just watched WWE Smackdown here in Sydney.

 

Hart Dynasty def SES (retained Unified Tag Team Belt)

- after the match, Kane came out and chokeslammed Joey Mercury and Tyson Kidd. Announced that it was Rey Mysterio who attacked his brother.

 

MVP def Dashing Cody Rhodes

 

Alberto del Rio def Chavo Guerero

- weak mashado finisher nitong si del rio, and he had a hard time defeating Chavo.

 

Layla def Kelly Kelly (retained Women's Belt)

Dolph Zigler def Kofi Kingston (retained Inter C Belt)

- before the 1st match started, Tony Chimel announced that Zigler is the new IC Champ and he will defend it against Kingston.

RAW Taping for August 2

 

(MELINA RETURNS!!)

 

Edge comes out to the ring for a promo. He states that he remembered that he should only trust one person, and that's himself. He wants to do things his way when it comes to Nexus, and tonight, he's getting started by challenging Wade Barrett to a one-on-one contest, and he doesn't want any help from anyone. Cue up R-Truth's music. Truth comes out and puts Edge in his place, reminding Edge that it needs to be all about the team come Summerslam, and that Edge needs to put his pride behind him. The GM sound hits, and Michael Cole announces that Edge will get his wish, and that the match between Edge and Barrett will be next. Truth wishes Edge a sarcastic good luck, and tells him that he will be on his own.

 

(1) Edge vs. Wade Barrett ended in No Contest in 7:00 when Nexus hit the ring and Edge escaped through crowd. Wade Barrett comes out to the ring solo. Some decent action for a while, climaxing when Edge hits the Impaler DDT and appeared to be setting up for the Spear. Barrett saw it coming, though, and bailed out of the ring. Barrett then smiles and makes a motion, leading to all of the Nexus members rushing the ring. However, Edge saw them coming and bailed out through the crowd. No official announcement was made for a finish.

 

(2) Divas champion Alicia Fox & Tamina & Jillian beat Natalya & Gail Kim & Eve in 3:00. Melina made her return, taking out Alicia. Typical throw-all-the-Divas-in-a-match that ended when Tamina distracted Natalya long enough for Alicia to hit her axe kick and get the pin on Natalya. Alicia then grabbed the mic and gloated about how, no matter if it was in singles, tags, six-person, or even fatal four-way, that she had beaten all the Divas that the Raw locker room had to offer. You knew where this was going real quick. Cue the return of Melina. The crowd pops huge as Melina makes her triumphant return to the ring. Alicia tries to scatter out, but gets tossed back in the ring to take a beat down from Melina ending with her primal scream split-leg drop finisher. Nothing was officially announced, but it seemed to plant the seeds for these two to have a match at Summerslam.

 

Edge finds John Cena backstage. After a brief argument, Edge concludes that Cena doesn't really have his back, so Edge quits the team for Summerslam. Chris Jericho then comes up behind Cena and tells Cena that Cena should be the one to quit the team so there can be some cohesiveness under his lead. Jericho offers to face Cena in a match where the loser must quit the SummerSlam team. Cena hesitates, but eventually accepts.

 

John Morrison is backstage talking with Great Khali and Runjin Singh, apparently trying to mend ways after their fight last week. When Morrison leaves, a few Nexus members stop Khali. They tell Khali that the reason they didn't attack him last week was because they respect himi, and they say the doors are open if Khali's ever interested.

 

(3) WWE champion Sheamus beat Goldust in 2:00. A video package highlights the feud that Sheamus and Goldust had about a year ago on ECW that climaxed with Sheamus defeating Goldust in a No DQ match. Tonight's contest would be nothing of the same. Sheamus absolutely squashed Goldust with all his trademark moves, hitting the Celtic Cross for the pinfall. To quote Sheamus in a post-match interview, "What a difference a year makes." Sheamus goes on to promise that he will take out Orton at Summerslam, just like he took out Triple H in the past.

 

(4) John Cena beat Chris Jericho in 12:00. Jericho was forced to quit Team Cena at Summerslam. A good match between these two, as they have had many times before. Cena appeared to legitimately tweak his knee about two-thirds of the way through the match. The finish came with Jericho going for the Walls Of Jericho, but Cena rolls through and goes for the STF, with Jericho tapping out before Cena even really had a chance to lock in the hold. Cena grabs the mic and asks Jericho to stay on the team, but leaves the choice to Jericho - he can either walk back to the ring and let bygones be bygones, or he can walk away from the whole thing. Jericho teases a return to the ring before walking out on Cena, apparently leaving the team for Summerslam as well.

 

A long promo for Alberto Del Rio airs.

 

Backstage, Edge and Chris Jericho agree that Cena needed them more than they needed Cena. They talk about maybe it's time they put their differences aside and be the two dominant forces on Raw once again. As Edge and Jericho give a bro-hug, the GM queue sounds. Cole announces that next week on Raw, Edge and Jericho will take on John Cena and his partner, Bret Hart

, but with the seven Nexus members as ringside lumberjacks.

 

Randy Orton cuts a backstage promo. He reminds Sheamus that he's also put Triple H on the shelf for some time, so that feat doesn't mean much to him. Orton invites Sheamus to watch his match against Miz tonight so he can see what he'll be up against at Summerslam.

 

(5) Great Khali (w/Runjin Singh) beat Ted DiDiase (w/Maryse) in 3:00 when Nexus distracted DiBiase. There was an interesting plot twist when Wade Barrett and Skip Sheffield came down to ringside to grab the Million Dollar Belt. This allowed DiBiase to be distracted long enough for Khali to chop him down and then follow with the vice grip for the win.

 

(6) Randy Orton beat U.S. champion The Miz in 12:00 in a non-title main event. Miz cuts a promo before the match saying that Orton will pay for giving him the RKO last week. The match starts off, and about four minutes into it, Sheamus comes to the top of the ramp to observe. After about seven minutes more of good solid action, Orton drops Miz with the RKO to pick up the win. Post-match, Sheamus attempts to run down to ringside, but Orton sees him coming and stares him down. Orton and Sheamus staring at each other is the close of the show.

Rey comes out and says he's true to his fans and starts speaking in spanish a lot and pretty much kissing up to the fans and saying he didn't take out the undertaker. Then Drew Mcintrye comes out and says asks how Rey could have done such a thing. Drew wants to take out Rey just like he took out Christian last week when he hurt his arm. He challenges rey to a match later and rey accepts.

 

Kofi Kingston vs. Dolph Ziggler for the Intercontinental Championship is announced for later tonight.

 

Cody Rhodes beat Matt Hardy with the crossroads

 

Backstage, Teddy is demanding that Laycool give up one of the belts, Michelle gives up hers after arguing with Layla but then they argue more and they end up breaking the other belt in half but they seem happy about it.

 

Kofi Kingston vs. Dolph Ziggler for the Intercontinental Championship

Vickie introduces Dolph Ziggler out.

Ziggler becomes the NEW Intercontinental Champion after some interference from Vickie and then hitting the Zig Zag. Ziggler does a little celebration before Kofi goes bananas yet again and beats up Ziggler bad. Ziggler gets carried to the back.

 

The Straight Edge Society vs Big Show is announced for Summerslam.

 

Here comes the Straight Edge Society with mercury, gallows, serena and punk with his bald head. CM Punk shows footage from last week's beatdown on big show. the SES are proud of their handy work and punk asks his SES if they are happy and they say yes. He says don't be happy and to get on your knees and starts talking about that being happy makes them weak. He gives them a a little pep talk to get ready for their 6 man tag team match.

 

MVP, Chris masters, JTG vs. SES

 

SES wins after luke gallows pins MVP.

 

They showed a video on the titantron with teddy talking with swagger. swagger said it's teddy's fault for what's going on with kane and losing control. Teddy says he will not be in the triple threat match for the world title in the cage match later tonight and instead gives him the night off. So i'am not sure if this will be shown on tv, it looks like it was only for us fans since they mentioned the dark main event.

 

Main Event: Rey Mysterio vs. Drew Mcintrye

Rey mysterio defeats drew mcintrye with a rollup win.

 

After the match, out comes kane, drew tosses rey to kane. Kane has brought a casket to the ring. Rey manages to escape and rey then says he didn't take out The Undertaker, it was KANE!. Kane is in the ring just standing for a very long time looking up above to the ceiling. It looks like he was crying or getting mad or something, he didn't say a word and that's how it ended.

being in their 40's, i think Taker and HHH will return next year, probably months before Wrestlemania to setup a match.

their steel cage, hell in a cell, NO DQ matches is already taking a toll on their bodies.

 

in terms of the storyline, it's really funny to think that mysterio attacked and even battered taker. in terms of height and strength alone, taker will beat rey by miles. i think the reason taker had to be put to the shelf is because of a broken nose. in his last smackdown match before the "memorial day" incident, he battled mysterio and at the end of the match, his nose was bleeding.

 

if the "Story" that it was kane who attacked taker is true, that would make a good storyline for the championship belt. brothers of destruction destroying each other for the championship. it's been a long time since kane was involved with a championship. in a sport where big muscular men rule, it is hard to imagine that kane, big show, and khali have lesser championship reigns to speak of compared to the likes of "smaller" men like y2j, edge and even john cena.

Lance Cade dies at 29

 

The Wrestling Observer is reporting that the body of former WWE star Lance Cade was discovered earlier today by his father, Harley. As WWE has reported, the cause of death appears to be heart failure, however that has yet to be officially announced.

 

It's being said that two family members believed there was something wrong with Cade over the past week, including his wife Tracy who noticed he didn't look healthy and that he was having trouble breathing. Cade was rushed to the hospital on Tuesday night and he was later released on Wednesday.

 

One interesting note is that once he returned home, he later left and never returned. His father, Harley, noticed that Cade showed up at his work on Thursday and was not looking good at all. He later went to Cade's home in San Antonio, TX and discovered he had passed away. Cade was not believed to have been drinking.

According to a report on PWInsider.com, WWE Diva Tiffany was suspended by the company earlier this week following an alleged incident at a hotel WWE talent was staying at in San Jose, California.

 

The alleged incident was reportedly between Tiffany and her real-life husband, WWE Superstar Drew McIntyre. Some reports claim Tiffany was arrested, although those rumors have yet to be confirmed.

 

Tiffany was scheduled to work this Sunday's WWE SummerSlam pay-per view. As of this article, WWE has not announced a change to her scheduled match.

Was shocked to hear Cade's passing. It would be heartless to speculate what caused his heart attack, so I'll just wait for the official autopsy. I've seen a lot of posts on different forums blaming the WWE for not guiding Cade through his substance abuse problem (which they point out to be the cause of his heart attack), but I'll have to shy away from pointing any fingers to put the blame on. What's important is that Cade left his kids & his wife behind, and they're grieving his sudden loss.

 

To sum up my feelings on Cade's passing: DAMN.
