you were still a toddler when Ginebra won the 1988 All-Filipino which featured a ragtag team of Gonzalgo, the Loyzaga brothers, Jawo and Ampalayo. Si Ampalayo pa yung center nila nun. They beat a powerhouse Purefoods team of future 4-time MVP Captain Lionheart, Codinera and Jolas. If Jawo could do that to a ragtag team, what more with this team which has superior talent.

Just because you started posted when one team started winning does not prove one is a bandwagoner. It's just like were you posting when Celtics were in their lows before the Big 3 era? If the team lost and one starts to cheer for the winning team then that person is a bandwagoner. But so far you can't show that it had happened.

To Illustrate: Person M openly posted that he is for Powerade team to represent RP in future international tournaments despite the not so encouraging finish it had the last tournament. The reason is becase the PBA players are supposedly superior than than the amature players of Gilas. When Gilas won over Powerade in an exhibition game then Person M suddely had a change of heart and to this day sings praises for Gilas. Now this example is clearly bandwagoning and I'm sure you can relate to it.

As far as your crystal ball that says Ginebra is a dynasty in the making should the Big J take over, you're probably blinded by that historical fact! How many times did Jawo lead a ragtag Ginebra team to an all filipino championship? ONE time and that's it!!! That was the only ALL FILIPINO crown coach won and it was over a talented but rookie laden team. The Franchise was even suspended for alleged game fixing if your history serves you well.  So what am I driving at? Well, stop this crap that Anejo won over a "strong" Purefoods team when the fact of the matter is this Purefoods teams has always been a bridesmaid but never been a bride in its first 2 season.  I call that inexperience or growing pains on Purefoods.

Now for argument's sake if indeed Jawo coaching can turn things around. How can you guarantee a dynasty this day when the last dynasty we've seen was the time of San Miguel and Alaska's grandslam team. History will also tell you that;in recent years there was no successful defense of an all filipino title. That tells you something about the state of this league now for you to DREAM ABOUT A DYNASTY in the making.

Tanong ko lang. Anong kinalaman ng Powerade Team dito sa Ginebra thread? Out of topic ka na peithe/celts/liar. As I expected, you could not answer the question "where were you when the LA Losers were being owned by the Suns in 2006 & 2007? and by the Celtics in 2008?" Nagpost ka ba? Oh, you must have been cheering for the Celtics under a different nick para hindi halata na bandwagoner ka. Diba Celts isa sa mga nick mo?

The fact is Ginebra won over a talent-laden Purefoods team in 1988. I don't think Ginebra could have won that one if Jawo was not the coach. You said bridesmaid. The fact that they were second-best most of the time in their first 2 seasons is an implication that they made the Finals consistently in their first 2 years. In other words, Purefoods was a strong team. You say you're a fan of Ginebra yet you keep on belittling Jawo's leading a ragtag team over a powerhouse team. Ano ba talaga peithe/celts/liar? Dapat liar na lang gamitin mo since mas bagay sayo.

If one would want to claim that Purefoods of circa 88-89 was a strong team so be it as that is not the main point of contention. The issue on hand is BIG J being able to create a DYNASTY with the current lineup if he returns. But to say that since the Big J beat Purefoods then with a ragtag squad does not mean he can build a dynasty today. As I have said times have change and even the team that is strongest on paper could not even repeat as b2b all filipino champion. And how confident are you that the current Gin kings can beat the Anejo champion team?

Sabi mo Rag tag team ba ang Anejo? As far as I know, they got 3 players included in the 1990 Asiad that won a silver namely Cuenco, Loyzaga and Gonzalgo. That tells you the quality of player that they had at that time. Hindi man "superstars" these guys plays their hearts out. They play also plays aggressive D which is not at par with what the current team shows.

Bottomline, is it really Big J's coaching? Maybe yes maybe not. Am not saying jawo is a bad coach but if he's good he should be consistent in leading the team to another all filipino finale. How come it never happened?
