I finally visited Coloong today with my kumpare and his older brother. Early in the morning Kapitan greet us at his house. First at Coloong 1 then Kaptian invited us at 2 para mga special guest nila. Well seems he got more than 30 hectares of it. We did get to tour the place. Mabait si Kapitan, he just want us to enjoy our fishing trip kaya sa Coloong 2 kami, we fish out almost 80 kilos of Big Bangus and Big Tilapia. Yung iba doon namin pina ihaw since it Holyw Week kaya isda na lang. Yung pauwi na kami, binigay na sa amin yung huli kasi magkaibigan pala sila ng kumpare ko, and he told us kung Sunday available kami balik kami. For his accomodation to me and my kumpare I think we will be back again on Sunday in return magdala na lang kami ng prutas sa kanya.

Tip on fishing there

Bangus use---- size 4 or 5 eye hook and floater ( bangus eats feeds on float)

Tilapia use---- size 7 or 8 and sinkers (tilapia eat feeds on sinking basis)

pag suwerte ka like us today we also catch around almost 5 kilos of Apahap each weights around 2.5 kilos

Normally Kapitan sells tilapia for 60 and bangus for 80 per kilo

Weekdays they are close for public dahil nag hahango sila for market, on Saturday and Sunday lang sila open sa public.

JAMBOREE,

So may Apahap sa Coloong 1, kapitans? Paano at saan banda nahuli?. I frequent that place...and have been promoting it to my fishing buds who I only met online at http://www.mfbb.net/filipinoanglers.

For all you fishing questions, newbies and experts alike, malamang nasa http://www.mfbb.net/filipinoanglers ang sagot! LOL Obviously, im promoting the site to get more ppl into the sport. Its a cheaper hobby than chasing girls. hehehe

Sinong may alam na good fishing Site somewhere near Calauag Quezon - Off shore lang. Ill bring my dad with me to go fishing too.

Coz I Went with the local fisherman in Calauag Quezon Last Month - on a Basnig Fishing Boat :thumbsupsmiley:

The best experience talaga - Eat, live and Be one with the team - caught 5 pails of Squids around 20 to 30 kilos - mid size pusits :thumbsupsmiley:

Hirap lang syempre nakikitulong din ako hila ng tali :upside: talagang kalyo abutin mo. makisama ka talaga sa mga tropa.

Para sa ibang di alam kung ano yung Basnig > Ang Basnig ay isang fishing boat na nag laladlad ng net sa laot from the fishing boat > they do it at night with lights on the boat for 30 minutes to 1 hour lighted para lumapit isda. Tapos baba nila yung big net going down at mahuli ano man under neat the lights. The trip was from 3 pm to 6 am - Walang Tulugan at survival talaga. They do this process four times or more - and it takes a lot of time to lower the nets and most hard part is raising it up.

Usually 14 people are needed for a this fish boat to operate > 2 persons at each sides and center and front and rear.Cool experience.

The best part on it is > during the waiting period > pwede kang mag fishing. kaw magsawa kakahintay bumaba yung pain mo sa lupa ... around 50 to 100 feet deep.

Have to go back to Calauag next week for fiesta celebration and Im looking forward to having fun with the local fisherman and fishing at the same time.

Keep up the fishing mga guys and gals. Gandang Hobby to > Im just trying to get back on it again.
