boadicea
They've added a mermaid show - you need a P150 receipt of food or non food items that you've bought inside the Manila Ocean Park store. It's a sycnhronized underwater display of sexy taleneted ladies - mermaids. Fun to watch than just the regular fishes swimming around It's still the same for the regular rate of Php 400 tho. g_funk
I've been to Melbourne Aquarium and Underwater World in Sentosa, it's not comparable to ours and the price fetches like at least 2x that of Manila Ocean Park. It's quite expensive to maintain such infrastructure so I wouldn't make a fuss about the price. Quote Link to comment
khilua23
been here last january... medyo mataas nga entrance fee considering na hindi ka naman pwede magtagal sa isang place at makita lahat ng fish dun.. may time limit kasi. more or less 30mins lang stay namin sa loob. Anaheim
There's an added attraction at the Manila Ocean Park, it's called JELLIES : DANCING SEA FAIRIES ...it's an exhibit of different kinds of jelly fishes, because of the transparency of its non-exoskelatal bodies it absorbs light when lighted upon, pulsating lights in perfect synch with the music makes a nice entertainment. I've seen this one just like the Jelly Fish Sea Exhibit at Ocean Park Hong Kong The OceanariumOctober 1, 2009 to November 30, 2009Weekday (except Public Holiday): 8:00am to 7:00pm - Last Entry 6:15pmWeekend & Public Holiday: 9:00am to 8:00pm - Last Entry 7:15pm Jellies: Dancing Sea FairiesOctober 1, 2009 to November 30, 2009Mondays to Fridays: 8:00am to 7:00pm - Last Entry 6:15pmSaturdays, Sundays and Holidays: 9:00am to 8:00pm - Last Entry 7:15pm http://manilaoceanpark.com/newsletters/jellies_ads.jpg Edited October 9, 2009 by Anaheim Quote Link to comment
Anaheim
A new attraction at the Manila Ocean Park is now open. It's called JELLIES: DANCING SEA FAIRIES. An exhibition of assorted Jellyfishes synchronized with music and lighting effect giving a sense of seeing 'aliens' from a different world. The amazing Jellyfishes with its translucent gelatinous body reflects light giving an enchanting glow to their appearance.  I am delighted that these sea wonders which brought awe in Ocean Parks of the world are now here in the Philippines specifically at the Manila Ocean Park. Manila Ocean Park is located behind the Quirino Grandstand at the Rizal Park, also near the historical Manila Hotel. Prices P150 per person (Adult and Child) http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_-QLGkX4WoQQ/StO88RWwn5I/AAAAAAAAB78/UM6RyyPfCFY/s400/7519_1238246430809_1068719127_773851_6950388_n.jpg http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_-QLGkX4WoQQ/StO8tOXzpII/AAAAAAAAB7s/0PrFQ499gwE/s400/7519_1238244990773_1068719127_773849_6492331_n.jpg http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_-QLGkX4WoQQ/StO8s371pcI/AAAAAAAAB7k/Xhy1LI0Y020/s400/7519_1238244950772_1068719127_773848_5754455_n.jpg I have seen the same Jellyfish attraction at the Ocean Park Hong Kong, it has the same concept, same design but different music played (at least, when I visited the place). The music played in Hong Kong, specifically at the Jellyfish columns, was fast-paced and upbeat synchronized with light colors. The music played in the Philippine counterpart is a slow orchestral music although giving a soothing effect while watching the Jellyfishes. Different strokes for different folks (or countries). noypiblazer
did they lower their entrance rate? i was there a couple of new year ago and the rate is much higher than what is the latest post..... I think Anheim meant was P 150 for the jellies dancing sea fairies. it's still P 400 for the oceanarium (adult), P 350 for kiddies below 4.5 feet Quote Link to comment
jester911
visited the place last year, the kids loved it, medyo steep nga ung pricing pero gustong gusto nung mga bata, will try it out again next year since I heard na may dinagagdag daw na mga attractions Quote Link to comment

remoteworld
went there with my family last Apr 7th, very disappointing, too much media hype less stuff to show. (1) damn those queues, for 400bucks i must wait in line?(2) cartimar in a good day has better stocks and variety. (3) for 400bucks after a disappointing tour i sure deserve a short exit, but wait ... there's NONE. endure an uneventful long exit walk, hard selling the inhouse resto and souvenir shop.(4) compared to Sydney, Singapore, US and HK, ours is just an aquarium.(5) the petting area are supposedly the highlight of the tour, NONE. "you can't touch that" says the attendant. Hell for free you can touch anything you want to if you go to cartimar, even black tip sharks 3 ft long.(6) it's greedy to offer a service that's half-baked.(7) too few exhibits, nothing expectacular to brag about, obscene entrance fee. 3K+ in less than an hour, robbery I say.my kid asked the touring attendant what's the tagalog word for eel. well, the attendant didn't know so she went to the nearest eel in exhibit but there's no tagalog translation of eel there. last resort, she asked her supervisor. she couldn't name it either. then my kid say it's PALOS. now the attendants know it's palos. hehehe. it's been years they've been telling everybody they'll add more attractions. so far only commecial establishments are being added. more fish! klayko243
I've been to thi splace and I enjoyed all the aquariums specially the sharks and the doctor fish. Although the boat ride on top of the aquarium could use a lil bit of an uprgrade for the boat Quote Link to comment

Guest megalodon
It's relatively expensive for the fish tour. Maybe management should lower it to 300 max for the package. Quote Link to comment

Anaheim
We visited the newest attraction at the Manila Ocean Park on a Palm Sunday March 28, 2010. Reports say that the attraction was recently launched on March 26, 2010 so lucky us.  Acquatica is a spectacular light and water show blended with pyrotechnical works and choreographed stage play. It tells a simple, inspiring story backed up by captivating music and dramatic multi-media effects of pyrotechnics, synchronized water jets that squirt water 20 to 40 meters high, and bursts of flame.  It is similar to Singapore's musical fountain show in Sentosa Island and IMHO, I can say that Acquatica is more innovative in terms of effects because the show incorporates fireworks and flames not seen in the musical fountain show in Sentosa !  It is located just in front of the entrance of the Manila Ocean Park. Prices is P300 on weekends, P250 on weekdays or you can avail of a discount price of P500 which includes two attraction - The Oceanarium and the Maiden of the Sea show in Acquatica. Show starts 6:30pm, 7:30pm and 8:30pm daily. Best for family fun and entertainment this summer ! http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_-QLGkX4WoQQ/S7C-NljrnWI/AAAAAAAAEYg/c1dpaQEuzEc/s320/DSCN3303.JPG http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_-QLGkX4WoQQ/S7C-XYoAMMI/AAAAAAAAEYo/HDh7oIsDqyQ/s320/DSCN3471.JPG http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_-QLGkX4WoQQ/S7C-mH-sdBI/AAAAAAAAEYw/xGTs84Pcu2c/s320/DSCN3477.JPG http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_-QLGkX4WoQQ/S7C-yA7JCmI/AAAAAAAAEY4/5AdlT6CvVkY/s320/DSCN3502.JPG http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_-QLGkX4WoQQ/S7C_HTBmyHI/AAAAAAAAEZI/JPCad8HsK7E/s320/DSCN3539.JPG http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_-QLGkX4WoQQ/S7C_QXujOMI/AAAAAAAAEZQ/xExrh6t2kNw/s320/DSCN3543.JPG http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_-QLGkX4WoQQ/S7C_ZGWvr2I/AAAAAAAAEZY/MEOL0Wts1AQ/s320/DSCN3550.JPG Quote Link to comment
