pnoize2k4
how about my pix... care to comment??thanks.. the white cap in the background is a bit distracting, i'm not even sure what your subject is. is it the analog clock? the digital clock or both? the composition need a lot of work, the focus is off since your focal point was at the rim of the analog clock. try following the rule of thirds. pnoize2k4
sir pnoize....my guess is that the light source is coming from the upper right hand of the subject....my guess with the light source? ...must have done that outdoors...the sun, as i've read is the best source of light. yes the light did come from the upper right hand and this was shot indoors near a big window. i used the sunlight as my source and used a slow shutter speed (15 secs.) to expose this correctly. of course, I did this using a tripod. Are there any rules in adjusting them? Quote Link to comment
gooei
hey, thnks for the comment. yah thought of that as well, when i was taking the shot...but if i shifted more to the left. iba na yun effect ng sun with the clouds and all.... and also, mas marami distractions, kasi masasama yun ibang tao who were there admiring the sunset. ...but, do you think that would be better? napaisip ako dun ha... overall i like the pic, its just that boat like pnoize said, the sky looks great.. kinda cinematic actually.. hmm di ko naisip yun a, yung may mga tao sa tabitabi.. mahirap nga pag ganon, plus your on a pier sigruo & limted ang pagtatayuan mo, unless ul jump into the water Quote Link to comment
gooei
a prof i know said before, hirap makachamba ng ganyang setting na maganda, lalo na pag nature ang subject kwento nya when he was younger, nsa isang tribal area sya, may 2 british photogs dun, for 3 days shoot sya ng shoot, yung brits just hung around, pauwi na sya tsaka lang nagshoot.. later on he saw the guys in national geographic magazine & their pics from that day, turned out they weren't happy with the look of the sky & waited til it looked perfect for them.. made him feel so amature daw Quote Link to comment

pnoize2k4
Galing ng kuha nung ke Angela sir pnoize. Paano pala kayo nagmemeasure ng exposure sa portraits sir? Baka pwede ishare nyo settings nyo sir. Btw, you mentioned Danao & Cebu in your previous posts mo sir. Sa Cebu ba imo studio sir? this is a bit technical but here we go: I use a gadget called a lightmeter. in a studio setting, i usually set my iso to 100 since the studio flash will give me enough light. I then use a gadget called a lightmeter to get my f-stop or aperture on a shutter speed of 1/125, i usually get an f-stop measurement of somewhere between an 8 to 11. in shooting studio portraits, you would want to get all the details and not really have a shallow depth of field, thus the f8 and above choice. without the lightmeter and without practice, i'd have to take test shots to get the proper exposure which takes time. and in most cases, specially when shooting personalities, extra time is something they just don't have. this small gadget takes away the guessing game and definitely saves a lot of time. ----------- yes, my studio is in Cebu. however, i shot this portait of Angela in one of the offices in abs-cbn Cebu.
