revi Posted August 4, 2006 Share Posted August 4, 2006 Bka mga packs din ang bilhin ko. Swerte ako sa pag packs binibili ko. Tulad dati sa NBA, Nakakakuha ako ng Jordan, Shaq mga Super Boss. Yung P80 ko non nagiging mga P200 pa open ko ng packs. I used to buy NBA cards sa may Robisons Place about 8yrs ago. I think sa may 2nd floor yon near sa CR. Ang alam ko Bowling lane na yon ngayon. Yknow what the people who open boxes of Magic cards to sell.. They say that if you open a box of Magic cards its either you would break-even or you would earn.. Wala daw talo.. Some people that I know who are known to make money out of selling NBA cards before have transferred to opening VS cards, Magic, Yugi-Oh, Pokemon.. and other playing cards.. Dati kasi kinakapa ang mga cards sa NBA (kasama ako dati sa mga nangangapa.. hehehe!!!).. ngayon sa sobrang mahal.. kakaunti na ang available packs and boxes na inoopen consistently.. Usually binibili na lang nila puros boxes.. So, kadalasan talo.. Ang mahal pa ng pack prices ngayon.. FYI.. Ngayon yung mga kumakapa ngayon lumipat na sa Magic.. Kadalasan ubos na rin ang magaganda kapag mayroong box na ino-pen.. But hindi naman lahat nakakapa nila.. Dahil sa dami ng naglalaro ng Magic.. Mabilis ang turn-over ng boxes.. Kaya sa isang linggo siguro may 2-3 boxes ang inoo-pen especially kapag new release.. Napansin ko lang ito.. Plus the fact na nagkalat ang boxes and packs ng Magic cards.. Madali nitong mag-collect.. Sa ngayon, I am thinking of going lie-low with my card collecting for 2 months.. Off-season kasi ng NBA.. Wala masyadong madaming new items na ire-release for August and September.. Babalik ako ulit sa October.. Sa ngayon, pasundot-sundot lang kapag may mga good (cheap) deals.. Dude, with regards to Magic Cards.. hindi naman masyadong mahal ang Magic Cards eh.. Okay lang except for the foil rare inserts that I have seen na pwedeng mag-fetch ng as low as Php200 to even as high as Php2K.. But if you are just interested in collecting the drawings/artworks.. mura lang naman ang commons.. usually 2-5 pesos ang cheapest niyan.. Wala rin dude.. pina-pace ko din ang gastos.. madami din akong cards na pinalampas.. Dahil hindi kaya ng budget.. Yun ngang Voltes V mo.. hindi ko mabili eh.. namamahalan kasi ako bro.. Some go as up as 10K.. some are 9500, 8500 and 8000.. Yung 8K.. medyo wala na yatang patong daw yun.. That 5K thing is wishful thinking.. I doubt kung mangyayari yun.. Wala lang baka bigla lang masiraan ng ulo ang mga retailers at mag-sale.. hehehe!!! Well, the Voltes toy is not in my list of priorities.. more of Basketball cards, marvel hero clix/toys lang muna ako.. Napaka-nostalgic kasi ng Voltes na toy coz of its popularity when I grew up.. Try mo benta sa ebay..... I agree with you, Bro Yugi.. Basketball cards became a fad before coz it came out of nowhere and pack prices were all selling cheap.. Kumbaga before.. If you open a 80 peso pack.. One could sell common cards for 10 peso ea.. Kasi nga mura ang packs.. Magtaka ka if you open a pack worth 150 up before mahal na yun.. The brand Topps Finest started the expensive pack prices.. This was in the early 90's to mid 90's.. But because devaluation of the peso.. pack prices went up (fluctuation of the dollar) and people started to flock the exit gates coz they can't afford the prices and the number of collectors went down.. After the 1998 NBA lock out season.. a huge number of collectors stopped and sold their collections.. But you know what.. inserts before were selling briskly.. that made the prices really go up.. Andrean48 would know this coz his super boss cards from ZForce can fetch high prices before but sad to say.. not now.. Collectors do not consider insert cards as investment quality anymore.. Ang hinahanap ngayon jersey cards at autographs.. The old autographs are really selling heavily in the secondary market.. autographs of Mutombo, Bogues, Kevin Johnson, Christian Laettner and other lesser popular players can fetch high prices in e-bay (and here) but not their inserts.. Jersey, Patch cards are also nice collections but autographs talaga ang the best.. Rookie cards are also good.. but the more rare ones lang ang usually na hinahanap.. Therefore, it does not follow that all basketball cards (and sport cards) would go up in value because of the player involved and the expensive prices of boxes and packs.. Rarity ang pinag-uusapan.. Siyempre Michael Jordan, Lebron, Kobe are stable crop of hobby greats but even that would not guarantee that you could sell it easily.. In my almost a decade of collecting.. I have seen fads come and go.. inserts ang fad.. (yung makinang na card, die-cut, refractors, etc.).. Ngayon kinukuha pa din ang inserts kaso depende sa player.. Kamukha ko, I only get Tim Duncan inserts.. Rookie cards of certain players like MJ, Duncan, Iverson, Kobe, Lebron, Wade are still hot.. Sa Jerseys.. player na din ang labanan.. Ako, Duncan jerseys lang.. But when it comes to Autographs.. hay naku!!! Yan ang the best to collect and invest.. Especially the legends like Wilt, Jerry West, Baylor, etc. Quote Link to comment

Hero Clix can actually be considered as toys.. they are small versions of your action figures.. may dial sa ilalim (if you are familiar with the Mage Knight craze before - parang ganito din ito) and are usually available in packs as well.. May rare (unique ang tawag dito) at mayroong commons.. The figures are played as board game figures.. May tourneys din ito.. much like Magic the Gathering but kakaunti dito sa Pinas ang naglalaro.. Its funny but a lot only collect the figs.. I started collecting its Marvel line since its first release because halos lahat ng characters sa Marvel Universe ilalabas daw as a figure.. And because of its small size it can easily be fit in glass cabinets.. Highly collectible ang mga ito at may price guide din ang mga ito..
