bret_hart
According to several sources, former Ring of Honor/Wrestling Society X star Matt Sydal has officially signed a deal with World Wrestling Entertainment and will be finishing up his independent bookings and then report to wherever he is assigned by the company. PWTorch.com is reporting that With the recent suspensions and injuries of several top WWE wrestlers, the company is in need of more star power. Two names that WWE is hoping to bring back this fall are Shawn Michaels and Chris Jericho. However, neither man has officially agreed to a return date. Shawn Michaels underwent knee surgery on May 23rd and was originally expected to return by the end of summer. Those plans are currently on hold - as Shawn Michaels has informed WWE that he is in no rush to return. He is considering taking an extended break from the road and then returning at a later time with a lighter schedule. WWE is in a completely different place than it was when Michaels was injured - with the Benoit family tragedy and the Congressional investigation. WWE continues to have interest in a Chris Jericho return. It is unclear how close the two parties are to striking a deal, but there is ongoing contact. A press conference will be held tomorrow morning at 10:45 a.m. Eastern at the Roosevelt Hotel in New York to release findings from the examination of the brain of Chris Benoit. Michael Benoit, the father of Chris, gave Julian Bailes, MD, the Chair of the Department of Neurosurgery at West Virginia University, the rights to examine his son's brain. Michael Benoit will be speaking at the press conference along with Dr. Robert Cantu (Director of sports Medicine at Emerson Hospital in Concord, MA) and Cary Itchter (Benoit's lawyer). It is believed at this point that the findings reveal at the press conference will confirm damage that would enable a "diminished capaciy" defense for Chris Benoit's slaying of his wife and son before killing himself. As reported earlier, Michael Benoit will be appearing on ABC this Thursday on "Good Morning America" and "Nightline" to talk about the diminished capacity theory. Quote Link to comment

Written by John McDermott Wednesday, 05 September 2007 I have heard through a couple of mediums that the wrestlers who will be suspended for 60 days, and the person who apparently is the repeat offender has been going around telling people within his circle that he will be available and not traveling. The man who we won't see until November? Reports are saying that it is none other than... King Booker. Quote Link to comment

MODERATOR tamago Posted September 6, 2007 MODERATOR Share Posted September 6, 2007 Actually, ok lang if Flair leaves. Like howard said, he's old na. La na masyadong moves, puro WHOOOO! lang. Yung charisma lang yung nagpapabuhay sa kanya. Other than that, nil. He should have retired a long time ago Pag nagpunta siya sa TNA, mag tag team sila ng Bob Backlund. Welcome to Geriatric Park! But I still wouldn't mind him staying. As for him becoming champ again,... nah. He had his run na Quote Link to comment

New findings in Benoit caseDoctor: Brain damage may be a factor in tragedyPosted: Wednesday September 5, 2007 11:55AM; Updated: Wednesday September 5, 2007 11:55AM ATLANTA (AP) -- Pro wrestler Chris Benoit suffered brain damage from his years in the ring that could help explain why he killed his wife, son and himself, a doctor who studied Benoit's brain said Wednesday. The analysis by doctors affiliated with the Sports Legacy Institute suggests repeated concussions could have contributed to the killings at Benoit's suburban Atlanta home. Steroid use also has lingered as a theory, since anabolic steroids were found in the home and tests conducted by authorities showed Benoit had roughly 10 times the normal level of testosterone in his system when he died. The institute, which researches the long-term effects of concussions, coordinated the testing using samples of Benoit's brain tissue provided by the Georgia Bureau of Investigation. The Waltham, Mass.-based institute's president is former pro wrestler Christopher Nowinski, who has said he had to quit the ring after a kick to the head. Nowinski still has ties with World Wrestling Entertainment Inc., which runs the league he and Benoit were in. A lawyer for Stamford, Conn.-based WWE did not immediately return a call Wednesday seeking comment. The company has maintained steroid use did not cause Benoit to snap. Despite the results of the institute's tests, there was no way to know if Benoit's concussions contributed to the murder-suicide, said Dr. Robert Cantu, a member of the institute who also is chief of neurosurgery service at Emerson Hospital in Concord, Mass. "Whether it is the sole factor I believe is speculation and I will not go there," Cantu said by phone. The level of brain damage Benoit had can cause depression and irrational behavior, Cantu said. Benoit's brain showed the same degenerative processes that doctors working for the institute found in the brains of three men who had played pro football and committed suicide, Cantu said. There were abnormal protein deposits caused by trauma to Benoit's brain, Cantu said. There's no evidence that steroid use causes such protein deposits, Cantu said, though he noted the issue has not been exhaustively studied. Investigators allowed the institute to test Benoit's brain tissue with the permission of his father, Michael Benoit, who lives near Edmonton in Ardrossan, Alberta. Michael Benoit said Wednesday that he agreed to the testing because murder-suicide was out of character for his son. He also disclosed that after the killings, he discovered a diary written by his son that showed his son was having problems. "After reading the diary, I would have thought it was written by someone who was extremely disturbed at the time," Michael Benoit said. He did not elaborate, but he did say a friend told him that prior to the murder-suicide, Chris Benoit had been wearing a rosary, which he said was also out of character. "I think it's the extreme that is in the wrestling industry today," he told reporters. "The human skull is not built to get hit by a chair or something." Nowinski said concussions can happen in pro wrestling even though many of the moves are staged. "I got four concussions in three years as a professional wrestler," said Nowinski, who works for the WWE on its initiative to encourage young people to vote. "A lot of concussions happen from mistakes." Prosecutors have said Benoit, 40, strangled his wife with a cord, used a choke hold to strangle his 7-year-old son, placed Bibles next to the bodies and hanged himself on a piece of exercise equipment the weekend of June 22. Authorities have said Benoit's personal doctor, Phil Astin, prescribed a 10-month supply of anabolic steroids to Benoit every three to four weeks between May 2006 and May 2007. Astin has pleaded not guilty to federal charges of improperly prescribing painkillers and other drugs to two patients other than Benoit. Quote Link to comment

JediMasterTebs
Flair is old, though Im kinda dissapointed he left not winning his 17th World Title(sayang!).. A move to TNA might be a little pre-mature.. One, because I think TNA cannot give a more or less 6 figure contract that the WWE can give, two, the guy needs to "recharge" if not retire from wrestling.. Quote Link to comment
loudchild
WTF Mysterio with a title shot against Khali? Dnt get me wrong, i like Rey Mysterio and Im hapi he's back but with a title shot fo the world heavyweight title? another cinderella story ba e2? wala na bang bago? nakakaumay na e. i was expecting that they just let him get the cruiserweight crown or something. Quote Link to comment
JediMasterTebs
Maybe just maybe give the title to Taker after Misterio gets the beat down at Unforgiven, thats the most logical thing.. Quote Link to comment
