Condo Unit Or House & Lot?

I think if you can buy a house and lot at the same location as condos with the same security then obviously you'd go for the House (assuming you can afford it)

But there's a few more realistic considerations.

1. Very hard and very expensive to buy houses in the "middle/business centers" of the city i.e. Makati, Ortigas centre etc.

To get good location, you sacrifice getting a house and lot and get a condo instead.

2. For individuals and families to love to travel, the extra benefit of a condo (at least a well managed one) is you can just pack up and leave anytime, without worrying about the security of your home.

Personally, i bought a house and lot but sacrificed a bit on the distance, and drained my savings for the cost.

My brother who currently rents at a condo walking distance from his office can't get over the convenience of working so close.

Now that he's looking to buy a house, he's mainly focused on looking for condos near his place
